Real talk. I have a widebody scat and I drive normal but dude at work with the v6 drive like he got a hellcat past me. I'm like bro relax with that slow ass car
One thing you can do is also go forged internals after the forced induction & e85 ... some good tune sauce i can def see a v6 gettin at least some time at 600rwhp before exploding
The forged kit for jeeps prolly would work for our motors in the cars. Just would have to change the tune in the computer in my assumption to get everything running smooth.
I think 500 solid power too much it’s asking for trouble the engine it’s weak in the cylinder walls would not hold too much pressure even with forged internals just anything under 20 psi would be safe like 14-16 would be enough then with that power you have to upgrade your transmission the 2012 to 2014 has the nag1 solid transmission an hold up to 500 whp the new ones for 2015 and up a bit weakers
If you can do it and your car is in good condition it seems like a good deal. The reviews I’ve seen so far are all good ,even with little hiccups for one person they are simple and they love the kit. Just be sure to plan your build for what you want and go from there. 👍🏾 keep me posted.
Also I see u said something about headers, from my research I thought it wasn't possible to get new headers on the 3.6 ....id love to add them to get that choppy sound and some gains but i was told the manifold is not made to do it? Idk...hope that info is wrong
Yes you can get 450 with supercharger, injector kit, smaller pulley and good tune . You can go further with headers, porting and little more. On pump gas, believe me, been there, doing that !
QUICK UPDATE : I forgot to mention the 3.09 lsd and differential brace if you are going to do a build like this. Overall if your goal is to have better acceleration the go to upgrade is the 3.09 diff if you do not already have it.
@@nathongisme5688 The kit is low boost around 8 psi, which a healthy stock block should be able to handle. I would get an oil catch can as well, and if you wanted to improve the durability of this set up either a water methanol kit or flex fuel would do. And of course tuning may have to be done to accommodate either. The good thing is the supercharger includes tuning, but if you’re going to run flex fuel or a water methanol injection then additional tuning might be required.
From my understanding these kits are low boost (no more than 8psi) if they are more than that then perhaps one would have to upgrade internals or run a water methanol injection. Flex Fuel may be another option as it is alcohol and can be used as a cooling agent among other things. From a convenience stand point one could do that. However, there are quite a few individuals running this kit on daily drivers. I do not know of many who have upgraded to the extent of the video I have made but the few that have are running stock internals as well. Depends on goals, budget, and how you drive and take care of what you have. If you have not seen the video I linked in the description on the sprintex challenger running 11s in the 1/4 mile let me know what you think after. That one is on stock internals as well. You do make an important point on what most people do not do which is build the block of any thing now of days.
Would you be able to help with getting 500hp to the wheels on a sprintex supercharger kit? I have a ripp 180 degree thermostat, ripp coil packs, bigger injectors and a sprintex supercharger with a professional tune
What are your goals besides 500hp? How much Hp and torque are you at currently? Does your fuel system support flex fuel if you want to go that route? And do you have a stock motor?
@@ModstarzOfficial I want it to hook as well, I know a rear gear at some point will need to be done, I haven’t had it on the dyno, so I can’t give exact numbers but it will keep up with a scar pack, but my engine light has been on since the supercharger install with a p0420 code
@@jfate5977 Awesome. First things first take care of the p0420 make sure the catalytic converter(s) aren’t clogged or bad and the o2 sensors are good. If you are keeping up with 392s than you potentially have a car that can 12s in a 1/4 mile. For your car to hook better will come down to suspension set up and gearing like you mentioned, at which point 500hp may not be necessary especially when it hooks and shifts quicker with transmission upgrades. As far as tires go especially if this is your daily, my preference is an all season performance tire like Firestone fire hawk or Michelin pilot 4s for example .With that being said you will definitely have to upgrade the brakes as well. If you wanted to add more power after that there are a few ways to do it. 1 is a larger pulley for more boost . If I’m not mistaken Sprintex is working on a pulley larger than the 68mm pulley but that size pulley is good as well someone ran 11.8 on a v6 challenger on 93 Octane. In addition to that the blower was ported and had a larger throttle body from BBK. 2 ) you could do if you are on a stock block is a water methanol injection kit and depending on you current setup I do not know the size injectors or fuel pump your car has but if you want to run more boost that is something you might have to upgrade as well. And 3) have the cylinder heads ported tune the car ( if necessary) and you are on your way to more power and with that you may or may not have to improve your set up to accommodate for the extra power but this is a method and order or operations you can try. Definitely chat with your tuner and others who have helped you with your build. Feel free to keep me posted on this. I am really excited for you and how things go. 1) clear the code 2) brakes and suspension set up 3) transmission and rear end 4) test drive and practice with the new set up 5) optional: add more power with options mentioned above . If desired.
@@ModstarzOfficial I definitely will, I have upgraded the brakes with ceramic pads and drilled and slotted rotors, the supercharger kit did come with bigger injectors that I installed as well, so what kind of throttle body do you recommend

The Hurricane engine looks good on paper, but then again everything does. You can find comments here saying the pentastar is not worth modifying but I and many others have shown otherwise. Can you supercharge and turbocharge the V6 ? I am new to the MOPAR community and I have a 22’ SXT and so far I have put in a Borla ATAK cat back exhaust with black tips, an MMX 80 MM hand ported Throttle Body with a V6 to HEMI V8 wiring harness and a K&N cold air intake that cost me and arm and leg….i didn’t know there was so much vitriol towards the V6 lol….my last upgrade was going to be to get a forged header and some tuning here and there until I can afford the crate engine I want….was wondering if I should wide body my blacked out charger now that the sound has improved and the engine intake and throttle systems are upgraded ? Or is this just stupid as shit idk 🤷♂️ I’m lost
Welcome! and to answer your first question technically yes but it would be expensive and custom as it has not been done before. The turbo kit in and of itself would be custom but there is also the sprintex supercharger kit which uses a style supercharger like that of a hellcat (root style/twin screw). As far as headers go, the earlier models like 09 have them where as the newer ones like yours are casted on to the block so there is no way to remove it. The good news is you have plenty of options in the MOPAR world. I have also made a video about the 5.7 hemi and the earlier chargers for example can still be found for about $8k. So would you like to keep the v6 and save the money you wanted to put towards the wide body and other parts towards something like a 2010 charger/challenger (or other running hemi powered vehicles) ? Or Sell the v6 after you have the cash for the other car and build that? Again there is no wrong answer even if it is something no one else agree with. But you must start with one goal and a budget for that goal. Please feel free to ask any questions you would like.
@@ModstarzOfficial Thanks for your prompt response. I wanted to amend a prior statement I made concerning the headers/manifold. I intend to get the ported manifold from MMX as opposed to “forged” as I previously/mistakenly wrote. My question is as follows: would I be able to obtain equitable power in comparison to a Hellcat if I obtained the Sprintex Supercharger, upgraded to Ripp supercoils, forged my rods and pistons and possibly upgraded my cooling system, and purchased a TorqueFlite 8HP90 or perhaps a TR-6060? This question is brought forth in good faith and with the limited knowledge I have concerning mechanics. However, I understand if the question(s) itself/themselves are moot considering the technical challenges posed to say the least. I would also like to add that if I secure the Sprintex I would still want to turbocharge the V6 as having a unique vehicle such as this intrigues the hell out of me to say the least. With me having verbalized that diatribe, I have effectively decided to keep my V6 should I be able to achieve the above conditions and have also decided to withhold the wide body kit purchase from Vicrez unless I can achieve the exhaust noise/grumble quality level of at least a 392 scat or Daytona. Is this even possible with the modifications I’ve done ? Does more oxygen to the engine equate to better noise production or is this also a likely fruitless venture ? I was also wondering what kind of turbocharger should I look to pair with the Sprintex ?
@@AlmostanSRT Short answer to the hellcat power question yes. And you may even be just as quick with less power. Here is a link I put in the description of this video. ruclips.net/video/tS9d3nsh5X0/видео.htmlsi=4IHxq2wEFBvEPElf
@@AlmostanSRT Also running a 3.90 diff which I did not include in the video will wake the car up more and you may not need to swap transmissions. I don’t remember if it was a cts v or ATS V but it doesn’t matter it says a lot. There is also a twin turbo kit for the v6 and some have debated that it makes the same power as the ripp kit. However no one talks about the torque differences or the fact that it’s on low boost on a stock motor. I’m sure higher boost and a built motor this would not be up for discussion. Stall choice varies on many build applications and engines but for street driven set ups from what I have seen not only in the pentastar v6 but the gm 3800 v6 (Chevy , Pontiac, etc) stall for street cars are around 2800 and on more aggressive setups 3000 stall. With that being said, the additional psi to accommodate the elevation makes since and may be equivalent to the 8psi at lower elevation so your jeep should be fine with that power and elevation. Some have suggested the 300M Chrysler final driver is taller and the Plymouth prowler is 4.3 I believe but I’m not sure how a rwd differential works on a fwd car unless they were speaking on the actual gear set of the transmission. Tuning would have to be a universal one like Ecumaster Det3 of AEM FI C 6 (piggy back computers) or mega squirt (stand alone) if possible. The displacement of the motor is that of modern day v6 engines and the weigh less than a Nissan 350z to put it in perspective. Simple bolt ons or a way to make the transmission shift quicker like a custom stall torque converter would wake the car up and surprise a lot of things you run against. The Pentistar is a great engine. But it is not made to handle any amount of boost. It has no forged internals and the block is an open deck design, so there is no strength at the top of the cylinders. Any boosted 3.6 is living on borrowed time. My advise, go light on the boost (6psi) and tune for e85. Then swap driveshaft and rear diff with an R/T
Great minds think alike. I’d not ethanol than water methanol injection as mentioned in the video. I do believe there will be a point where forged internals are available even if it is a (made on demand) scenario. Then again, one could always have them custom made but that may come at some cost. I believe the supercharger is at 8 psi and there are a good amount of people running these for about a year or two from what I saw last.
Just heads up , for all those zfhp transmissions on v6's doesn't last long YOU WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION in less than 1 year special if you going to push at max daily. Trust me I had a 2015, now a 2023 v6 durango
Mods for the transmission are included in this video. The questions I have below are asked so I can gain depth and context to your experience. Did you run a stock transmission or any engine modifications? Was there any maintenance procedures or schedules followed? And when you say “push at max”, are you driving at wide open throttle most of the time ? Based on the premature transmission failure, was their any diagnosis on what specifically failed in the transmission?
Hey Boss, do you still reply on this account? I got a Challenger 2023 GT AWD Plus challenger, and I don’t know if you can just mod it the same way as a regular RWD
Yes I still reply. I do not think there are any drastic changes on the 2023 model to the previous AWD models. With that said, If you were to get a supercharger kit it would have to be the AWD kit from Ripp superchargers. Bolt ons should be straight forwards but exhaust is simple seeing how the headers are casted to the block and cannot be removed. If you are going the supercharger route than you will have just about everything in the kit including HP tune flash. If you are going all motor (bolt ons and tune) than you have a few more options for tuning like Diablosport and Livernoise performance flash tuning which (If I am not mistaken) also have the ability to adjust shift points of the transmission as well. Lastly the differentials cannot be swapped as simply as the RWD variants because of just that. However, I am curious if differentials from an AWD jeep srt for example will fit along side other necessary hardware if needed. I hope this helps. What is your goal? And what is your budget?
@@ModstarzOfficial I wanna keep the feature of going AWD just to start, I daily the car and need it for colder states! You're beating the breaks off 5.0's, Snack Packs, and vr30's with jb4's, but for the money you're putting into that v6, you'll be disappointed lining up to a vr30 that's on E-30 or higher. The AWD RT Police cruiser seems like the best bang for your buck to build.
@@ModstarzOfficial Oh, I don't doubt it can run 11's, I was just stating that the vr30 platform does this with just CAI's, lower downpipes and a tune and that's mid 11's not high 11's. E-30 mix they are doing mid to low 11's (depending on DA) which is substantially quicker. Forced induction platforms naturally have the edge, which is why its cheaper to mod them. You don't have to pay for another component. I was only saying, if you get the Sprintex Supercharger, you might be disappointed in the results if you go in thinking you're a big fish and a lightly modded Kia Stinger or Model 3 performance pulls up at the light.
@@AddictusSaevire I get what you are saying as far as ETs and platforms go and there’s no argument against that. But to keep myself on topic, this is to share the current potential of the pentastar v6 and what it could be. On a side note, I have a philosophy on consistency especially when it comes to performance but perhaps that is a conversation for another time. I don’t want to get to carried away with anything.
Can't get the 8 speed though and its heavier, I like my AWD V6, But I live in Montana and can drive it all year long. Planning to get a Ripp super charger this summer, Was going to get on last summer but was a 5 month wait.
Building a v6 charger/challenger is impractical because you'll spend money on replacement parts far more than the car is worth. lets say you do add all that HP where is the torque to back it up??? There is a video of a decked out v6 with a stock motor (second motor at that because the v6 motor is prone to cracking because they are aluminum cast and cannot handle the stress of a supercharger even if you give it forged internals they aren't built for it) getting gapped by a 392 scat pack just because it doesn't have the torque to keep up. Yes this will beat a stock hemi or R/T but nothing crazier than that because those cars have the torque and proper build/upgrades pushing the vehicle where is.
I've posted a link of one running 11s in 1/4 mile on a Sprintex supercharger, and upgrading cars seems impractical to just as many people who beleive buying expensive cars (cars over $30k-$40k) are impracticle but thats besides the point. As Jay Leno once said "Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races." You and I however both know there are other factors that effect results and application of power. And that is why we have the aftermarket, to make what was once impossible possible. I guess we will have to wait and see. Here is the video of the challenger as well if you have not seen it: ruclips.net/video/tS9d3nsh5X0/видео.htmlsi=l3Y-n8VcjCfLhl5v
After you spend all that money on mods, install, dyno, wheels, not to mention with that kind of power you have to do more than just slap things on the engine....you're better off just saving all the pain and buying a scat or a 5.7. I wouldnt even bother trying to buy all that crap for a V6... considering all the other things you need to do to it.
I understand where you are coming from. I have a 5.7 hemi video where I talk about used chargers and Chrysler 300 and such going for $8k. As far as this v6, there are plenty of supercharged v6 beating scat packs in the 1/4 mile on RUclips and the only thing they have done is the Ripp Supercharger kit. Depending on how much the car is when one buys it plus the kit it could come out to be cheaper than getting a a 392. Or perhaps its just a matter of preference and convenience. People like what they like and appreciate what they have to the point where upgrades can be done. One could make the same point about building a 5.7 vs getting a hellcat but that's what makes the automotive aftermarket exciting. With ones own preference they can build which as may have expressed no one really does anymore. But as I stated earlier it comes down to preference.
Its not false the early models have headers. I pinned a comment explaining this in greater detail. I do apologize for any confusion or misunderstandings.
@@ModstarzOfficial Yep. Supercharged V6 makes very little tq. It was 505whp/380wtq. RIPP doesn't even state the tq their supercharger makes, because it's embarrassing. And 505/380 is NO comparison to a Hellcat. The quickest 1/4 I ever did in my Charger was 11.5. Hellcats were hi 10s that day.
@@CallaFab 11.5 sounds about right but even stock and on tire, hellcats don’t immediately 10s and to do so consistently takes some more time so that car seems to be dialed in. The stock 1/4 mike records for hellcats have been corrected over the years and without a radial or slick they run 11s.
Those engines are really bad. Anyone trying to modify them is just asking for trouble. Inferior materials used cause premature crank bearing failures. Words to live by. Don't buy a Dodge! It's never led me astray.

@@ModstarzOfficial if the magnets on end of cams don't fail the lifters and rockers break. Ebay has several knock off lifter and cam kits that are way worse than the stock ones. The phasers on cams on pentastar will also break at 500hp, they break or wear out becoming sloppy even on stock engines.
@@BlueBaby-m6t Ah that makes sense. I remember when Ford was having issues with cam phasers a few years ago. Believe it or not there are some exotics that have this issue as well that people are getting a fix on but we will see if that goes down the latter on more affordable cars. Do you have any ideas on how to make the magnets more secure? Perhaps a a JB weld type composite?
@@ModstarzOfficial problem isn't the magnets being secure it is the design. The magnets are little magnetic lines on a wheel. Those cams on end can't be near any metals like steel. Even a screw driver or socket will make the magnetic lines distort and not read anymore. The stock cam magnets are far better than cheap ebay cam magnets but are still junk. The rockers are tiny also and known for roller wheel collapse or deformation. Also I have bought penstar lifters that didn't pump up and I had to remove top of everything to replace again which drives me nuts.
That is true to a point, Hes mostly talking about the awd v6's, Easy to win a race with a much more powerful car like a Hellcat on a dirty road or wet out, Even just a better driver is the point. Not talking about on a prepared track. if comes to already moving likely no chance.

@@ModstarzOfficial Thanks for your prompt response. I wanted to amend a prior statement I made concerning the headers/manifold. I intend to get the ported manifold from MMX as opposed to “forged” as I previously/mistakenly wrote. It would have to be a custom set up and you would need space for any supercharger to fit somewhere under the hood. I’m not sure if this unit or a different style supercharger would fit. Perhaps a rotrex style or a turbo, but either route you go would require custom work.

@@N0-0D Congrats on getting the car! I could not find much of anything in the aftermarket which means you would be the pioneer for your car and many things would be custom. If this is a route you’d like to take vs Swapping a motor I say go for it. Even bolt ons and machining the cylinder heads with a custom exhaust & headers if you can do so. Let me know what you think and I can do some more research for you.

So is thue suoer charger sage alone for the v6
I am not sure what you are asking based on the typos. Do you want to know if the supercharger alone is safe for the v6? If so, there are a good amount of individuals who run the Ripp Supercharger kit on their Mopar/Jeep/ Chrysler. Daily driven as well. Maintenance is the priority on every vehicle (At least it should be) and do not abuse your car.
You forgot about supporting mods like the tranny , brakes and suspension
I mentioned transmission upgrades at the 2:40 mark. They are the same transmission upgrades that I have mentioned in previous episodes. In the 5.7 video I made along with episode 1 of this series and previous charger hemi videos I have mentioned brake and suspension upgrades as well. And they are the same chassis so charger/ challenge depending on the generations so parts will fit on either. I can include more links to those videos if you’d like?
Based on that info. Why wouldn't you just buy a r/t or scat ? That's what I would do

The lack of torque will get you in the end
It could, but that depends on the set up and whatever you are running. If we are just talking about this charger or challenger that’s where gearing and transmission upgrades come into play. Another thing a lack of torque can help with is traction but the torque numbers on these aren’t too bad. But I do appreciate you bringing this up as I look at torque numbers on a lot of cars and see that they are lower than I expected. As Jay Leno says “ Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races.”
@@ModstarzOfficial What if you add a small turbo for low rpms, would that help with torque?
@@16ltb That depends on the turbo and gearing of the car. Would added some form of force induction increase power and torque over factory specs? But how well can those components be utilized? That in itself depends on your goals and budget.
I always told people to enjoy their builds. I don’t have to like them and most of the time I don’t. There’s always someone faster then you, no matter what you got. 3.6L is a start you know, can’t knock one down that has actual performance mods. 5.7 is the slowest v8 out there right now. If it has actual mods to it then, it has potential. 6.4L are decent and don’t really like boost too much. Actual mods make this thing even better. 6.2L already is in a different league then the other engines. Even tho it gets beat by cars with 500whp, still gotta respect what it’s got. Nah, this ain't it my man. Like its cool and all for what it is, but 450 to the wheels with that weight, doesn't make you a big fish, even in the smallest of ponds. Hellcats run mid 11's in good DA. Redeyes run mid 10's. I run low 11's on pump gas and mid 10's on E-85 with stock turbo in my AWD Q60RS. GTR's running very low 11's stock.
I guess time will tell. The aftermarket is a cool thing.
Also , if you haven’t looked at it yet. I have a link in the description of a sprintex supercharged v6 running 11s
