    Good fruitful information for thought. I’m new to the hobby and been researching everything I can to make all of the right decisions. I’ve had my share of RC cars in my childhood then drones as an adult. Now wanting to get into RC’s and need info like this because the hobby has changed so much throughout the years. Thanks for the update and please keep up with the information updates.

    I've ran all the tires in this video. I have 2 dbxl-e's. One has badlands and one has trenchers. Both 17t. But I run castle electronics. Stock tires and Copperheads blew apart with that power and gearing. The prolines and my madmaxx giant grips hold just fine.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  2 года назад +1

      Good to know. Running stock gearing and electronics the Copperheads seem to hold up pretty well. We haven't lost one yet, and they control well. Your rigs sound fun, but expensive. Thanks for sharing. AJ

    Nice comparison video! Thanks! I am here looking for alternate tires for my Kraton 8s. I'm running a track mostly, hard pack clay. The CH are a good all around tire, well suited for most I'm sure, but I'm looking for quality and durability along with more traction. The Losi DBXL (and all Losi 1/5) use closed cell foam inserts, which are a huge advantage over all the other tires mentioned here. Open cell inserts are trash in my experience, they just don't hold up, period. Whether we're talking Arrma, TRX, Proline.. all come with open cell inserts which don't even last as long as the tires themselves usually. I'm appalled by the price that Jconcepts and Proline want for their 1/5 beadlock wheels and tires. Sure, the tires and wheels are decent, but open cell inserts with a $200 set of wheels/tires? Then to twist the knife by forcing us to buy another set of tires just to get the inserts from PorkLine, but at least they offer the tires separately from the wheels, which is more than I can say for Jconcepts.. sad.

    You probably would have really liked the outcast 8s tires since you like the k8s tires so much! even lighter and a tad smaller. Great video! you made me want to try my trenchers on the dbxl.

    I have some of the knobby style ones on mine that I had got in that trade but he also gave me stock ones too. I think im gonna run the stock ones as I drive mostly on street and grass. Plus I don't want to be tearing up my yard lol. Now when you say vent the tires you just do 3 small holes in the tire and not the foam too? And do you just use a 3mm hex heated up to poke your holes? Thanks as always bud!

    Excellent upload, great info, thank you! I was JUST about to order a set of the Method RC Terraform All-Terrain Belted tires for the beast, they seem to have a good rep, and I'm partial to belted for this size for obvious reasons. Have you tried these at any point? I see their 1/8 size tires on the Arrma Fireteam 6S fairly regularly, and people say mostly (if not entirely) positive things about them. Anyway, now I'm reconsidering, either the Method RC's or the Kraton ones, which frankly, I really REALLY like the look of...! Thanks for all the excellent info!

    As you go wider on tires, you'll need to add the hub extenders. When you're turning left or right at full throttle, the ballooning will catch the body with the standard hubs. Also as people add power, bead locks are the way to go. I've heard a lot of people saying the glued tires are not strong enough for the heavy and powerful dbxl-e 2.0.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  2 года назад +2

      That’s valid. However the wider you make it the more vulnerable the suspension is. I think it’s a balancing act. If body rub is an issue widening the stance can be the only viable option. Thanks for commenting 😎👍

    I highly disagree with your comments regarding the stock tires. Wheels are junk, as you stated with the hairline fractures. Those fractures grow however. And the tires and foams explode with even the slightest powertrain upgrade (which this rig desperately needs).

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  2 года назад +2

      I understand. Keep in mind, we are running a stock machine for the power train and our tires held up just fine. Beefing up the motor and such is outside of our tests here. Thank you for the information. Your insight is greatly appreciated. 😎👍
