One of the guys I bash with sends his DBXLE 2.0 without fear. Did a backflip last weekend! Had to be over 15‘ up to do that. Mine is still new to me so I’m more cautious. Have a XLX2/1100 combo in but about to take it apart to put in the Vitavon front and rear diff bulkheads and center transmission case. FYI, The smallest gear the Vitavon transmission will take is 18t. Learning from you and seeing how you are doing things. (I mounted my esc sideways like you did so I was happy to see you solve it the same way I did) Now I might order the Vitavon hubs after seeing your breakage. Thanks for this series, it’s coming at a perfect time for my build. Hurricane
That was quick 😵💫 sorry for that, i changed my hubs right out of the box, VITAVON for rear are best, i would change the front assembly too, TLR parts are available everywhere 👍 hope to see it soon on track ….. next would be the diffs bearings, will not last long on dirt 🤷🏻♂️ steering is perfect 👍👍👍
G'day Earl, I just bought one of these, just over $1800 bucks here in Australia, its alot of coin for an rtr rc, interesting to see how it goes. Usually Losi are constructed pretty good. Ive also got a Losi eight x/e 2.0 coming, going to set it up as a nitro woth a OS B2104 and T2100 pipe combo.
I can’t even imagine I’m at 1:8 scale with a crawler/trail Rc. & it’s much heavier then my 1:10 scale ones. I would think the weight is what would make it break easier but it doesn’t matter how expensive or pretty they are you gotta use them & as they say shit happens. My guess is people without a clue probably think what an idiot he broke it again. We’ll ya you go out use it as it was intended & crap just breaks. Today I took my newest crawler out after going though & checking everything upgrading stuff & first run the rear drive shaft comes apart. I wouldn’t call it breaking because a pin & small spring came off so I just contacted the manufacturer with part #s & will be back on the rocks. But I know exactly where it came off & was putting it through its paces. Thankfully I had another Rc with me ready to go. Nice rig though. Keep taking them out & ya its a bummer when they break but the constant smile on my face makes it all worth it.
I did inspect the rc but lucky I’ve broke the front hub and you know Losi you have to buy everything so I have a rear hub in stock I’ll use for now see if it hold up 👍👍
I want money back on this episode🤬 I just finished making my coffee and haven't even drank it and you're BROKE ALREADY oh wait it's a LOSI you're already broke from expensive repairs😂🤣
You sounded so excited to go run! And then that, sorry😒😔Your losi reminds me of my hpi baja 5b ss I had for 13 years(sold 3 years ago). 10 years ago rpm made good stuff! Aluminum upgrade the only option now!
Yeah, it seems like that shouldn’t have broken. A lot of money in that thing to begin with out of the box, but yeah, I guess the engineers didn’t plan for earplug diff limiters. Looking forward to the aluminum hubs next. Likely followed by aluminum control arms.
I was having issues with my diffs after I locked the rear and put 50k in the front of the Mojave.. broken diff pins, drive cups, stripped ring gears. I went back to lighter oils and all seems well now.
Wow….. sorry about the breakage E….. that always S~~ks…… you should get one of those collapsible red wagons and put the Losi in it and tow it with your X-Max…… so if this happens again…. You have your own AAA tow truck with you….. just a thought…..🙂👍🏻😎
I have a traxxas 4x4 ultimate I basically got for free.. and I've spent more time fixing it than running it.. its called the free thousand dollar car.. hahahha.. I feel your pain earl..
I have an all original LST and LST 2. They still look and run great. I don’t buy Losi anymore because they discontinue all their vehicles. I mean it’s their right to do so, but I don’t want to deal with it anymore. I stick to Arrma and Traxxas because in general they don’t.
Finally did it, ordered mine and it came Yesterday. It looks like it left the factory without anyone even testing it. Steering is out of wack, front wheels the top is leaning in and the back wheels one is leaning inward at the top and the other is leaning inward at the top...other than that its all good. Going to watch all good DBXLE videos. I just ordered the DX5c controller and the extra servo and links for the dual servo setup. Any tips? Im all ears....Thanx in Advance, Stay Safe.
Unless you landed on a big rock which it didn’t look like you did there’s no way this should of happened. I think anything manufactured from early 2019 until now has a high probability of quality control issues. And probably even some shotty engineering.
Hope all is well Earl. That landing needed to be leveled out my man. 30lb RC needs to land on all fours and you will see this buggy is just as durable as any 5B or 5T. Curious as to why you are driving with a 100$ controller? You have such wonderful builds !!!!!!! - U are selling yourself short my friend.... I hate those heavy and very hard proline badlands 4.3. I tried them on my X-Maxx and it would break more often. Even with small jumps. I much prefer the duratrax lockups x 24mm belted tires. Softer, smaller and lighter. They do become unglued once in a while though. Great bash as usual bud.

@earlmoorhead5555 yea those tires were $100 a pair. $200 total. Believe me I tried other brands but they just didn't hold up at all.
