Gens Ace batteries are kinda crap with fake C ratings. Get an SMC. Once you buy your first SMC battery, you wonder why you ever bought anything else. They last much much longer than regular batteries because they're made with (instead of graphene) lithium cobalt oxide, which degrades much less over time. Plus, you get real 150C punch, where 75% of the runtime is above 3.8 volts. They're the best damn batteries, and barely more expensive than GensAceAreSpammers 👈🏼 which is what we call them on the Arrma forums, because they feel the need to do more marketing than R&D I get a 2 milli-ohm internal resistance from my SMC, compared to 4-5 on a Gens Ace. It's well worth the small extra price just because they last way longer. My Gens Ace does get used heavily but it's puffing in only a year with 10 milli-ohm IR, yuck.

Maybe a stupid question but as a bigscale driver who drives fg models with mixed fuel engines, what is the main reason why to choose for an electric powered rc model? Are electric powered models more dirt resistant? As for speed I know that electric powered models can be as fast or even faster as fuel powered models. The main reason I choose fuel powered is because I like the sound, and the smell of those models
Nitro R/C vehicles require a lot of maintenance to keep the clutch fresh, exhaust gaskets, air filters etc. Most small nitro engines are very tunable on the low, mid and high end, and idle, so it can be difficult to tune for beginners. Beginners also tend to be less patient with engine break-in, leading to even more tuning difficulty and overall poor engine performance. With an electric vehicle, just turn it on and it runs battery after battery, being much easier and more convenient. We always recommend people start with electric, learn the fundamentals and then upgrade to nitro down the road if that's what they want. -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies ah that's why, thank you for the answer. I never had an nitro car, because my dad told me that nitro is difficult to get running and the maintenance. That's why I started with an fg marder. In my opinion the mixed fuel is easy to run and in maintenance. My girlfriend bought an electric 1/10 Traxxas and it's easy but I miss the gasoline smell and sound with that model ;) but still fun to run
It looks like a great car but we haven't used it. We've used the electric version plenty with success but haven't had the chance to play with the K&N. -Brett

I bought a xmaxx and batteries. 1500 bucks. That was 3 years ago. Gave away all my other smaller cars to friends. Haven’t touched them since. Point is, these are worth every penny. 1/4 scale electric on 8s is sick. Forget little hills, now you can climb mountains.
Yo thats crazy i didnt know yall were from Chico i am too ive always watched the channel and thought to myself what if i saw you in public and now i have a higher chance now that i knkw your in chico
Yea, for the most part it's been positive and I believe he still has the car. I know he upgraded the servo, motor and esc at one point for more power. One issue was the pinion gear coming loose and disengaging from the motor shaft, which removes the ability to accelerate and brake. I believe he started using heavier duty loctite on the pinion gear set screw. It's a great car though and demands a healthy amount of space to roam free. -Brett

Awesome review, thank you!

What do you think about the K&N gas/2stroke version?
It looks like a great car but we haven't used it. We've used the electric version plenty with success but haven't had the chance to play with the K&N.

Cmon horizon. Stop including that garbage tx with premium vehicles. I get it in a $199 cheapo but you can spend an extra $20 for a car that costs over a grand.....
Beast 🔥🔥🔥
I use my makita 1/4 impact driver to get those kinds of nuts out. Hehe. I also use it for my hex drivers carefully 👍
Great tip!

Stuck here at home due to the Coronavirus closures, watching your videos dreaming of what I want to buy from Amain.
But having to make do with the vehicles I already have because who knows when I'll be allowed to go back to work or if there will be a job to go back too? 😪😥
Awh man, sorry to hear you can't work. We hope you are safe and healthy though, and enjoy the videos!

@@AMain_Hobbies Yeah thanks, I still have a list of parts I need/want to order. So the minute a few sheckles come thru I will be back. Thanks for the videos.
Jesus the buggy looks insane! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Video is well done and that buggy sure does look nice but I can't think of spending $1100 on one rc. Next time, you guys should talk about how much replacement parts cost.
Yea that is expensive!! Gotta pay to play lol
So why does it oversteer so much? Is the front suspension adjustable for camber and toe?
Yes to both. The car has a fully adjustable independent suspension.

@@AMain_Hobbies yeah for sure man keep grinding
How's the buggy holding up so far?
Everything all right in the long-term?
Yea, for the most part it's been positive and I believe he still has the car. I know he upgraded the servo, motor and esc at one point for more power. One issue was the pinion gear coming loose and disengaging from the motor shaft, which removes the ability to accelerate and brake. I believe he started using heavier duty loctite on the pinion gear set screw. It's a great car though and demands a healthy amount of space to roam free.

@Vape N Clash Replacing the electronics is by choice, not necessity.
