Good video Earl! Nice to see them both out! If you give the gasser a little tuning it’ll have quite a bit more punch. If you add a pipe it’ll have even more. Thanks for sharing
That Gas powered Rc is louder than my 2nd Gen Raptor I own. Electric is the future except for some that are holding onto the fuel power and noise factor. I was in tears when you commented on your son's newly discovered jump line....cool video and down to earth comments and reactions...looking forward to the next one...Stay safe and have a great weekend.
Does it run on regular gasoline with 2-stroke oil, like a chain saw? Can that clutch be tightened up? I guess it has mechanical brakes? The thing’s a beast. There’s one for sale locally here, very tempting.
Just stumbled across your video looking to make a decision in between the two gas or electric you have the only video that I can find the covers both units I greatly appreciate you taking the time to put this up I would love to have both units but I bought an electric one last night because of your points you made
Electric is easier and more places to run it but gas for me is super fun in a 1/5th scale but where I live it would have to be electric just so I can run rc more
all that noise and goes nowhere..your dbxle 2.0 is night and day brotha. Love that 2.0. I can't ever see myself getting an rc that sounds like a lawn mower. Great video Earl 👍👍💯💯💪
@@heat305rc You have to understand that a piston the size of a dollar coin and is pushing 17 thousands revolutions per minute with a displacement of like an inch so it takes time for the engine to spool up but once it does it moves just as fast and not only that it depends on if it's running rich or just right that can change its acceleration by quite a bit. There is also nothing to quite the noise it's just a hollow aluminum pipe. At the end you really can't compare them two, there two different beasts.

Funny thing i stated with a brushless converted dbxl but then went to has for the first time after I converted it back to gas. I prefer gas. The short run times and heat problems ruined it for me for electric.
Would like to see the gas and electric have a face off speed monaverability, etc, as the electric looked no faster than the gas. I junked the K&N filter as in the UK it is wetter than where you are and it was a pain to keep clean even with a Outerwears pre-filter fitted, as the front wheels spat all the dirt up and onto the filter so a change to foam was needed and I am going to fabricate a splash guard for two third's of the filter as it even get's mud from the back wheel. I also took the horrible loking roof light bar off and added the DBXL-E LED strip light bar's to it. Do you run a killswitch on your's incase of servo, battery failure or loss of signal, I use the Dynamite one other's have either Killer RC, Triton or Hilantronic's Micron 1T on my RCMAX GT50 cc motor in my Kraken RC KV5TT. I have had two instances where the killswitch was needed once it cut in and once I had to use it myself. Best safe than sorry, as if it is not for keeping other people around you safe also to save your investment as gas vehicle's ain't cheap.
Nick Ing dazed & confused yes I hear you the gas is decently slower than the electric and the gas didn’t jump as high but I can put a gps into each car to check for speed ...what air filter are you running now is it paper or a washable filter? Well gas takes more effort it isn't like you put batteries in and run no you first need to break it in wich means you cant fully run it until you run 4 to 5 tanks through it don't skip this part. Just wach a video on how to do it if you don't know. You also have to tune it daily depending on the temperature, humidity and altitude it not that bad once you understand how and what to do and sometimes if noting really changes you don't you need to tune it just make sure when you that off the spark plug the end is black or dark brown black is rich but that's sometimes better because the engine will last longer and dark brown it the place you want if you are racing but don't let it get any lighter or your running the risk of burning the engine. Also need to mix 2 stroke oil with the gas usually a 25 to 1 ratio and you need to use the right gas witch is 91 octane if your in California or Utah but if your any where else in America get 93 octane you will also need to clean the car after every run and if you won't be running it for 2 or more weeks you need to drain the gas or better yet let it run out so there's nothing in the engine. But what you get is the sound and pride of you keeping the car running, its more work then an electric car but it's a lot more fun. And one more thing if you will be running it somewhere make sure they allow gas because some places don't like gas vehicles. So it depends what you want do you just want to run the can with little work and not worry about much then get a electronic car or do you want to actually want to get your hands dirty and work on the car if so get the gas, gas also has a better run time around 30 to 40 minutes but with electric it will probably 8 to 10 minutes because how heavy the car is and with electric you need to buy a hobby grade changer and the liop battery wich cost a lot but they last around 150 to 200 cycles. With gas you need to buy gas of course but one gallon will last like 3 or 4 hours so it's worth it and the oil will last for like 10 or 15 gallons so to run the gas car isn't to expensive just need to know what your doing. But trust me I know it seems a lot for the gas car but it isn't really that bad you will get used to it and get though it quick, it only takes me 5 min in the beginning to get the gas car ready and about 15 to 30 min at the end.

Strapping on the roof? Thats a good wat to lose a lot of money.
Depending on you strap skills it should never come off as the luggage rack is for that luggage 😱
@@earlmoorhead5555 It would still make me nervous. I would get a Thule for the rack and put the RCs inside the Thule. Plus, if you want to stop off for something to eat after a day RCing, you can lock them inside the Thule. Im just a worry wart about my RCs. LOL
@@sagnhill funny thing is I had one as that flew off on the freeway ripped the case that mounted to my rack my older videos had the luggage case up there then it was gone 🤣
@@earlmoorhead5555 Wow! Ive never had problems with Thule before. But damn, that would be scary having one ripped off like that. I just drive Chevy trucks now days. LOL. I just ordered a 2024 Colorado. Smaller than a silverado and I can get into those places I like to run my RCs. Im in my 60s now with a bad back. So much easier to drive into places rather than to walk. LOL In Michigan I love to go to the Dunes at Silver Lake and run my RCs. Nothing but sand and water.
