sorry I´m late to the party (5 month).. But Abba´s soundtech and co producer for 20 years was Michael B Tretow ..and he created the "Abba sound" I don't think he gets enough credit for the job . he is on youtube

This song was sampled by Madonna on her smash Hung Up, she had to beg them to use it but the result was amazing, it came at a cost, they got 50% of the royalties and she had to sell ABBA Gold CD’s at her concerts

This song is what a lot of the music of the 80's sounded like, but was recorded in 1979. I think most people who listened to music in the 70's have a favorite ABBA song. Mine is "SOS."
Just to think they are all in their 70's now and the magic of their music is still very much alive. Keep up the reacts lads.

This song is so fantastic. The album version is longer and has a really cool instrumental break. Please check Knowing me Knowing you, Lay all your love on me, Voulez-Vous, Summer night city, The day before you came and When all is said and done. The reason their work stands the test of time is that everything they ever did is always high quality. They really took the time and worked tirelessly to perfect every song. The songs are only seemingly simple. Right under the surface their are actually really complexed and every time you listen one you can find layer after layer. With the new songs they haven`t changed at all. The voices are matured, but still clear and beautiful as ever, the harmonies are fantastic and the message has many layers to find.
The 'Album Version' is longer. But, it was also the version Released as a Single. The problem is, that the Video on RUclips, is Edited. Over a Minute of the Hit Single is missing!!! The complete Video ought to be on RUclips.

You guys should listen to the title track from ABBA's "The Visitors" album. The song is about a Russian dissident about to be arrested by the KGB in the old Soviet Union. It was a hit in the dance clubs, yet very unlike ABBA's more mainstream hits. The whole "Visitors" album is worth a listen and showcases ABBA's ability to write songs in a variety of styles.
Wonderful and yes Agnetha is an angel. Stunningly beautiful and and wonderful voice.
You definitely need to listen and react to the new songs but first how about a little sojourn through Abba hit history?

Love this song, I had it as a single - also downloaded it a while ago. Abba are an amazing band and I had a lot of their songs such as Take a Chance on Me, Knowing Me Knowing You, Voulez Vous and Super Trouper. This one is so upbeat with a fantastic melody. Their new album is called Abba Voyage and is due to be released in November. A couple of songs have already gone into the UK charts - Don't Shut Me Down and I Still Have Faith in You. Great songs, they sound amazing and it's just so good to have them back. I remember the first time I saw Abba, on The Eurovision Song Contest 1974, held in the UK. They sang the song Waterloo and we definitely thought they would win it which of course they did! Great reaction guys, many thanks. Incidentally Madonna used the Gimme Gimme Gimme melody in her song Hung Up (2005) - I think she had to beg Abba's permission to be able to use it!
Wuhhh!? Where's the breakdown with the swelling strings? This is like a radio edit. I love ABBA and their comeback is stellar!! You've got your Led Zep, Rod Stewart, Elton John who trot out a farewell tour every few years. This is how to do it: nothing for 40 bloody years, then pick up exactly where they left off. No modern trickery. It's eerily like a timewarp in this fast-changing world. I love it!

Good work Broaction. This is very nice review, and lovely to hear you reminiscing about your parents playing Abba in car. You mention Abba tendency to be melencholic, and I think you right. This song is quite sad too: 'Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away. Take me through the darkness to the break of the day.' It sounds desperate... the singer needs someone to help her to get through to the next day. Very sad.

Universal/Vevo really ought to have their butts booted for choosing the shortened version for the 'official' video. The rest of the world bar North America got the full and superior original song. It's a pity. Reactors and a lot of fans seem to unaware of it.
