It looked like every time u got to 45 u came off the trigger to soon. I think if u could stay in it for a little longer it could possibly break 45. Idk I could be wrong. But cool video and plus that new setup with the app. Is pretty accurate. But keep the videos coming
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Great info Tony. I'm starting to lean towards the DBXLE 2 over the new Kraton... I would have to add $200 in parts to get the Kraton set up the way I would like. It's a tough decision.
Is that gear limited? Seems like it gets up to 45 pretty quick and then kinda stops pulling - like it's hitting some kind of rev limiter, rather than power limited.
Can confirm that it’s under geared out of the box. Got one used and the previous owner put a 19 tooth pinion which give 65-70mph speed. The best part is that the motor stayed at 160f and esc 135f for the whole run. I will definitely gear it lower because I feel like I might be stressing component and any way it’s way to fast for bashing 😂
Crazy how hot the led lights get on this beast jus got mine last nite turned it on seen some smoke got me little worried was jus shit burnin off the lights
Nice to see the telemetry working which it doesn't on the Super Rock Rey. Does it come with the optional pinion or do you have to buy that on top of the $1k tag? Never sure why companies don't inc the optional pinion on high end cars. Also how do you get the speed to show on the gopro onboard?
No optional pinion. I never switch because I bash it and don’t want high temps. But it is odd. Arrma gave with infraction but not the K8S. You have to turn on gps in GoPro regional settings. Then you can add overlays in their Quik editing app.
Telemetry was setup by selecting the car from a list with this one and the K8s. Unfortunately it can only save one model in the app at a time. I mentioned this to Spektrum as I have 3 cars I want to use it on.
I'm casually looking for a new 5th scale. Take away the price tag, which one is better, Arrma Kraton 8s or this Losi DBXLE 2.0? The chassis issues on the Kraton kinda kills that one for me but it looks like it has so much potential, so which one would you choose to keep between these two?
I don't plan to get rid of the DBXLE. I made that mistake once already and missed it way too much. :) Both are awesome. But if the Kraton isn't for stunts, but for handling....I like the DBXLE for those things.
CCxRC we will soon have some 5th scale racing locally so I want something that can hang with the Xmaxx and so far the Kraton just doesn’t do that. Thank you for responding and I understand your choice.
In the owners manual of a traxxas slash brushless it gives you different suspension settings for the type of terrain and driving you are doing including top speed run. So maybe this car has that too! If not you can still do something similar and give it a rip and see.
Hey I know this is an old video, but I just got one of these from and I can't figure out what battery I'm supposed to use for the servos. Would you mind sending me a link?
Mine is electric. Not sure what battery the gas ones take for the servo. If you go to the Horizon Hobby page for the DBXL, they might have a link for batteries needed for it.
I don't know if that has been added to the electronics for the gas or not. If so, I'm not sure if it would work for the engine control or not. It seems it would just be throttle curves to help maintain driving control, but I'm not sure.
Im confused you clearly have a offroad buggy doing speed runs on pavement. You had a huge stretch of dirt and offroad conditions right their at this location. Really would liked to watch this rip on dirt!! It just looks natural. Maybe next time🙏🙏👍🤨
@@stikupartist3698 I already own this, and I have an Arrma on order. I suppose that if I wanted to get only one, it would be this. It's a great jack-of-all-trades, and it can be made to run in most conditions. With a quick tyre change, you pretty much have a more truggy style thing going that will do most of what the Arrma will do. But they do drive quite differently, but they are both great machines. As a pure basher, the Kraton probably has the edge, and as a racer, this is probably the better deal. This will handle a MUCH bigger motor with you feel like going that route. If it's your first large scale, you can't go wrong with either.
4 to 5 does not really make a big change on this one. 4 is already pretty aggressive, and 5 only serves to wear your drive line a bit faster. If you put it at 3, it starts to feel soft. Still waiting on my ZTW 300 and TP 5870. That will be the real test of drive line longevity.
True. But the Arrma is more aggressively geared. Throw a 19 tooth pinion in the Arrma and they will run the same speed. For what they are intended to do, it's not really a big difference. I have a Kraton 8S coming and I already have this, I suspect they will feel similar in many ways - especially since I run Louise X Uphill on my DBXL-E 2.0.
Raptor306090 I’m not trying to break speed records. Just giving an idea of what people can expect. Packaging gives speeds, but I just try to shop if it’s actually close or not. Within a few MpH, I’m happy.
Great comparison. Nice to see the different equipment to validate the numbers 👌🏼 I just bought mine and gotta say its worth every penny!

I like that the app was in line with the gps and the GoPro. 45 is definitely moving for something that big.

My favorite rc of all time
I'm with you..for electric RCs. The Kraton 8S will have to work hard to dethrone it
CCxRC yeah i agree
That paint job is so sick. Probably the best looking stock losi ive ever seen. Love it!!
That is a sweet rig. Thumbs up bro
Just installed Louise X Uphill's on mine - or Duratrax Six Pack X. You should give them a try. What an awesome wheel with ZERO ballooning.

Just going to say that the DBXLE platform is one my favorite for a large scale electric RC. The Kraton will have to work hard to dethrone it
Tracy, same here. And my local shop is getting more of these Wednesday and I think I'm pulling the trigger. 👍
I have the DBXL E and 2 smaller Kratons. They are all great. I just plain love the looks of the DBXL though.
I am trying to decide between the two. The losi looks like its built a little better but I haven't seen either in person
Awesome electronics gadget Should be doing at least 50pmh..But your dbxl looking goodA+🏁🚦🛣

I Love my DBXL-E, the thing is such a beast. It can even handle a bit of sending it!! Bash On! 🤘🏻👊🏻
They can definitely take a send! We launched my old on off some big jumps at Digger's Dungeon 2 years ago
CCxRC I’m fairly new to making video’s but I have a couple uploaded of mine flying through the air. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Really cool video Tony. Love all the telemetry 👍👍
Saw you liked one of my trucks on Instagram thanks Brother 🤙
you can adjust the braking amount threw the ESC
Yeah man. THAT was pretty awesome

Very cool got mine working great now love this rc 💪💪🔥🔥👍👍
were you having issues with it?
CCxRC yes steering issues turned great right not so great left
@@earlmoorhead5555 Got it. Did you just set the endpoints?
CCxRC I tried that first but ended up moving the toe link adjustments to move it over so I got less right and more left now it’s good 👍👍
i like your cp holder for your remote can you tell us more about it?
what is your setup for the phone holder on your transmitter, the pole and clamp mount part to the transmitter specifically ? THX
I change it up all the time. This is the part for the transmitter. amzn.to/3KlUMuh

Is the stock transmitter with this buggy a 'smart' one? So can you see things like LiPo battery info on the app etc
great video 👍🏻

yes, where doi buy that phone mount for the controller?
Tony I'm surprised you didn't get the fox body as black and white are your colors. The red one looks good too.
that Fox body didn’t really appeal to me. I dig the Tenacity DB Pro fox body.
So liking the dbxl more and more I need that set up to record crawlers what are you using - does the GoPro show the speed meter or is that separate
The newer GoPros do have a speedometer you can overlay if you record with the GPS turned on. It uses that to monitor movement and speed.
I need to look up the part number for that clamp. It's awesome.
CCxRC thanks appreciate it
It is the Haoge Clip-50 Pipe Clamp amzn.to/2XDABzy
Then you need a selfie stick for your phone that has a tripod mount input on the bottom.

Righteous!!!
Podrías poner donde poder comprar el aparato para ver la Velocidad a la que va el coche?
Hola! Donde se puede comprar el aparato para medir la velocidad?
You couldn't have made one fast pass in the empty field for us? 45mph is pretty solid I think.
Seems really squirly, is it diffing out on you?
The title says "Losi DBXL 2 speed test" I thought you installed a 2 speed trans. Damn.
Take off running with the gopro on your hat so we can see your top speed Tony!!
😂 not sure it would register
That’s not bad considering the size of it
The go pro has telemetry?
do they make the driving modes for the DBXL gas?
I don't know if that has been added to the electronics for the gas or not. If so, I'm not sure if it would work for the engine control or not. It seems it would just be throttle curves to help maintain driving control, but I'm not sure.

Nice speed looks like the gopro and the speed gps meter are the same so that's good.
and so is the telemetry. The GoPro did clip 46mph for a brief moment on one pass.
Have a link or name of that phone holder on transmitter?
It’s this with a selfie stick attached to to it. amzn.to/45xBBIa
Or like this amzn.to/3IK1MBr
@@CCxRC thank you
Hey Tony you should switch motor with the kraton 8s there both smart systems same esc
I plan to see if it will fit ;)
How long will it run on fully charged batteries?
That's going to be depend on the size of the batteries and how hard you are on the throttle.
I can’t make my mind up with which body to go for 🤔🙈😂
I thought I preferred the fox until I saw the Losi flame one in person.
CCxRC nice one thanks, decision time is almost there 👍🏼🙈😂
Que aplicación es?
Ohh man can you show us how you get your phone to your remote
Nice bro
Put a degree or two of toe out on the front wheels. That’ll help it track straighter. You might lose a tiny bit of mph but possibly not.
I've heard about that. I am sure that works, but the odd thing is, that 'toe in' helped in my case for the Talion V3.
Really loving this car. But for $1100? Not sure. Rather get the 1.0
If you can get a killer deal on the 1...I'd go for it.

Going for the least drag for speed testing. All my speed tests are done on pavement/roads. Also, I don't want to tear up that private property.

10-12 minutes depending on how hard your run it.

No. It’s 8s because everything about it is bigger and heavier. Needs more power to go the same speed. Same with 3s cars going nearly as fast as 6s
I heard somewhere this thing levels itself out in the air ?
Nothing does. It really depends on how you break or throttle up.
!!!!
I think you would’ve gotten a better result running it in the grass
Why does Losi advertise 50+ out the box with 8s but it’s only doing 45 😒
It says with optional pinion.
Just got one of these. Put the mamba monster x 8s in it right away. Stock motor 45 mph lol. Waiting on a castle 2028
