I like the factory wheels being beedlocks. I just wish I could find belted beadlock tires to fit the stock rims. Til then I’m going to just Gorilla Tape the inside of the stock tires and see how that works. Another great Video Bud!
I quit reusing & cleaning bearings when i picked up an avid-rc sponsorship decades ago. Just so much more cost effective to replace/throw away the bearings than to clean & reuse nowadays. BUT, i remember a time after every race weekend, remove them, clean, oil, replace the seals, & get ready for the next weekend. (I truly don't miss those days!)
I have never had flex with my stock losi trans case. To run A bigger pion gear, I just modded it but this Vitavon trans case does look like the best on the market tho.
If you want to donate this car to me I wouldn't argue. Lol A bit too expensive for a fixed income but it is my dream rc. Keep it up man, love the videos
Well, the first thing I would’ve done it got rid of the centre diff!! that’s where all your power is going! Get rid of that and your machine is way faster!
Love ur vids man..I thought I was the only one who loved vitavon until I seen u. Seems a lot of people are hot racing but if u ask me vitavon is top dog
I’m using Duratrax Six Pack SC 5 tires Joe. So far so good. They’re kind of in the same ballpark as the stocks in terms of size…..maybe a bit bigger. Cheers, Kev
You can run BRP’s since it’s a actual 1/5 scale and there are adapters that will work, you can also run Taylor RC Genesis wheel/tires. Neither will balloon. How you use your RC’s the BRP’s wound be your best bet. Both can be found at Taylor RC or Detroit Performance RC(US distributor).
Hey bud love your stuff. I have a losi I MTXL and take the tires apart and put gorilla tape around the foams. I like to cut the tape in half length ways you don't have to cover the whole outer diameter of the foam. Also I have good luck with the IMEX Tires on ebay. Thank you
@@ExocagedRC Cool Joe. You’re going to dig them. The two inch were nice, but made the width wider than the K8S. The one inch are perfect. If you want to make the DBXL slightly evil, pick up the spiked wheel nuts from DDM……..they look great. Cheers, Kev
Run more gear, get more speed... then, the next weakest component gets destroyed. It's the Eternal Quest of Performance, an endless chase of new improvements and old components, now stressed beyond their design capacity.
Exocaged do you know what the difference between the trany mount you used in this video and the current version listed on vitavons website? I ask because the current one pictured on vitavons website has two mounting holes on the front top that I have know idea what they are for.
I've ran all tires just about in my upgraded Dbxle 2.0... The best tire is the badlands mx43 not even a debate.. Next to these are the outcast 8s backflips or the duratrax six pack x
The Outcast 8s Backflips wont handle the 1/5 DBXLE. The backflips blow up on a stock Outcast 8s. Ive blown mine off the wheels more times than i can count. 50% of the time the glue lets loose, the other 50% is the tire shreds. Ive got a few sets and will probably have them for a long time because i dont use it much, ive had nothing but issues with my Outcast. Im getting tired of carrying the thing. Ive never run the MX43s so i cant give my opinion on them. I have run MX38s. The Duratrax ive seen people rip pretty easy so i never bought a set of those for anything. The Giant Grip Mad Max tires are one of the strongest tires out there for a 1/5 scale.
You need to duct tape the inside of the tires and for that much power it may take multiple layers. Trophy truck maximum speeds are limited by tires FYI, so more mass moving at higher speeds requires reinforcement.
I like the design of the Vitavon diff housing's over the stock design, I have the FID Racing billet alloy housing's which are the same design as the plastic stock parts so are what six piece I believe a long time since I swapped out to the alloy, so do you know if they are a direct fit for the petrol DBXL I have if they are then I will be putting in an order for two plus a load of parts for my UDR and the SBR clone (30 degrees North Super Desert Truck). as I have broken a couple of GPM alloy parts on both. I am really surprised you did not break anything on the right front, I have gone over to alloy lower suspension arms front and rear along with 'C' hubs and 'C' hub carriers front. I run either Pro-Line closed cell or Hostile Zero growth inserts and have not used any of the cheaper brand's as I have had nothing good from using them a while back I had King Motor/Roven/MadMax/FID Racing tyres and inserts and they all blow out as all my gas have big bore engines in them.
Man i love that raw aluminum look. I need some Vitavon in my life I dont think my wallet does though 😬🤣 Im sure they make some belted tires for the losi 5T or some foams
180 for each bulkhead and 160 for the center diff. 520 seems like a lot for an upgrade. Is it worth it? Do we know if this brand is quality and has longevity?
I was just looking at the prices for these aluminum parts, I wonder why the rear diff is almost $100 more than the front. Edit: I have the pro-line badlands mx43's, I took some 120lb test braided fishing line and wrapped around the center of the tire. Keeps it from ballooning.
The size and the shape of it is what ups the price. The diff case needs to be formed to accept the design of the rear ring gear. The pinion comes into the diff housing outside of the diff, opposite of what youd be used to. Instead of the teeth being on the side the diff cup is on, the teeth are on the outside.
U should hit up Mark Santamaria!!!! He just got a shit ton of 5t wheels and tires j concepts etc!!!!!! He cant and won't run j concepts!!!! I'm sure he'd give u a awesome deal!!!
For how much it cost it’s crap all plastic the diffs must be shit look at all the chewed up metal.I’m in 2 minds .all vids I see they all breaking after few times out 😎👍🏻🤙🏻🇬🇧

No apology necessary, so much fun to watch you having fun
We can tell how enthusiastic and how much enjoyment you still get from your hobby😉 but I guess it's more than that now it's your Pro Vocation 👍👍
Finally!!! Something that can keep my motor and center diff in line !!!! Thanks and I’ll keep watching to see what’s next
Geeze that Bulkhead is like holding a softball!! Its massive!! im use to driving 10th scale RCs
I use Proline Masher X HP Belted tires. I have blown Duratrax Six Pack X Belted a couple of times. Good luck so far with the Masher X's!!!
That thing is a legitimate vehicle! Are you sure it doesn’t need to be registered 😂

It's OK if your sponsored or get freebies 👍 for those of us in the real world its make-do-and-mend as usual..
I have a nice stock of bearings, but none in this size yet. I will have some ordered soon.
Use middle solid differential eliminator, haven't been waisting many tires after.
I tried that and broke the rear output pin in the center spool
@@ExocagedRC wow, okay

use (BELTED) tire's, it's the best option to go with, gotta go heavy with it! Nice testing! (Grade B+)
Joe do the vitavon bearings come with the vitavon transmission.
You might want to take a look at the duratrax’s. Their rims are okay but the foams are great. Just got to vent them on the outside
Thank you

They all have great stuff, but yeah I like Vitavon for sure
Made in China and takes a month to get here
Yup, proline belted badlands and you will be good to go
Another great video Joe, such a shame about the tyres but with the 22t pinion thats really woken up the Losi. What a beast of a car epic!

just looked them up, very nice tire.

Thanks man, I tried the tape thing but must have done it wrong, the tape just came loose in the tire so I have never tried it again
Make sure it is gorilla tape or T Rex tape. Those tapes have triple the adhesive than duct, etc..
I just got in MOD1 18T and 21T pinions. The 18 is for the Xmaxx and the 21 is for my Typhon!
Another thing……try out the DGI hub extenders. They come in 1 and 2 inch versions. They widen the stance of this rig significantly.
Got the 1” on the way

Proline Masher X belted tyre/wheel for Xmaxx and Kraton 8s would fit

From what I can see on this, yeah they will fit. The only difference is battery trays and trans motor mount.
RC MAX tires are the best and super light weight
Rc max tires can take all kinda of abuse trust me there the best out on the market in my opinion you will love them 😊
It sure has that power now, need some good tires now I'd like to see how fast it goes now
Yeah I’ve got the center diff plugged and a spool ordered for it.

Vitavon needs to make a sealed center diff for arrma 1/8
I’m hoping he can make us solid quality internal diff gears for the arrmas and axial trucks.
Well you didn't get to run it like you wanted to. I want to want if you will have any heat issue with the 22t pinion gear.

LoL man when this think flat lands from 20ft up its like a 747 crash land😀

Yeah. In all honesty I don’t think it had a chance to get hot from this drive.
@@ExocagedRC i kinda figured with how short it was. Either way. Keep up the great work man. :)
Junk tires plus repeated jumping with a 30 pound truck destroys the foams the rim comes down and cut the foam in half
Rc max rims and tires
Go with a belted tire!
Which one?
@@ExocagedRC Proline Masher X HP All Terrain BELTED Tires Mounted
