Dear YourCarFacts . I come back to thank you for your tips. My engine overheat (temp gauge 75%, OBD 115 deg Cel) recently and I check my water tank that is full. No water leak and water tank is always at full level and no refill for almost 1.5 years. I watch many video saying thermostat, fan, or sensor problem. None of them are correct until I listen to your advice and found that my radiator water return hose ( connecting water tank and radiator) is clogged ! I check my radiator actually it is empty but the water tank is always full! Thanks for your tips! Mine is Nissan QR25

I have a mystery slight overheating on my 2005 Subaru Outback. I have checked many things and replaced a lot of parts already like the radiator caps, thermostat, and a few other things which commonly cause overheating, but I haven't yet found the reason..
What can you do to unplug the coolant galleries/passages in the motor? Do you have to take it apart for this or can they be flushed manually through the radiator hose?
Also, do you think a vacuum leak could cause overheating?
Edit: I found out what the problem was. The heater core lines were clamped by the previous owner with pressure pliers..🤦🏻‍♂️ Seems like the coolant going to the heater core was leaking inside the cabin and he decided to prevent a leak this way.. talk about a hack job. As a consequence, the cooling system was being pressurized and overheating. I ended up doing a heater core hoses bypass. Problem fixed.

Hi there. I have isuzu ascender. And it's being overheating. They changed the water pump. And thermostat. And a antifreeze container. They told me take it is ready they 5 blocks away as i was driving it started to heat up. They call me return it they forgot to connect the fan. My truck was so hot smoke was coming out my motor. Then later we notist there was a broken pipe call the "t" which is between the antifreeze container and motor. My truck still in the shop because the part wasent available. They have to order it from chevy dealer. I'm very worried about my truck.

Has anyone ever heard of an alternator making a car overheat? I've never heard of that But my husband said that 1 of his coworkers Told him that his car was overheating and he had already fixed everything imaginable That usually causes cars to overheat Such as the water pump The thermostats,He replaced the radiator, Checked the fans and He even checked the engine to make sure that the oil was clean and did not have any Milky looking oil... So he was sure his heads were not damaged And for some reason you decided to take Ito take it to autozone To have the car scanned And it came back that's something Was faulty on the A battery or alternator so he replaced the alternator and now he said His vehicle is not overheating anymore... Is that even possible? I'm really just trying to Understand why the alternator has anything to do with the temperature of the vehicle To be honest I would like to prove my husband wrong lol

Maybe the drive belt was slipping and not driving the water pump properly, then when he put the new alternator on the belt got tightened properly.

I watched a video that said to be very careful of what additives you add to your vehicles. Old cars aren’t like the newer ones. They are all different and you can further mess up your car.

You, sir are a self richious fool. Do you trust your life in Wyoming with electric car charged by coal? I see idiots trying to take electric vehicles to Yellowstone national Park broke down on the side of the road daily? No coal fired charging stations around... Stay in the city where you belong.

I've been looking at electric but I'm not impressed. The issues that happen with gas cars are because the manufacturer build them that way on purpose to break. It will be a long time before everything is electric. Most electric cars are ugly, and people aren't about to give up a good looking suv or nice lifted truck for electric. They can't even figure out how to get good range without not making it aerodynamic. I had a model Y for a few days and range sucked really bad. I had to charge it too many times.
