Without a pass-through the rest of the review literally means nothing to me! What a failure! No matter how good they might be your limited to how long the headset stays on for, hard-pass!
Exactly!
Agreed, the moment he said no pass-through, I passed.
Have you found anything better? I’m getting frustrated there is nothing good for us with quest 3? Or is there…?
Still rocking the Ankers. The Ankers now work much better on the Quest 3 than they ever did on my 2. Even the passthrough charging with Bobovr's S3 works flawlessly.
Made the video on notifications (and ears)... now I can time stamp when this was recorded haha ;)
Interesting on the headphones, great overview as always. Thank you for taking the time!
Great review as always Jay. I like how to nail every aspect. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the in-depth review Jay! These seem awfully "similar" to the PS5 version from Razer that didn't sell so well. Perhaps a rebadging to clear stock - would explain the lack of passthrough for the dongle as well as some of the other quirks...
Save your money and just get a good pair of wired earbuds
5:30 i love that reaction to how loud they are that alone makes me wanna buy them, super dont like that theres no charge passthrough
Hey JayBrat! I bought the soundcore ear buds you recommended but unfortunately they do not allow the BOBOvr S3 pro battery to charge the Q3 at all. I might have gotten a lemon but buying it from EBAY I'm stuck with it. I need ear buds or headphones because my hearing is shot... too many concerts in the 70's! Any other suggestions for better charging pass thru?
Anker tried saying the 10,000 mAh battery ti tooo much for the don'gle. I call BS but is there something made a little more robust?
Thanks Brother,
I wonder if they didn’t do a pass through because they plan that you can use it with the meta brand battery headset? There’s a usb c port under the batter in the back, would that dongle work there and you could keep the battery plugged into the main port?
Crazy pricing and some big drawbacks like you say. Still using my PrizimXR head buds and really like them. I think if they come out with a second improved version I will definitely be picking them up and I like how receptive the company is to ideas and making improvements. I will be passing on these Razers for sure (mostly because of the lack of passthrough charging). Thanks for the review.
For the old one can you connect those via Bluetooth I know it comes with something to connect via usbc
There's a way around using those first sets of headphones without the passthrough charger. Dual USB C Headphone and Charger Adapter, 2 in 1 Type C Audio and Fast Charging Dongle USB C Splitter Cable for iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Android Series, iPad, Laptop
I would love to see a rundown of the best open-earbuds for use with Quest3.
Open-ear has multiple advantages over in-ear earbuds, 1. The loop is much more secure, and 2. Much larger battery capacity.
The downside is compactness but when paired with a VR headset that's a moot point.
If you are wanting earbuds just for PCVR, try the QCY H05 Earbuds. They have no dongle (why I say for PCVR), but they are cheap, have good ANC, and the sound quality is amazing. As someone who has P10's, and tried over 20 other earbuds, I always use the QCY's (I even purchased a second pair).
If you want ultra-cheap PCVR earbuds, the chinese R05 earbuds sound quite good, are low latency (40ms), and cost next to nothing from ali.
The secondary advantage of both of these earbuds is the cases open without taking them off of the table (openable top is long-wise), simple to open while you have a headset on, even while they are on a charger. Also easy to place them back in the case, as they sit in the case earbud sideways, no trying to find the hole to drop the poles in.
NOTE: Bluetooth only! You will need to disable the mono hands-free output and the mic in window's sound control panel, and continue using Q3's microphone. It's sad that we are in 2024 and still no 44k stereo + mic bluetooth support.
My 2c.
Could you review the Sony INZONE Buds ?... they came out last year, supposedly the sound quality is comparable to their non gaming earbuds. They connect using a USB-C dongle as well... thanks in advance!
With all my love to Razer, their "special Meta" earbuds is just a copy of original Hammerhead earbuds with white color and that cheap "made for Meta" print. And while again, I love Razer and have most of my PC accessories from them, I won't buy their headphones because where is passthrough, guys? I'm using PrismXR Vega and it's okay for my Quest 3. Maybe it's not the best in a sound volume or quality, but passthrough is a must-have feature for Quest 3. Maybe, if Razer would make new earbuds specifically for Quest 3, with passthrough at least, and not just a knock-off of their Hammerhead in white color and with a cheap engraving, I'll consider buying.
What are you talking about passthrough
8:33 If we're going to start having USB dongles for VR headphones we REALLY need more USB ports on the Quest.
I don't care if it's just two ports stacked one on top of the other or if the second port is randomly sticking out of the top, we need a second USB port.
An extra accessory port would be a great idea. I'd like to use a better 3.5mm headphone out but that would currently block for any cabled connection to a PC.
Can you try the jbl quantum tws air
For anyone not bothered by a cable, I can very warmly recommend the Fiio FH3 in-ears. I just got them as an upgrade for my Quest 3 primarily (replacing a pair of very old Sennheiser IEMs) and even as a fairly critical audio buff (and semi-pro musician), I'm really positively surprised by how good they sound - especially for the price. They're even a significant improvement over my Sony WF1000XM4's (just w/o the ANC and Bluetooth of course), which cost me about 50% more. I paid 1100 DKK (about 160 USD incl tax) for the Fiio's - for anyone ok with that price range (and the wire) this is a no-brainer, IMHO. And they are more than loud enough to give you hearing damage, if you don't mind ignoring the warning in the headset. I find that 4-5 steps below max volume is "comfortably loud".
I see they are 110 USD on the Amazon US site. I assume that's without sales tax (I'm not American so I'm probably wrong).
Any issue like latency when connected to quest 3 ??
Can you use mic while using this ?
@@xxmmssmmxx They're cabled, so there's no latency. You just plug them into the mini jack. Using the built-in mic shouldn't be a problem.
@@Elgsdyr thank you brother i just requsted 1 as per ur advice 🙏🙏
I will be back after i recieve it to thank you again or fight with u depends on my experience with it 😂👌
@@Elgsdyr i just got them and this was the best advice I’ve gotten 👌
Thank you brother…
1 thing is weird about it… when i play beat saber its get low and not high enough like any other game in VR.
I think its the game issue
The soundcore earbuds for Matt are just fine. They’re not the loudest but so far they’re the best. 😉👍
I think I'll stick with the Soundcore set since it has a way to charge it while using the dongle.
Do the Soundcore ones work wells with the Quest 3? I had them with the Quest 2 and they were really good for that.
@@Ryu0rKen If connecting over bluetooth there is a delay in sound, but with the doggle there really isn't much issue I found works just as well with the quest 3 that it did with the quest 2
Won't charge with pass through on quest 3. I returned mine
@@survivemichsurvivemich4280 That's your battery strap being incompatible. My passthrough charges just fine with both my battery straps.
Although I agree with you, pass-through would be optimum. 😉
Hi Jaybratt!!
Man, with a 6-hour battery life, I wonder why didn't they have the dongle plug into the headphone port instead of the USB port. I understand that the dongle would need power, but so what? Give it a small battery. Otherwise, the USB dongle needs to have passthrough for charging.
I watched the video just because you made it. But no pass thru, razer isn’t selling a lot of these 😂😂
I'm shocked!!
I like Razer products but how did they get meta's seal of approval when the dongle doesn't even fit in the case and there's no USBC passthrough!?! They must have paid for that "made for meta" badge lol
PS I'm in the UK and the soundcore VR P10s are no longer available so I went on Amazon and got the newzerol wireless VR buds which are almost identical to the P10s but are nice n loud.
No pass-through no-go. I use the prismxr buds and they are great.
I have the soundcore ones and I like them but do you think it is even worth it to get them
hey jay how we doin
I’ll stick with my soundcore earbuds. 😉👍
No passthrough is a joke, product is effectively DOA due to this.
You can charge while you have the earbuds in, just plug your CType cable into the battery on your headset. 😉
No charge passthrough makes this DOA. The battery just doesn't last long enough to make this worth it.
Almost excited... Then I saw the silicone tips, allergic. I'll take a pass on the bloody ears for these buds.
The no pass-through makes this DOA as a product. Too bad.
meta is probably getting a cut from Razor for each sale, that's why they get the meta approval.
That would make sense, that made for meta badge probably comes with some strings attached ☹️
just realised my comment had a pun in it unintentionally, Meta got "a CUT" from RAZOR. (cause Razors are sharp)
@@JYTheHungryRonin 😂
Those Razers are stupidly expensive.
And it's even worse as over here in Australia they're selling for $285aud which at the current AUD TO USD conversion rate is $190usd... Ludicrous.
Those look nice but wouldn't over ear be better
Wait I'm dumb
thanks for the deep review. I like Ryzer, but "designed for Meta" with that horrible design, lack of features and useless baterry killers... RGB really? I'm not buying these and will also share to others not to buy these...
Wtf at the dongle Razer. Soundcore dongle is the standard.
I bought the Anker VR P10 and, after a while, I quit using them on my Quest. I kept forgetting to put them in, so when I didn't hear any noise I had expected to hear, I would remember the buds. But my major gripe is that while they are simultaneously BT connected to my phone, the Quest volume would MUTE with every notification I received on my phone. This is highly irritating when there is in-game dialog, footsteps, or conversing with friends that I don't want to miss. If it just added the phone sounds to my games/apps, I would be happier with them.
Hi, earbuds
Hey
No pass through = no thanks!
No charging pass through = No Buy from me. The review was pointless for me at that point.
hi
I’m a razer fanboy so, I’m my opinion it’s the best
