I learn something in almost every video. Thanks for the good information and hands-on work. You do a great job explaining what and why you are doing when on the bench. 1/5 scale may require a lot of work, but it definitely more than makes up for it with the fun.
Great advise Earl. I bought a cheapo rotary tool years ago and it keeps going. For $15 I thought it would die right away, super handy. Still have the receipt in the box lol
Just getting home from work. I be looking at the 780 can I have trying to figure out how the F to jam it into my limitless. I wanted to watch this before I go hit the playlist you suggested. Might have to make that my winter project but it'll be good to get a parts list going and some kinda idea what it's going to take to get it done. Always interesting thanks Eman
You really are the top with person and information with all R/C speed cars : trucks /buggies ect. I’m looking forward to this Hobbywing vs Castle Creations especially now Hobbywing with new sensored systems the 6s and Max 4 which I like 👍🏻 because you can use it with castle motors sensored!?.. thanks for these unbelievable videos. Hats off thanks Earl
Hi Earl you should always coat the gaskets in silicone oil so they will not stick and save the gasket. Any thing that has a gasket coat in oil or whatever I hope this helps you mate 👍😉😁 can't wait to see the video..
It's not too bad as it will fit on a rack system. I keep it on the bottom rack. Those hard plastic storage units are great because you can fit a ton of different scale rcs
Thanks for the tips 😀 My 8s outcast really needs stronger gears and I was going to get the Max 4 but decided I'm just going to change gearing and esc . Great video
I do agree with you Earl.. the way I drive I'd have it broken I'd push too much.... I'd so love a 2.0 losi they look amazing but I'd have to baby it afraid of a big bill... So like yourself I keep my RC'S 1/7 .. 1/10 scale so when I make a mistake crashing there more forgiving.... Hence the exb Mojave what an Rc. The 1/5 rc are too costly for me... But I'd kinda still love one maybe someday. But for now I'll watch you blast your's witch I love to see 💯
I love RC. All scales. Prices are different for parts for each scale but I find myself spending more and more. Addicted to RC I guess. I really like that Losi DbXL E
Amen to how they are tough to work on. I put the max5 800kv combo in mine and last time i had it out on a 18t it was really cold 30° and speed tested it and was at like 52mph and then it went into limp mode where it was like half power and esc flashing red. Did you have any trouble with yours Earl? It could've been the cold but i just got it ready to take it out again and give it a go again. Sorry if i might have asked you before as my memory isn't that great lol and i had asked a bunch of you guys before. Also how did you like these wheels on it? Did they hold up ok? Appreciate the help Earl. Oh hey also you should look into a Ridged adjustable molding stand. I use one at work to cut/rip long baseboad/molding and it works great as a rc stand especially for these 1/5th scales. Plus you can raise and lower it to any height to be sitting or standing while you work and its a narrow platform so they sit great! Plus its pretty cheap too. I like it because you can have the truck on the stand and work on your bench in front of you.
I also got the DBXL-E 2.0 with the Max5 G2 800kV combo. A lot of work? I think, it's not more or less work in comparison with other cars, but it's really more expensive. But in my opinion, it's also more fun. I also got a Traxxas UDR 1/7th scale. They're totally different and absolutely lovely fun cars. I never wanna miss one of them, but if I have to choose one, I would take the DBXL.
Nice let’s get it. I think the max5 combo is better to be honest. It’s more reliable I guess. But xlx2 probably got more power. The max 5 is really nice though I guess it’s just what you like and have the most luck with.
Great video as always Earl ..... In my opinion I think hobbywing products are perfect for bashing.... If you want to go fast get a castle..... Hobbywing is a little cheaper and you really don't need sensored for bashing..... Castle is good for crawling and speed in my opinion.....
Great video of my favorite rc. I run the xlx2 in my DBXLE 2.0. got the same wheels from Proline and one savox servo and highly recommended the Schwabentec Ride. Of course I’ve added a few Earl Stickers too. You might wanna check it on my channel. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Don't let big daddy governor Newsome see you charging those RC cars. He's already making people set their thermostat to 79 and no charging cars. Nice DBXL.
I would love to get the hobbywing 12s esc and motor combo but, at $800+, then having to buy 6s batteries, it's just too much. With the upgrades I have done and countless repairs, I really can't justify the cost of the 12s.
That’s funny I remember you saying so many times how much you hate diffs fluid when the 6s Kraton EXB problem happened I don’t mind it but a just barely have a RC with a diff u have a lot of diffs
Xlx2 is by far better brotha, its known to handle of +600 amp pulls, Max5 will only handle of -/+ 200 amp pulls from motor. Great video!! Keep up the great work!!🤟😁
@@earlmoorhead5555 I've pulled a little over 500 amps with mine on grass. Also remember this is not a bashing buggy, it's a desert buggy. All these jumps these people do with it are asking for a big repair bill. Flat land and small jumps is where the dbxl-e 2.0 shines.
I have a question I have a new Max 8 combo I just put in my Fireteam with the original spectrum receiver & controller & I have no power anywhere. Nothing comes on so I’m guessing the new esc needs to be set up with the spectrum receiver or do I need a new one. It’s killing me it’s just sitting. I just need POWER! Thanks
Max 8 has a weight limit sound like it’s to small for the fireteam 🤔no lights on the esc is a battery connection issue or a bad esc if the light on esc flash it will give you the code on the issue with the color and flashes?
The esc should work with all your receivers and radios but will probably need a remote calibration fallow that procedure in the esc owner manual first 👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 I think I’m going with the gas as it’s just what I know. But I’m stuck between the Dbxl and the 5t both 2.0. It’s mostly horse and cow pastures probably more so the plowed wheat fields. Plowed fields aren’t super smooth as your running in plow lines.
The turning radius as I’ve done reviews on the dbxl issue as it turn good one direction and very poor the other direction as a design flaw in the offset steering arm 👍
Xlx2 def can take more amps , heavy metal Rc had a xle2.0 with trenchers on it and his max 5 was cutting out and when swapped the esc with a xlx2 no more cutting out lol just saying, I thought you were going with a max4 system lol 😝 overkill

It's always fun to watch you wrench on RCs! 😎💯💯💯

Great work as usual. Looking forward to seeing how the new setup performs👍

Definitely been a while since we've seen these trucks! Glad we'll get some runs soon!! They are sweet looking trucks for sure!! 💯💯😉

Waiting for Earl to bust out a Raminator..😜😜😜😜😜….Haven’t seen any big Bertha sends in a while. Always enjoy the wrenching videos…Sweet Video
I got a hobby star 570 kv I was thinking of putting in something but I also have a leopard motor and a flier esc

Great tips on these big machines Earl! I think that for my RC collection, the X-Maxx is where I'll stop when it comes to the bigger rigs!
don't crash that Earl!!! upvoted!!!!
I figured u sold one of these bad boy's, yeah they do cost more but they are just so cool
I’ve never sold anything rc I’ve owned 😳🤪

I think it based off price for power I know sensored castle motor normally break after a few hard landing 👍👍

Yes 👍
For me castle would be the best option to bash. Hobbywing ain’t very durable
Castle sensored motors fail everytime I jump them hard the sensor breaks in the motor then it won’t run intill I remove the sensor wire 😳

I find the 1/5 scales easyier to work on and more fun but yeah they cost more then double a 1/8 scale in parts and esc and motors and stuff
Yes 👍 and you need more space to run a 1/5th scale and can’t bring to many of them in a car 😳🤔🤪
I appreciate this video 👌🏽😉✅🎯 I think running on 12s would be fun as well 😅 but I love this set up here👍🏽😎💯🔥💨🏁

Haha exactly
Better invest in a solar generator, inergy solar generator is sweet but costly.

I agree 💰😱
Appreciate the honesty it’s no turning back for me.
Love the colors of the v1!
Leopard 58113 1300kv and leopard 300amp esc on 8s.
Thank you

Yes but Bashers won’t come close to 500-600amp on loose dirt gravel road or even grass 🤔🤔will it ?

Newsom sucks. I hate that I live here. What an embarrassment. Cool vid earl good job
Thanks 🙏
I'm a 8th scale guy also brother, I don't even own a 5th. No room to transport or room to run it is limited for people like you say.
I just wish I can find a super durable body for my dbxl
Yes me to
💯👍
Used rear end grease out of a car is meaner than cat puke

Will dbxle 2.0 body panels fit on a gen one cage?
No they dont
Do you prefer the DBXL E2.0 to the gas 2.0? I’m torn between the DBXL gas 2.0 and the 5t 2.0.
The electric is faster and easier to maintain but the sound of two stroke is fun it’s a choice on what you like

@@earlmoorhead5555 like majorly noticeable? Better handling as in goes where it’s told easier, or stays planted on the ground and less likely to flip?
The turning radius as I’ve done reviews on the dbxl issue as it turn good one direction and very poor the other direction as a design flaw in the offset steering arm 👍
can the dbxle 1 body panel fit the 2.0 and vice versa
No as the shock towers are different the main chassis the same but cage & front and rear is different ⚠️🤔
Boom

Earl, honestly brother....you have a rich uncle don't you lol. Ok, I'm in with a new V2, but this 1/5 stuff....strictly entertainment for me
Wish I did have a Rich uncle 😱🤪
I had one of those and it broke every time i ran the thing total pos imo
I’ve been lucky with both I guess even sending it well past what it should take 😱😳🤔🚀🚀
