Woah guys , MEGADETH! Love it. This one is very thrashy. Lucretia-next.
@hairlylarry The original?
@@user-br2gi8kh5sof course every Megadeth fan knows Dave fucked up the remaster
@@isopropyltoxicity Yep, it's awful 😞
Oh Lord here we go! This album is insane, and a true metal classic. The guitars and drums are insane. Keep in mind the singer is also playing all those riffs, and even takes some solos. Dave Mustaine is a legend.
This album is nearly flawless and well-deserving of a full review.
IT IS FLAWLESS!!!
Every song on this album is bangin. Pick one, you will do no wrong.
Thank you for checking this out, I've been so curious what you guys would think of high energy, fast paced Thrash metal. Metal music is a trip, it's capable of incorporating anything, including jazz and classical and still be recognisable metal music. There's a metal genre and band out there for just about anybody and there's tons I want to introduce you guys to.
Thanks my friend. We appreciate you!!
nicely done Mr Dirty
Great request! 👍🏻
All metal has classical influence, but some sub genres just use it a lot more than others.
This whole album is a must listen to, I would suggest "Holy Wars" , "Lucretia" and ""Five magics" next from this same album
You forgot Hangar 18
Make sure you listen to the original album from 1990 and not the remastered version. They could not find all of the tape and had to redo parts of some songs on the remastered version... which is not as good as the original.
@@rubentullenaar2934 And not the music video version but the album version.
And Take No Prisoners. Hell just pick any.
@@srt8rocketship241 Bruh are you lost? 🤣
RIP Nick Menza. Of course that's a double kick drum. In my opinion this song is one of the greatest drumming performances of all time. The man was almost impossibly precise with those beats. So gd difficult at that speed. I mean, it's probably child's play for a lot of modern metal drummers but when this came out? I'd never heard anything like it.
Megadeth got the groove. Once you get used to the speed of it, the groove in what they’re doing is unmistakable. It’s derived from jazz and progressive music. This particular track hums along at a brisk 160 bpm. They do have slower tempo songs but slower don’t mean less heavy. Also, not their fastest song. That’s Fatal Illusion off the Dystopia Album.
That drummer was a machine could do this all day every day and never quit. Nick Menza was a monster. RIP
Dave Mustaine doesn't play thrash. Dave Mustaine is thrash.
Hanger 18 ,Holy wars, peace sells,
In my Darkest hour
All four bangers by MEGADETH 👍
This entire album is heavy gold 🥇 start to finish.
Finally Megadeth!!
There’s a lot going on in their songs. Multiple riffs in each song and meaningful lyrics. In a class by themselves.
“ You’re body has parts that your country can spare
By the way Son here’s your wheelchair”
Almost anything from Rust In Peace and Peace Sells But Who’s Buying is a can’t miss.
My Last Words is my favorite Megadeth song but I think you guys would really dig Five Magics.
Love the channel.
Holy Wars, Hook in Mouth, Peace Sells, Symphony of Destruction, Angry Again, The Conjuring, Wake Up Dead, Five Magics... there are so many greats, hope you dive down the megadeth rabbit hole.
Absolutely, I Second that Request!!! It'll be Epic!
Lah and Chi...u don't even know how unbelievably awesome they are !!! Seriously 🎉
watching hip hop heads react to classic metal is now my favorite youtube genre, thank you guys
Listen to Rust in Peace in its entirety. Its incredible
Marty Friedman, the guitar lead player is a legend. Hangar 18 and Holy Wars are the best representative of his mastery. Dave also solos, so they trade off much of the time.
The best example of his master is Tornado of Souls.
"Hanger 18" is the musician's banger off this album. Sophisticated and fun with some wild lyrics.
When he cracked up and told us brother "you love heavy metal" brother couldn't deny it.
Love the reaction! Usually don’t get reactions to this song, this song and album are part of the thrash hall of fame. 👍🏻
A metal master piece! Sadly Nick Menza the drummer passed away few years ago now. Megadeth is one of the best metal acts you’ll see live, & still going strong today! 🤘
If you stick with the Megadeth rabbit hole Holy Wars or Peace. Sells Both bangers and a bit more of an easier listen
Loving your musical journey fellas! So many great genres to explore
Love it! The beginning of the song is like a swarm of angry hornets.
The Conjuring, Hanger 18, Lucretia whole band/album is a rabbit hole
Engineered to achieve maximum waveform and volume, yet mixed so well that everything is crystal clear. No small feat.
Well if you’re going down this road, “Holy Wars” is an absolute must.
Fellas, please do this whole album!!!!!!
Wow that was badass 🔥🔥🔥
Is this song new to you? If so you are so lucky. Listen to the entire album, you won't regret it
@@bronnyredding8860 yes it is, heard of them but never listened to them. I will listen to more 🤯
yea baby! Megadeth is hard as hell. This album is a speed metal classic. Holy Wars is an all-time classic track, starts the album, really cool lyrics.
Absolutely awesome. Friedman is a god, his leads are just awesome, Mustaines rhythm is hardcore. The bass and drums are just right.
Rust in peace is the ultimate metal album.
Whole album is killer!
Gotta do HOLY WARS guys! MEGADETH ftw
Megadeath A Tout Le Monte is a truly amazing song ❤
HELL YEA MEGADETH 🤘🏽
Oh yeah!!! The BEST heavy metal era ever. Thrash particularly! Seen my favorite band in the world 4 times which is Metallica. I love Megadeth just the same.
With metal music, artists often higher the lows and high ranges, and drop the mids
I have been cautious when listening to Metal bands, but this one is pretty good! Love your production insights..I always learn something. Cheers!
This was a drum extravaganza 🥁
It’s as metal as metal gets.
'80s Metal & the sub-genre of thrash-metal, effectively, made: Double bass pedals (& drumming) "de rigeur" (IN Metal, at least).
--The Ellefson/Mustaine pairing [Dave Mustaine: Guitars (rhythm & (some) lead) AND lead vocals AND Dave Ellefson: Bass & backing vocals] - "Dave & Dave", "The 2 Daves" ] was responsible for some of the most seminal thrash metal music of the initial period (and beyond).
They DID have "groove," but: not as much as others. Yes.
They sacrificed that for: blistering speed. ...but, as you say: IF you slowed-it-down (BPMs), you would, definitely "feel it" more and hear it (in a more traditionally recognizable way).
Definitely.
-You would, also, do well to listen to the first 2 Megadeth releases (albums), which feature: the SUPERB
Gar Samuelson!
The ONLY thrash-metal drummer (because he WASN'T, really, one!) who SWUNG!
YES!! The first 2 Megadeth albums, actually, have drums/drum parts that SWING! [except: AT the tempos you heard!!!!] - I am NEITHER exaggerating NOR joking!
(It makes them, competently, unique!)
[...The only other drummer in early/foundational thrash who COULD or WOULD swing, would be: Anthrax's Charlie Benante. ...but he preferred to use other feels and methods. ...he would slip in some swing beats later into 'Thrax's career, but: Samuelson was an utterly different MFer!
[HORRIBLY!: Gone too soon!!!! 😭😭😭😢😭🤬🤬]]
Indeed Gar and guitarist Chris Poland came from a Jazz Fusion background.
@@mattsabath Yessir! 👍🤘🤘
You have to check out the song on this same album called "Holy Wars", it's a must listen to by this band!
Actually, if I remember correctly, Metallica's James Hetfield said the whole speed thing grew out of the boredom of playing whatever cover songs they were playing at the time, so they sped things up to make things more interesting. Th is was an interview from the early days, so early Dave might have been in the band still. To sum up, I think many beginning musicians do that, I certainly did. After you gain some proficiency, you tend to write it fast right away. Based on my own personal experience.
"You love heavy metal",....😂👍
One aspects of Megadeth I like over all other metal bands is the way their music is recorded, each musician has his own slot. You can hear the drums, the bass, and often the rhythm of each guitarist because of the way each song is recorded. Too many metal bands you can't hear the bass guitar because the rhythm guitars are covering most of it up. Not so with Megadeth. This is also my favorite song off '"RiP". Tons of energy. Thought provoking lyrics. The solos at the end aren't just shredders. Let me suggest 'My Last Words' as a possible reaction song. Crazy bass riff. One of Dave Mustangs best solos.
Wow ok guys ✊🏾😏 that's a thrasher
I slowed the vid down by half. Y'all was so laid back and mellow. Especially when you were talking about how h e a v y it was. I laughed my ass off. Good reaction. Thanks, guys.
Yeah! On point. I hit the gear icon and slowed this to 0.75 speed. Groove city. Nailed it! 💯
Most heavy metal drummers use a double bass. They all started using them in the late 70's early 80's.
It's ok gentlemen, say it! Y'all love heavy metal. You two have heard some really great rock and roll from Zeppelin, SRV, Aerosmith etc.....these bands are thee exact same bands that has lead all metal heads to heavy metal. Rock and Roll, the gateway drug to Heavy metal.
I'm 58 and not a HUGE Metal fan, but I do appreciate it when it's done extremely well. I dig everything about Megadeth except for Dave's singing voice. I even like his phrasing and note choices, it's just his tone I don't care for. I wish James Hetfield had been Megadeth's singer. Don't shoot me, just my opinion ;)
This is part of the best album of all times 🙏😁
Megadeth is really a very fast jazz band
Holy Wars is a must!
Another great reaction by you guys. Megadeath is the real deal. You will absolutely love any song off of Rust In Peace… Keep up the great work….
Probably the highest level of musicianship as a whole of any band ever. ‘Holy wars’ is a fantastic example of this.
"Sweating Bullets"
(Video needed, you will like, it's more in your lane)
If you’re wanting to experiment with some heavy metal - there are so many options and different levels of “hard” depending on who you’re listening to. Megadeth is up at the top on speed and engineering, but you might try something one step slower with a more pronounced groove. Symphony of Destruction might be a fun Megadeth tune for you guys. It was a big radio hit back in the day.
🤘🤘Great reaction guys. We're going to turn you into metalheads for sure. Check out Holy Wars the Punishment Due. Also a hidden gem 99 ways to die from the Beavis and Butthead soundtrack. We also need to get you guys listening and reacting to the Pantera onslaught. Domination, Mouth For War or Revolution is My Name. 🤘🤘
Fellas you gotta be prepared for this stuff lol
5 magics from that same album is legit.
You guys are great! I love to watch your reactions to some great music that I’ve known for years. Not a Patreon member cause I got no extra $ but will continue to like and comment. Black Sabbath Sweet leaf is about marijauna and is a great song with sick drums
Thes álbum the best forever
Everything is heavy but none of it bleeds together
This is the demo version of the song
🤘🤘
A Tout Le Monte is a must. Done told my kids I want this played when I pass. Not to heavy. Just right for me ❤
You guys should try some helmet. I suggest meantime the entire album's grbabe or Betty college. Educated the list and musician. These guys are one of my favorites.
This isn't a metal classic. This album is the greatest specimen of art ever created
If one prefers music with the soul of an ashtray, here ya go.
Early Megadeth had Jazz and punk influences
A lot of people saying you should do this whole album, and you totally should. BUT make sure that you DO NOT listen to the remasters of any song by this band, They nailed the production first time around, Dave Mustaine came back around in 2003 and totally ruined the mix for every album. Do this whole album, original masters only
Alice In Chains - Sludge Factory, Frogs, Bleed the freak (album versions)
have to listen to hangar 18!!
Great reaction give " Ashes in your mouth " by Megadeth a listen .
Holy Wars and Tornado of Souls are musts off this album
😎👍
Megadeth is awesome! Be sure to listen to everything, the 1990 album "Rust in Peace" is the best Thrash Metal album! I believe that Megadeth is one of the few metal bands that was able to maintain a natural sound when Heavy Metal was just emerging!
If you want good Metal that's different try Sepultura's Roots Bloody Roots with instrumental intro. It was one of the era defining albums integrating Brazilian traditional instrumentation to Thrash Metal. Or for classic greatness try Master of Puppets by Metallica about drug addiction.
Great reaction Megadethh is great! Try holy wars a masterpiece!
They pulled out all the stops with this album.
Step back to QUEENSRYCHE “Suite Sister Mary”
The best part is the lead singer is also lead guitar.
Oh boy...into the DEEP end haa! Metallica next please, CREEPING DEATH!
Check out Nuclear Assault - Something Wicked. I think you can get into the groove on this. :)
Megadeth are definitely up there with the high level of instrumentation. Dave Mustaine was on a mission after being kicked out from Metallica and formed one of the greatest metal bands.
Happy that I’ve seen them live back in the day on the Peace Sells and Rust in Peace tours.
RIP Nick Menza. Incredible talent sadly gone.
Dave Mustaine (vocals/guitars) was a founding member of Metallica. He was too wild for the band, and was kicked out as the band was travelling across the country to record their first album. Mustsine never forgave them and his anger fueled his new band Megadeth for decades. This is their fourth album from 1990. They had many lineup changes over the years, this is their best imo.
Megadeth sits right behind Metallica as the kings of 80s thrash metal. Undeniable legends.
Uhm: "too wild for"?? 🙄🙄🤦 ...That's "fan history rewrite/re-contextualization" TO "a T."
...However: Mustaine is integral to the development of thrash-metal and, certainly, musically informed the content OF EVERY thrash Metal release, for decades.
There's NO questioning his contributions, nor their importance.
@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra They kicked their lead guitar player out of the band, on the other side of the country, weeks before recording their debut album, without a replacement for him.
"On April 11, 1983, after Metallica had driven to New York to record their debut album, Mustaine was officially ejected from the band because of his alcoholism, drug abuse, overly aggressive behavior, and personal clashes with founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, an incident Mustaine refers to as "no warning, no second chance".
"The band packed up Mustaine's gear, drove him to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and put him on a Greyhound bus bound for Los Angeles."
Sounds pretty wild to me.
@@justinatest9456 You said Mustaine was "too wild"
...that is not the reason (or: part of the reason.).
I know the story.
Yes.
Everyone in the band [Metallica] at the time was drinking (to very different degrees).
Mustaine was, however, violent and uncontrollable and tended to do things like: threaten and assault people; smash gear (or almost do it)...
...I am not going to claim that: it was the wisest decision they ever made (and: yes: Mustaine was bitter and vengeful about it, for decades...); but: it does seem rational (at the very least).
Also: I am not sure how much you may or may not know about: the birth of Thrash (in the East Bay)
...but: Kirk had, already, been trying to "muscle in" for the job, while he was in Exodus.
He wanted to be in Metallica (and had been saying he was going to be-one way or another.).
He didn't organize Dave's "dismissal" (in Queens) ...but: I would guess that: knowing that: you had another excellent, excited, fully-capable lead guitarist, WAITING, CAMPAIGNING (practically) to BE IN your band ...might, also, have had ...y'know "some effect."🙄🤷
Most musically talented band ever. Megadeth!!
Talk about throwing them in head first. They're not all this fast, but their playing is always precise, and a most songs are good lyrically - usually with subtext.
Tornado of souls
Five Magics is amazing. Stick with the original recordings from this and the Peace Sells albums, not the remastered.
🤘🏾
I'm gonna tell it like it is: ANYBODY who was around back in the day will tell you that fans in Metallicas early days came for Mustaine. James didn't play at all at that time, just vocals. Those early riffs and solos were Dave's. Check the album credits. 3 bands outta the Big 4 were directly influenced by him: Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. These are historical facts therefore indisputable 🤘🏾👍🏾
War is peace ... sure man ✌️
Awesome! Try Melvins Revolve
MELVINS are a necessity. ...However: I have always found that:
"Hooch" is THE correct inroad. 🤘🤘
I have been looking for a way to work in some Melvins, I think Chi would really dig them.
Good one too! I keep saying Revolve as it was my introduction to Melvins only a year ago! I missed out so much on them.
@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra
@@VintageWanderer I wasn't an "old school" Melvins fan, either, (I don't live in the NW & never got to hear them in the '80s), BUT!:
I was lucky enough to be introduced to them just around the time that Lori Black ["Lorax"] was, still, on bass [That would be: Shirley Temple's daughter! B.T.W.-if you know who THAT is!] - ...I believe I heard Ozma, first [🤷🤷] ...but it WAS after Matt Lukin had departed [and had founded Mudhoney; WITH Mark Arm].
-I got to SEE them with: Helmet [When Meantime HAD COME OUT] and, later, with Nine Inch Nails [which wasn't, actually, as great AS you might think! ...but: STILL....].
The show with HELMET: Lori was, still, with them. (THAT was KIlLER!). The NIN show, it was somebody ELSE (I don't remember, EXACTLY, who was on bass, for THAT -sorry!).
...Have caught them SINCE, also, and they have been excellent!! Worth catching when you get an opportunity! 🤘🤘
Freken Awesome!

Peace Sells... Whos Buying album Has a lot of Jazz influence in the sound, a must listen album! So Far So Good So What album is amazing musically but very poor studio production hint of jazz can also be heard, but still a must listen album too.
I watch many reactors, but consider you guys tops! I humbly request the natural move from Megadeth to LOVEBITES.
