boom!
We do not care
You may not care, but Kev does.
That front suspension is not that strong
"If you got a smile on your face, you're doing it right" is the perfect advice for any hobby. There's no wrong way to enjoy a hobby, as long as you're happy then it's good!
not if you keep animals! if you want to keep a fish in a whater bottle and this makes you smile, its wrong anyway. but with non-living things, you can do what you want.
Unless your hobby inlcludes dangerous products like fire arms and explosives. Then there are definitely a few things you can do wrong which could result in a deadly situation for you or bystanders
Amen to that
I would revise that slightly to "if you've got a smile on your face, and you aren't hurting anyone, then you're doing it right"
he said that lol
Bestest of best comments ever Kev, "if it puts a smile on your face its worth every penny and that is really all that matters" well said Kev
I plugged the vent holes on all my rims and mount the tire after keeping everything in the freezer. It adds a little bit of air pressure which for my driving style and personal preference has definitely been a benefit.
Kev, I use to put thin cable ties around those wheels they fit perfectly between the knobs on the tyre so doesn’t interfere with traction either and stops them expanding 👍🏻
KT: *rams it fullspeed into a gate*
also KT: 'how can it be broken already?!'
🤣
/surprisedpikachu ...

🤣
It can obviously be broken since he’s driving it carelessly RC car parts can range up from $300-$964
@@harlennartker4006what golden encrusted silver parts are you buying?
THIS! This is exactly why I love your videos, Kevin!
Everyone should enjoy their hobby, their way!
Thanks again for the epic video!
LONG LIVE TALBOT
Long live Talbot's RC cars... OK, I'm kidding. Ha, ha!
👏
4:53 - Reminds me of watching NASCAR years ago with Ned Jarrett announcing. If he saw a tire running around the track by itself, he'd break out into song: "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!"
i memer that!
A bit late, but.. That would have been Darrel Waltrip instead of Ned
Greetings Kevin from Western Pennsylvania, USA
Kevin : Play with it until you break it, then play with it some more until it is destroyed or no longer able to drive and needs MAJOR repair. Lol
It is so much fun to watch you run the heck out of these RC vehicles and put them through REAL torture tests. I always come to your videos to see what will last and/or survive the "Kevin-Test." Traxxas, Arrma, or Banggood special, it doesn't matter, you always give your honest opinion whether a vehicle is worth the money to buy or junk and run away. Thank you for putting smiles on our faces. Bash on, brother!!
Those type of tires is all my dad runs on his 1/5th scale, I use more of a step pin type on mine. When he put his build engine on it, he broke all sorts of stuff. But, once he got all that sorted out, he hasn't had to replace any parts on it in a couple of years. FYI, I have a King Motor Dark Knight and I love it. I raced it for a few years but I normally just bash it now. I have had it for over 10 years. I did break the back tab off the motor in a race and I did have to replace the throttle/break servo on it. It has been a solid RC car and I run it. A few years ago, I upgrade the electronics on it. I put my Spektrum radio on it, Savox servos and I put the 7200 Mah Lipo on it and a Killer Bee fail safe on it.
You inspire me
Kevin says "a little bit of Loctite" and the screw disappeared in blue! Cheers Kev! Love your content 😊
When you drilled it into the gate, I spit beer out of my mouth lol! 😂
Put stickier tyres on, break drive shafts. The same thing happens with full-sized cars.
So basically need a stronger shaft? 🤣 No pun intended or maybe intended lmao.
I wouldn't be surprised if it cracked from hitting that nut that came loose, who knows though.
Staying up was worth it for once
Hi kev,I had all these issues on my dbxl and finally bit the bullet and bought flm cvd shafts for the centre shafts and fid heavy duty for the main drive shafts, held up alot better
Always really liked the Losi DBXL. It's such a great platform and a good balance between large-scale-size and smaller-scale-bashability.
Kev I use Angel and Demon racing driveshafts on my Dbxl after the front broke on its second run. Much stronger not had any problems 👍
Website? USA shipping? Need upgrades.
I never get bored watching Kevin Talbot
For high speed bashers: Block rim holes, drill holes in rubber tyre. For crawlers: Block rim holes only. Bashers have high wheel speed and any water will fling out - they need the tyre to be able to deform under load. Crawlers have no high wheel speed so water will end up degrading the foams. The extra pressure inside the crawler tyre can help performance - similar to a few psi inside the tyre when trying to find traction
Losi has new shafts for the DBXL and DBXLE. They have a retainer ring that keeps the pin from coming out. They have been available for a few months now
👍🤜🤛💯
Kev always seems to be having a blast and enjoying life but god damn it would be hard for me to live in a place that seems to rain 75% of the time
I lived in England for about 3 years, and to be honest I wouldn't say it rains 75 percent of the time (depends what part of England really). But in general, yes it does have quite a lot of days of rain, generally light to moderate but certainly not 75 percent of the time. The overall sunshine hours though, is quite low compared to a lot of places 🤷♂️.
Rains all the time..........rainforest is missing
@@mankind8088i live in a rainforest bassicly. It gets old. Hoh rainforest is nearby. I think they get 250-300" of rain. Up on Vancouver island they get closer to 600" 😬 yeah, it gets old. Ive dreamed of living in los Angeles area forever. All of the year round racing everything. The begining of bmx skateboarding and everything else since the 70's on. Van halen house parties! 😂 Ahh The good ol days.
The best rc channel
Kevin I love your attitude. "If you have a smile on your face you're doing it right!" - KT
Hey Kev, your videos are absolutely awesome, so I can't stop watching them.
It's so much fun watching you having fun with your RC models.
The weight of this Losi is killing it everytime. I've seen it in many videos. I saw one video, first run, first jump, not that high and just broke the rear arm(s) and suspension. It's not my car though i love watching it in videos like this.
More Losi DBXL-E Content on my channel!😁😁👍👍
Dbxle is definitely not a basher.. Need an Xmaxx or XRT for that
Watching your videos heals my inner child hood keep posting more awesome rc videos❤️🙏
Thanks for this video. You saved me a lot of money. I was interested in this hobby, but you showed me the bottomless money pit it is.
Thanks for your help.
Much appreciated.
Yeh totally agree. Had RC car as a kid and broke everytime I used it. Bought a new lipo powered cheapy - insanely fast but still stupidly fragile. Then you look at these big pro things as they are even bigger money pits. I’ll stick to proper cars.
To be fair you probably watched the worst video as an introduction. Not all rc cars are this fragile, and losi was never really known for high quality. This thing is just so heavy. Plenty of stronger cars if you’re still interested, the slash vxl, the xmaxx, any of the 3-4s arrma trucks. It may look expensive but given that most of the components are plastic it ends up being cheap. I think it’s only like 30 bucks for a brand new xmaxx chassis and like 15 for each bulkhead
@@da66er74 Ok class listen up..
1. If you want to bash stick to plastic ( preferably Traxxas rc's)
2. Remember.. Metal bends, plastic flexes! Bent metal will never be truly straight again after sustaining any major damage. Metal chassis' and parts are better for light bashing and speed runs (easier on the wallet too)
3. The Losi featured in this vid is not fragile. It's a huge 1/5 scale buggy with alot of metal and wasn't designed to be bashed this way.. Mr. Talbot is just a special kind of savage 😂 Stick to smaller size rigs to minimize damage to your rc's and your wallet 😉
That’s the thing with big RC’s
“The bigger it is, the bigger the repair bill” but they are hella sick anyway
On the plus side, the tires held up great 👍
Hitting the bearing lol well I look at it like this if your the one paying to play you have the right to work on your rc's how ever you see fit. Thank you for all you teach us and show us
The positivity.... Big smile your doing it right...I don't know why ppl try n hate in this guy... His hard earned money his toys... Love the hobby
Hey Kev, respect for not hitting the skateparks when skaters are around. I build skateboard parks for a living here in Canada and am both an avid skater and an RC enthusiast with an X-Maxx. Thanks for setting a good example! P.S. My X-Maxx survived a 100' cliff jump, it's on my channel. 😁
Love all your vids Kev, you always put a huge smile on mine and my kids faces. Blessings to you and your family
Great piece of advice you gave. "If you've got a smile on your face, you're doing it right."
Tires were like that in the 80s when I started RC buggy racing!
Thanks for showing the parts breaking and how to fix them. Good content. You just earned another subscriber!
I'm amazed at all the issues that you have been having with it. Hopefully you get them all sorted out. But not at all surprising, most RC's you got run them and see what parts you break the most often and either have stock or upgrade the frequent offenders. Find all the weak spots.
Really you amazed
Im not amazed the way he drives theses is a bit wreckless but cant judge the way he spends his own money
@@brandonegan523 Oh absolutely, in this vid he doesn't go as hard as some of his others and the DBXL is a rig that is meant to take some abuse. At least as far as 1/5th scales go. But breaking stuff when you are hard on it is the name of the game, and after finding the weak spots it should be pretty durable afterwards. That's how I run my 1/5 scales, find the weak spots and upgrade that.
I’ve been watching Keven for so many years and he’s so right about so many things that people think they know but they don’t. Thanks, Kev.
There ain’t nothin’ better than motocross and Rc 🤙
I love how long it took him to notice the shock was busted, and then he sent it anyway 😂
Yo Kevin how’s it going
This is the principle of life. ”If you’ve got a smile on your face, you’re doing it right.”
1.5 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!! 🤯👍👍💪💪
And this is why I don't mess with Losi, seem to handle fantastic but there super expensive, and so are the parts, especially considering there not super tough!
Great for grass Bashers and big dirt tracks I imagine.... Or like Thomas P TP Parts RC Extreme @ his gravel pits ❤️
Great vid as always Kev
I think the intention for most Losi is racing. .
Losi is a great brand honestly. If your jumping a 30 pound truck and land concrete it’s going to break no matter what the material it’s made out of 🤦♂️
bwahahahaha!!!
hi kev, can you test the db pro
Many greetings from Switzerland
Bro, that smile is blinding me! 😵😁
Great video as always Kevin! Keep them coming. I enjoy every single video you upload. Never boring as other videos I've seen from others.
Losi think rtr means ready to rebuild. My lasernut broke every time I took it out until I finally went through the entire car. Had to add a ton of shims to the diff and tighten almost every bolt as half the cars bolt had backed out in shipping
I think all rc cars are like this. I have a traxxas stampede if you even look at it funny it breaks.
Be great to see more rc cars at ark race way kev
i have been watching your videos for 3 years on different accounts i love watching you and i just got my first rc car it a was a katana imex
Where’s Stemp?! Lol we need you and him in a boat!
Kev, didn’t got your Eachine EBT05 yet? It’s so fast!!
Would love to see more of the slash 4x4 ultimate and the sledge🔥
Keep up the good work bro💪🏼
Thank you brother I will use that excellent advice. If you got a smile on your face you are doing it right!
I always love the extra tips and tricks I pick up on this channel
Kev early you should upgrade your wltoys k989 or the wltoys 184131 to the max with banggood special parts.(If you have time😄)
Kev, the only issue with blocking the vent hole would be during large jumps, adds a lot of pressure which can pop the tire. Shouldn't be a concern if you're not sending it to the moon and even then probably not much of an issue as many apparently think since this is like the gajillionth time you've mentioned it 😉
To be fair the tape should let the air out long before the tyre pops.
@@captainchaos3053 if it's on the outside, had a buddy put it on the inside despite my protests, the stock Xmaxx tires are especially bad at taking the extra pressure from what I've seen so far. That said, I pretty much only buy belted tires anymore. They're more expensive but seem to be lasting way longer than any of the stock non-belted tires...
Lmfao thats not true at all...
@@Abagofweed420 what isn't? That over pressure can pop tires or that Xmaxx stock tires are not that great or that belted tires appear to be lasting longer than the stock ones?
I love the sarcastic "ugh I was rough on it and it broke"
Keving being the adult version of the evil kid from Toy Story :D Thanks for the commitment to content!
Loving the tiny mallet
Show de carro e imagens parabéns!
Nice 👌
Smiles on your face for sure.
Buggy:breaks
Kev: keep it going!!
"Bla Bla Bla"
One of the best sounds I've ever heard
More nitro content plz I bought my first rc in 20yrs a few months ago because you made owning a nitro look like a headache and totally awesome at the same time.
Kev, I've taken my DBXL-E apart too many times to not consider myself a pro lol. What I've done is on the front drive cups I tripped some gorilla tape and wrapped it twice around the drive cup to cover the holes where that pin can slide through, locktite the grub screw holding the pin in place and I have 0 issues there. I run Badlands MX-43 tires, had to taper out the hole since they are for Xmaxx rc trucks. I also have swapped every and I mean every screw from the bottom to the center diff with stainless steel screws they hold much better with locktite. Anyways you're the one I follow for tips and tricks lol I just figured I'd offer some insite on what I do to keep mine held together and running. I also have it geared up, and ampd up so I've broken quite a few parts here and there.
RC Jesus saves my Wednesday!
I was really considering a Hammer Rey or a Lasernut before I settled on an Outcast 4S V2.
I am so glad I waited.
Hey kev! FastLane Machine makes 4ever driveshafts. They're guaranteed for life.
I like how you always have ragtime music and metal
hi kevin i just want to see if you will see this
dude you are awesome butt what you best rc car???
xmaxx and raminator
Kev you should know.. although you helped the tire not blowing, putting those tapes inside the tire and especially the little ones for the hole, you messed up with the balance of the entire wheel! You gave to the can a tremendous amount of vibration at the higher RPMs.. Maybe that's the reason the car is falling apart..
😂 you’re the worst! I love it!
When you ran into that gate I broke out laughing. 😂
I love how your always so happy! 🤩
I came home sick from school and I saw u uploaded and it made my day better but also I wish I could afford an xmaxx
Hey, I agree with you with taping up the wheels and tires!👍🏼
Hi Kevin, just bought myself an xmaxx. Been driving the E-revo 2.0 for a while now and have enjoyed it thoroughly and will for a long more time. Love to see more of your xmaxx and maybe Stemp can join so he feels a bit more part of it rather than you pummeling him with the rammenator 😉😂
I dont think an rc car has given you so much trouble in one video.
Losi Tough Baby!!!
Kev you should invest in that track and help them fix it up, that would be a really good track with some new carpet
Having fun is what matters 🤔 BUT: if you do everything other people tell you NOT to do with your car AND your car is constantly falling apart… there might be some truth there 🤷♂️
i had a losi DBXL-e for 4 years an never hade a problem with the drive shaft, it may needs a little maintenance that's all
Poor Losi. 😭😭😭
ITS GETTIN IT NOW 🔥
"Probably dodgey maintenance" got me LOL!
Kevin: "Ohh... How can you be broken already?"
Right before launching the car 20ft off a ramp whilst engulfed in sparks and broken plastic 😂
I RIDE DIRTBIKES 4 TIMES A WEEK AND I do rc so that's why I love kevs vids keep it an
dang that tires are hot
You should tighten the screws of the orange piece in a cross pattern since it's a circle.
I think you take the title from Stimpy as to who is the most destructive RC driver, and I love it.
Too true mate, I had an rc that had 3 wheels in the end 😂when I was a kid in the 80’s, still put a smile on my face and was gutted when my mum and dad threw it out 😀
The fact he said there is no wrong or right way Of doing things in this hobby as long as you got a smile on your face your good lol I do a lot of part builds that fly there’s definitely no wrong or right way when it comes to rcs.
You are the best RUclipsor I have ever seen and you have so many rc car it is in sane
I’ll listen to rc Richard Hammond any day before i listen to a rc James may! Love your videos man. Awesome seeing this kind of extremes. I’m all new to this so it’s mind bottling to me
If I could afford one... happy days! Everyday I would run it
I love the she'll be right way of things! Wire dont reach just put it on here, few zip ties and cut the shell😂
OMG… I literally spit my lunch out when you stuck it in the gate…love it.. keep up with he amazing videos!!!!
I love your videos
