My experience with the spektrum esc,servo and receiver is they are junk. 2nd run of my dbxl-e 2.0 the servo broke. Motor and batteries ran hot from day 1. Puffed 4 batteries because the esc was bad from the factory. Then about 1.5 mos later the receiver failed, replaced with a spektrum receiver my brother had. Will be replacing the spektrum radio and receiver with another brand here shortly. So no more spektrum anything for me. I even took off all the spektrum stickers and horizon stickers ( my experience with horizon customer service also sucked). I now run a max 5 esc and a leopard 58113 1050kv motor and for the moment, I couldn't be happier. The tires were replaced (blowout) with pro-line badlands mx43's. All connectors were replaced with 8mm qs8 anti-spark connectors, all 8 ga wire. You should have seen a fairly big difference between the power of the spektrum (160A) esc and max 5 (200A) and that spektrum motor is a 200A motor.
Just ordered this. How the tires holdn up to the pavement. I been lookn at some proline beadlocks for it. Have a spare castle mamba monster x 8s esc I might throw in it.
@@jaymitchrc yeah i went xlx and sensored 2028 motor just for castle to release the XLX2 months later so now i have to replace it along with the xlx in my limitless with the upgrade xlx2. The xlx is a beast though regardless

Hello Jay you definitely just earned your self a new subscriber the video was not that long especially with all the information you included I do very much appreciate you taking time to make a video like this I just picked up one of these units yesterday and there’s not much information on the Internet about doing any of this you covered everything so well the adjustments are definitely needed soon as I get home today I’m going to apply that with that remote are you able to utilize the smart system battery monitoring as well as all the other features ? I’m just not sure which controller to buy to utilize all that technology any and all help would be appreciated
Thank you for subscribing. I actually removed the system as I have a futaba 7px and wanted to keep 1 radio. I did use the spektrum telemetry for a cpl weeks before switching though. Everything worked nice with the exception of the avc control. There was no simple way to disable it. The Avc is linked to the steering trim on the dx2e, so if you turn avc all the way down you get less throw from servo. There was no way to disable avc in the app. So the decision was made to get rid of it. Does have great potential with a higher level remote like the dx5 where you have more settings to tweak it the way youd like.
Crazy I know this video is 4 years old but I just got a dbxle 2.0 and my settings come with level 4 punch, 6 volt bec and 22.5 degrees of timing out the box. Not even sure what to do with my setting now. lol
Every car I ever had was a girl realtor rc, lol. Stock servo was fine agree. Stock default Punch and motor timing make car feel slow. Changing the settings as I did in this video really woke the car up and might just be enough performance for some folk to avoid buying an upgraded motor and esc for the rig. Thanks for watching.

All the info is in the manual. There is a RUclips vid as well. Worse come to worse you can buy a hw programming card they run around 10 bucks and they make programming simple.

My brothers kraton 6s vlx v5, the spektrum esc,servo and receiver also failed and neither of us do anything crazy with our rc's.
Degrees affects your motor timing by adjusting these you can get better performance if you do it wrong you will get the opposite. Also timing can affect your runtime. It is reccomened you do this incrementally as you don't wanna blow up your esc.
I have them both. Kraton is the xmaxx basher competitor and arrmas first 5th scale. DBXLE is the rtr version of losi 5th scale and it's a beast in it's own right. These are 2 different animals. With that said get both, lol
@@jaymitchrc I wish... I'm gonna have to scheme and sneak this in past the wife. :-) So I have a Lost 5T2.0 w/ an RCMax 65cc engine. Do you think the fun-factor on this DBXL-E 2.0 is a good? My only qualms about that gasser is starting it can be difficult if you haven't run it in a while. Spark plugs are almost always the culprit.
@@gaffle-411 yes I think the fun factor is great once you turn up the esc on stock gearing. Also it is very durable. There was no bend in the chasis unlike the kraton 8s vids floating around.

i just got one and drove it for the first time minutes ago. I was quite underwhelmed and only made a few passes. My xrt and super baja rey are alot faster. Im bummed.
12s is way to much for that car. The tires won't hold past 50mph. You will need solid foam tires if you attempt to push it past 60mph. I'm speaking from experience I had a Losi 5T that did 75mph and the tires ballooned.
Thanks for your comment. 12s isn't necessary for the car, but could be done. Tires would def need to be addressed if going faster than 50mph for sure. I am also very experienced in large scale losi builds as I have a 12s 5ive b and a 12s 5ive t I have many vids of them on my channel. Altho dbxle isn't the same i would consider the downstream affects of going 12s for sure. Thanks for watching.
@@dsv_83 mgm makes the best set up but its alot of money, lol. I use ztw 12 beastpro esc, there are mixed reviews on it tho. I've seen them blow. Next time I do a 12s setup I'll consider mgm for sure. I stick to the castle 2028 motor too

Tires hpld up fine. Lots of ppl upgrade to proline or duratraxx. Also would skip mmx8s....go for xlx2 or max5

The 5ive B is waaaaay better it's a purpose built true kit. DBXLE 2.0 is like the rtr 1/5 scale. Still really dope.

No pc is needed. Instruction for programming the settings on esc are in the manual.

i noticed the esc has 3 capacitors, but the kraton 8s has 7 capacitors and it’s the same esc.
I beleive they are both running the firma 160a esc. Basically a max 6 with telemetry capabilities which is pretty cool.
yeah they have the same esc, but iam surprised that arrma added 4 extra capacitors to it.

you can get more speed by changing to 16t pinion. Anymore then that invest in a max5 esc.
