The ends probably bolt on for material use efficiency. It would take a lot more raw stock to have those sticking out the ends than to just make this center piece and the end pieces separately.

That sticker shock is why I won't add them up either. When you spend a long period of time building them it's not terribly bad. I'd hate to know how much I have in my ryft as well. But boy is it a ball! I'm getting ready to change it up again though. I took it out the other day with another guy for a very short period of time and I simply wasn't happy with how it performed. It's like trying to drive a 1500hp truck down main street.
I did a RC audit for the past year and I was certainly crying when I added it up😭 -i'm back after 15yrs so I suppose that I should have expected. 4 trucks. 2 bashers with hop ups and 2 show/shelf trucks with all parts I can find. $8300 total😱 $2300 just for my Mojave😒 Makes me want to never ever drive it💙 EVER!😁

I use DDM racing's HD dbxl springs with 50W Losi shock oil. I have seen others use A&D springs. They are even stiffer but not as easy to get in the USA.
🤣 And that's why I never add up the dollar amount I have in an RC 😜 I'm glad to hear that your going to get the Vitavon chassis braces and top plate. That is the first upgrade that I did to mine.
If you need stronger progressive springs. I would suggest buying some 1/10 scale crawler springs and put them inside the larger 5th scale spring around the lower portion of the shock shaft. Double coil over like they do with the valve springs on the head of a GM or Ford engine. Just a suggestion.

I put fast Eddie's bearings in my E-Revo 2.0 and they locked up from driving through morning grass with a little bit of dew on it the tracks is barons have less chance of walking up from moisture than those things do I thought it was weird because they're supposed to be really good but they weren't for me
Had the same happen to me with the stock bearings that came in a rtr mojave. Buff and polish those pieces they'll clean up well. once polished, apply Mothers aluminum creme and that will help seal that raw polished aluminum. You MAY be able to re-anodize them, but every time you do, it removes a bit of base material.
