    Nice video man. My 03 Hyundai Elantra is currently overheating . My diagnosis so far is that it’s a possible crack in the bottom (and perhaps top top because when it overheats steam come out from what seem to a crack on the top of the radiator) . And it IS leaking but a slow leak I’m gonna also replace the radiator with new hoses and thermostat and new radiator cap

    Thank you so much. There is a heat wave and the temperature climbed up when the air conditioning was on. I never seen a Hyundai Elantra with so many miles on it, wow!

    Hey that short hose under the two radiator hoses, what is the part its attached to?

  • @WilliamVG
    @WilliamVG 4 года назад +2

    To clarify, the bottom hose from the radiator goes directly to the thermostat housing and the top of rad hose goes to the left side? I have a friends 2010 Hyundai Accent with overheating problems. The rad fans only kick on when you switch the AC on otherwise the engine will overheat. I checked the coolant temp sensor and resistance in fine, when cold 2.4 and drops to 190 when engine is hot. Any ideas?

    Heya, I know this video is old so you may not reply but my 03 elantra is overheating occasionally. ( I will drive 15+ minutes somewhere no issues but once I turn the car off and come back to drive it home thats when it seems to act up). I noticed one of the fans hasn't been running at all, but it seems like if that's the problem it wouldn't be making it 15+ minute drives just fine.
    Got any suggestions? Or do you think the bad fan is the issue?

      Hello. Thank you for posting your question. As I always said in all the videos, always fix what is broken first if one of the fans is no working fix that first. Check all the fuses too. Keep me posted.

    Great video awesome fix. I have the same 2004 Hyundai Elantra. Car ran perfect for 15 years until it was overheated due to lack of coolant and warped the cylinder head. The head was resurfaced, installed new timing belt, water pump, knock sensor and connector, new camshaft sensor, new VVT solenoid connector, new radiator and hoses (no kinks and properly connected) new aftermarket oversized radiator fans (functioning better than OEM) The AC condenser is clear.The thermostat was left out. I have reversed flushed the engine using a hi volume hi pressure hose (40 psi) at he radiator hoses. The car will run at 175 to 190 deg while moving but temp will creep up to more than 220 if stopped in traffic. I am out of Ideas. n you think of anything or do you know a good witch doctor?

    Hi! I have a Hyundai accent with a 1.5 crdi engine (d3ea engine number) that had the engine swapped due to a broken timing belt. After the installation the engine keeps overheating and my garage is saying that exhaust gases are going into the water circuit and avoiding the circulation of the fluid but they can't explain why no vapour is coming out the exhaust. Do you think it might be the same problem?

    • @gqautodiagnostics
      @gqautodiagnostics  5 лет назад

      Hello! I am sorry to hear that you are having such problem. Is posible that the coolant hoses are connected wrong. However, If the exaust gases are going into the coolant system is posible that you have a bad head gasket. I have seen it happened before. Keep me posted and please subscribe to my channel.

      @gqautodiagnostics  5 лет назад

      Hello, thank you for watching the video. I dont think that the code for the throttle body will be related to the overheating. What repairs have you done to the car so far?

      @gqautodiagnostics  3 года назад

      Hello, thank you for posting this question. If your transmission is overheating one of the best thing you can do is add an external transmission cooler, check the fans that are working correctly. Also, make sure to do a transmission service. I hope this help to solve your problem. Keep me posted. Please consider subscribing to the channel and God bless you 🙏
