- In this video we fit a after market eBay motor mount for large pinion gears and a 24t pinion gear from Saga customs. Also i just got some New Wheels/tires that had to be fitted for the truck, Badlands MX43's. After the shop fun we have some fun with another local speed runner and then finally a awesome 70mph off-road speed run. Next video the Losi gets a giant power upgrade.

Can a max 5 esc handle a 24 tooth pinion on a 800kv motor.
I only own one Hobbywing max 5, and I never really pushed it. I think it would do okay.
how do you stop the skeeter from catching wind and wanting to wheelie?
In my later videos I hit 90mph+ and had to zip tie my front shocks to keep the front down low and back shocks set high.
I have 23t pinion whit the a factory motor mount 🤷
what kind of speeds are you getting with the 23T pinion? Are all the electronics stock on your Losi?
Question, how long do you charge your batteries? For the DBXL
Just depends on charger and mah. Rule of thumb is charge one Amp per 1000 mah on the battery. Usually takes 30 minutes on 8000mah batteries.
Take that dremel away. Nothing is safe.

Would it be ok if I kept everything stock and changed the mount and pinion to 24t and everything work fine , or would it be a long term issue? I definitely like the concept of not having to change anything out and keeping it stock. Wit those speeds I wouldn’t worry with changing the motor or esc
You really only can do a few runs before you have to give it a break from heat. If you want to bash all day at these speeds 12s is the way to go

Batteries make all the difference! Also it was a cold morning and i didn't take the time to warm up the lipos.
I ordered the motor mount through you link and a few pinion gears. I do a 19, 21, 24 pinion. I have fans on stock motor and stock esc, I run the car in a smaller area not looking for top speed. Will I over heat on 24t pinion running 8s?

@@pfunk72 It was the first time I used my SMC SRD batteries in this truck as well. I have all my pb's on these batteries. I would highly suggest owning a DBXL-E, it's an amazing RC!

@@zagertRC Hi when I click on the link to the Losi V1 motor mount nothing shows up do you have an actual part number for it?
Does he make a mount that doesn’t require drilling out a bigger hole for the drive cup to fit for the version 2 Dbxl e or is this pretty much standard in order for this to fit?
No issues with the drive cup. Just have to drill one mounting hole for most strength.
@@zagertRCI seen in your video where you had to use a dremel to make the whole larger. Is this standard for all his mounts. I just ordered one

Which one should I go for between X-maxx vs Losi 2.0 DBXLE?
My requirement is should be fun and speedy and durable
Xmaxx is super slow out of the box in my opinion. I own both and love both, but the Losi I would definitely choose over the xmaxx. They're both very durable, but parts for the xmaxx are cheaper. Owning both is the best answer 🤣👍

I finally hit 62 mph with my dbxl-e 2.0. 18t/46t. I think it will go faster with a longer run. I'm also going to order a 22t pinion and see how that goes with the 46t spur. If that's turns out to be a little much, I have a 48t spur. I run the xlx2/1100kv combo.
That's the same combo I'm putting in mine 💪
On what battery
@@chrismagallanes8858 I have 3 different ones I use. SMC 9700 mah 120c 4s, HRB 9500 mah 120c 4s and I have a set of the gens ace 11,000 mah 100c 4s. I suggest the smc's or the hrb's. The gens ace are way too big for the tray, I wish I hadn't of bought them.
@@zagertRC It did hit 66 mph with a 22/48 on grass. I'm thinking the gearing is a little steep and not allowing the motor to get up to full speed plus mine weighs about 40 lbs with the batteries and upgrades I've done. I know you don't want to get hit by that at speed because you'll feel it in the morning.

Thank you! I had Lucid RC fans on my motor in the video, but I wasn't even running them. I usually don't run a fan speed running. Also unfortunately the owner hasn't made any fans for months and no stock has been available.

Love your energy bro. You make me laugh especially when throwing the jelly 😂😂😂😂 i wanted to ask did you blow the esc on 24t, cogging issues ? My dbxl e runs cool on 18t so was thinking to go to 23t or 24t, whats your thought or experience?
Yeah it definitely starts to cogg after running a few minutes with the bigger pinions, but it can handle it for a few speed runs.
@@zagertRC when your esc was cutting out was it the gearing that was the issue?. I want to be able to bash as well as speed don't want to change pinion mid bash, do you think 22t be a sweet spot?
@@anime4idiots A small change in teeth is a big change with these gears. I think a 20t pinion would be plenty. Or you could buy a smaller spur gear and keep the 18t. They have 48 and 46 spur gears. Otherwise change out the ESC and really get some more power!😆👍
