For what its worth, I'm a Ford guy but Ford had nothing comparable to this car so I got this AWD 2022 Challenger GT-PLUS and Love it. My other options for a V6 AWD car was a Lexus IS350 F Sport or the Acura Type S but those were 10 to 12 grand more. My main focus was a good reliable AWD daily driver with a V6 that I could mod up if I want to. It definitely doesn't need it. It does everything I want it to do
I’ve got a 200 sedan with the 3.6l & 6 speed auto that is also flex fuel from the factory, I also have a few mods to go on it ( bigger front brakes with new rear pads and rotors, MSD Coils, RPM motorsports intake tube from stock air box, and PUG lower intake manifold) and have been running V and Z rated 235/50R18 all season tires (stock was 225/50TR18) since 2015. Just running E85 on the factory tune and good brake pads tires wakes it up. I have had people was why I got that vs a Challenger or Charger and it was a few reasons, cost was good, performance out of the box wasn’t far off a R/T car, plus, despite having 18’s from the factory, it still looks like a rental car and sounds like a minivan or Wrangler, which means it’s not going to attract unwanted attention from people who drive black and white vehicles for a living.
I love the 3.6L I got in mine. I’ve got a decent 2019 SXT Charger. 85k km on it and it rips as is. It spins both, can drift on dry pave. It’s an overall awesome car that has a lot of potential.
Really love this! I have a Dodge Charger R/T with 550 RWHP, and I don't get all the hate the V6 gets. Especially for guys like you and I who live in snow states, or maybe you want the sporty feel without all the power. I think a V6 with a few mods is the PERFECT daily. If everyone wants to roll their eyes at V6's and Modded RT's, how about we start rolling our eyes at scat packs and hellcats since they have redeye's and demon's now. We can Start calling Hellcats wanna-be redeyes *eyeroll* I might even consider getting me a V6. With a proper tune (at the bare minimum) those things push enough happy power with the fuel efficiency (24-27MPG) alongside the added benefit of racking up all the miles you want to, to make this car worth purchasing! Final Note** As a fellow builder in the MOPAR community, I respect all builds. Nobody is upbadging, so who cares what you have? Personalize it, and make it your own!
Great video I think the engine shouldn't matter if you love your car v6 or v8 that's all that matters. I'm always happy to see the v6 community supported. I had v6s before v8s and loved them.
Trading my hemi Ram for a pentastar grand Cherokee and I needed this video. I already know I’ll miss my hemi, but I’m driving more and have no need for a truck anymore. I already know I’ll be modding the Jeep as soon as I get it. Thank you for these man! Keep it up.
The V6 is not slow, especially with the 8 speed. But I would go a little different. Wider rims and tires....just so you don't kill yourself. Lower suspension...unless you live in a snowy climate, dropping the cg helps. Stall convertor and tune.....tiny engine needs all the leverage it can get and a silly convertor will wake it up. 4000 rpm or more. Exhaust of your choice. Then tune it NA while you save for...... Twin turbo kit The car will be fun before the forced air and run quicker than a stock 5.7.
@@RTLife my Drew, the tech and tuning capability with convertors is insane now. The V6 is a revver and an aggressive stator will make it come alive. Tuning the the lockup points gets rid of the slippy feeling. Shoot, Id go 5000 rpm as a flash stall point and tune around it.
V6 crew!! 🤟🏽 I own a 2013 charger V6, i got it on my own and with my hard earned money and honestly I just won’t trade it, it’s my boy! But this video give me a tons of good ideas. Thanks for that 😁

@@DavidVlogz that one is .20 or .30 over. Instead of say 212ci, it's probably closer to 240ci ish if he did a little stroke. That and the cam is getting the sound deeper. Note, if you're going to do this, LOWER your compression when you put new pistons in bored or not. You always benefit more from boost than compression. Take it down to a 7:1 compression ratio, THEN jack up the boost. You should be able to hit 500hp at the wheels pretty easy.

I'm glad you touched on the constant: "with that money you could've gotten ___" For myself when I got my R/T, I wasn't in the financial position to get a Scat or Hellcat. Really the same case for me. I didn’t want to stretch my budget at the point of purchase. I began modifying & the rest is history. I’m enjoying it & that’s all that matters to me.

Once listened to a radio station that asked a different question every day for folks to call in and answer. The question one day was whats the definition for high performance , heard lots of answers but in the end it means good or better than average for what it is. Not the fastest or most powerful of all. Know matter what you got something else is out there or will be. Work with what you got or like and if it performs better than average then be happy. Never knock the little guy because some day he could kick your ass.
Tune, forced air, new tire and rim set up , full exhaust set up to possible beat a v8 😂 as a v6 owner and a v8 owner ain’t nothing like having them extra 2 cylinders
From a financial stand point, is it worth modding a V6? Most of the time it isn't. There is only one scenario where it could be. If the car comes from the factory turbo charged, then modding it won't cost much. Two examples that come to mind are the Ford Fusion Sport and the Ford Taurus SHO. The only Mopar worthy of consideration for performance mods is the Jeep Wrangler. The last car I would pick is the Challenger GT. If the car already has turbos from the factory, all that are required are a tune and an intercooler upgrade. The cost of the tune and intercooler is about $1400 if you're willing to datalog and install the intercooler yourself. Those 2 mods would convert a Taurus SHO Fusion Sports into a mid 12 second cars. You can increase boost with those cars because they come from the factory with forged internals I would choose the Wrangler over the Challenger because the Wrangler has a higher resale value. As mentioned on the video, there are 2 methods to add power. The first is turbocharging and the 2nd is supercharging. I wouldn't go with the turbo kit. It isn't an established product. You go to their website and it says they are accepting preorders. That's what their website said in July. If this turbo kit were an established product, you would see testimonials from customers and a lead time from when you place the order to when you can expect delivery of the product. The established products are the superchargers. One is a positive displacement kit from Sprintex and a centrifugal supercharger kit through Ripp. The Pentastar is a good, reliable engine. However, it lacks low end torque and the Challenger is heavy. It would seem like the positive displacement kit would seem to be the better alternative. However, it has several flaws. The first is that you need to have fabrication done to the hood to get this kit to fit. Although it provides good throttle response, it produces only 338 RWHP. If the car is a 2019 or later, you can only get a tuner kit and you have to purchase a PCM through Diablo Sport. That leaves the Ripp kit. The centrifugal supercharger is good at producing power at high RPM. However, the boost doesn't start to come on until RPM starts to build. The V6 Challenger isn't a good platform to build. The first was mentioned previously. Although the Pentastar is a good, reliable engine, a heavy car with with an engine that produces little torque at low RPM are less than ideal. Mopar is cheap when it comes to lower trim levels. If you buy an AWD car having open diffs isn't much of an issue. You can't install headers on the Pentastar because the exhaust manifold is part of the head. Unless you want to pay for custom grind cams, you can't buy cams for the Pentastar and it has 4 cams. Options for gearing are nonexistent for AWD cars. If it's RWD you can buy shorter gears. However, what's the point of buying a V6 if you're only getting V8 gas mileage with by replacing gears. The 8HP45 transmission is only rated at about 335 foot pounds of torque so you can only go so far when modding it. Aftermarket support is limited at best. 86face heavily modded his V6 Challenger. His mods included a Ripp supercharger, 3.90 gears, a stronger transmission, suspension work, weight reduction, and other mods I can't think of at this time. He had a mid 12 second car. I spent less than half what he spent upgrading my Procharged V6 Mustang and my car currently runs in the low 12s. If I added long tubes my car would run 11s. 86face researched forged internals and other mods after getting his butt kicked by a basically stock Scat Pack. He decided to buy a 1320 Scat Pack. It was a better way to spend his money. Do I regret modding my V6 Mustang? That answer varies depending on when you ask. However, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a Scat Pack or Mustang GT. If I went the V6 route, I would have gone with the Taurus SHO or added turbos to my Mustang. My wife has a SHO one and she likes it. All I did was add a tune and it runs very low 13s. To make it run mid 12s, all I need is an intercooler upgrade. For about 10K, you can upgrade turbos, replace the intercooler, tune it and add supporting mods. It would run deep into the 11s.
Great video RT Life! Thanks for showing love. I love your set up as well and the fact that you don’t listen to the haters either. I saw the video of Knockout 360 hating on RTs and V6s about widebody kits and modding. I had a word or two for that. Keep up the good work my man, awesome RT you got.

For the time being, I got myself a '21 Charger SXT, I would've loved to get a V8 but funds right now only allowed for this, but at the same time I've seen the colour of this charger and I love it, paint is called "smoke show" and I feel it's so unique compared to most who get black or white, or traditional silver
It's always cooler seeing someone who mods a V6 get the most out of it, rather than pulling up on a bonestock R/T or SRT. If I had the money right now I'd mod my 16 Mustang until I'm pushing 500hp and rocking a minimalist Darth Vader aesthetic.
You hit the nail on the head, you are right people become attached to there cars. As for me that is the case, I also am afraid of getting a lemon car. My pentastar charger has 112k and is not lagging in any way, no leaks, no issues whatsoever. So I plan to keep it add a Ripp supercharger, and maybe later get that ghost cam mod.

I think that if the chargers/challengers name plates did not carry as much value in the car community that they do, people really wouldn't care what engine powered them. It's just the fact that when you think about those chargers and challengers of old you never associate v6's with them, and that's what throws some people off. . .
yah I understand that. The thing people need to remember though is even back then they offered a 6 cylinder option. No one thinks about it because we all like the 440 & 426's. The V6 helps the v8's stay alive.
IM A V6 GUY because of the quicker nature of the them. the valve lift technology is impressive i get real good gas milage these V6's are the new V8's when your car isn't heavy a v6 is plenty powerful enough
Help I have a big question? I have a 2015 charger stock v6 but when I read the manual it says it comes with a super charger already. Do all stock v6 chargers or challengers come with that?

Unless you're going to add a supercharger to the Pentastar V/6 you're wasting your money. Adding a cold air intake will get you maybe 2 to three horsepower. An aftermarket cat back exhaust will get you 10 to twelve hp such as adding a Borla Atak setup. Spending close to $1500 gets you 15hp max. A Ripp supercharger gets you 150hp but costs close to ten grand. Best just buy a Challenget R/T or the ScatPack.
you missed the ghost cam part and ripp super chargers are 6,000 and you can make close to or more than 500 hp with the ripp kit faster than any stock scat pack

I love how you touch bases on all models. And this a great idea for those that want to build up
I love the 3.6L I got in mine.
We can Start calling Hellcats wanna-be redeyes *eyeroll*
I might even consider getting me a V6.

I had v6s before v8s and loved them.
same - I had a v6 for 3 years before getting into my V8. Enjoyed both - I'm no hater
@dodge_chargar_partz
Twin turbo kit
The car will be fun before the forced air and run quicker than a stock 5.7.
If I was setting it up to be a drag racer yours would def be a better upgrade list. I would even throw in some higher gears
Where can you get a twin turbo kit for a 3.6??? That I would pay big money for!!
V6 crew!! 🤟🏽 I own a 2013 charger V6, i got it on my own and with my hard earned money and honestly I just won’t trade it, it’s my boy! But this video give me a tons of good ideas. Thanks for that 😁
Love the 3.6 content! There are alot of these V6 Mopars out there, and as they filter down to younger buyers due to cost, there is and will be a strong aftermarket for V6 parts. Too bad this is being ignored by producers.
Literally me lmao

Great list. Forced air is a must lol. Btw that v6 Charger sounded really good.
Yah it did. That’s the ghost cam tune - combine that with forced air & you have something nice
@@RTLife I am going to record mine and compare it to this but I think this one sounds deeper
@@sonsofliberty3081 I’ve been waiting to do this I have the list of the things I need to buy it would be cool to get a different exhaust note out of a bigger cam. Thanks
I'm glad you touched on the constant: "with that money you could've gotten ___" For myself when I got my R/T, I wasn't in the financial position to get a Scat or Hellcat. As I've modded it, you get in a position where u love your car and even if you didn't you'd lose all the money on the upgrades you've already put in by trading it in.
Really the same case for me. I didn’t want to stretch my budget at the point of purchase. I began modifying & the rest is history. I’m enjoying it & that’s all that matters to me.
Said the same thing for my ford fiesta sedan, but I got wheels for and I’ve grown to appreciate the car and love it
I love me some v6 power. There’s so much modifications for the v6 Mustang, chargers, challengers, and camaros. Such underrated cars that you could mod to the moon
so many overlook these rides. They're a lot of fun & some of the upgrades available really add a healthy amount of HP
I bought a charger for the color Destroyer gray I didn’t care what engine it had I liked the color and now I will mod it the F out. Thank you bro. New fan here !
Thanks for showing some love for the 6! If I had to do it over definitely would’ve started with an 8, but Cleo has been part of my journey evolving as a car lady. 🙃
Been looking at different mods for my Ram 1500 that has this engine. When I first started looking, it seemed like there was nothing or everyone said to get a hemi. The hemi wasn’t an option price wise as well as I went used. The 3.6 is plenty for me but some more oomph would be great, this vid as well as some others I have found are very helpful!
I’ve been trying to get a dodge mainly for the look and everyday use and it’s so hard to find videos that focus on a v6 !! Can’t wait to start all my mods
Props on keeping us V6’ers apart of your channel. I hate when so many people hate but at the end of the day we all have a mopar. Also at the end of the day people don’t make your car note payment lol I know for me living in upstate NY where we get 24 inches of snow...lol I don’t hear any hate because I can drive mine all year round. All I know when I pull up people stop and stare again Mopars turn heads 👌
Exactly. I'm in NY so an AWD Challenger would make for a nice all season ride. Some people in the car community are banana heads with small wangs.
i just got my AWD GT challenger when i started my job as an engineer. i love it i thought about getting the wide body or the red eye but ultimately i needed a car that i could use everyday and isnt to bad on gas. one thing i noticed was that with the differnet makes of the challenger is the gas tank stays the same but the engine takes more gas. aside from that i live in canada so winter with a RWD would suck. i love this car man absolutely in love with it. im already looking at all the parts and bits and bobs to put in it. but i'm gunna wait until the warranty is up beforehand just in case so i dont void it. love the vid much love
Yeah I believe Mr Pentastar ( now known as Mr 300 ) did alot of this minus the forced air and shown us in an video that his V6 hit 330 hp on the Dyno. I think it's great that Mopar community can express themselves with mods. I'm actually going to start doing small mods on my car

@@RTLife im getting my list together now
From a financial stand point, is it worth modding a V6?
Thanks man - def need to make sure people know us guys in the "lower" trims are having fun & making some power. Some of these people are on another planet with their mindset.
I have a 2013 Charger SE she runs like a beast, I love it! I have a ported manifold, ported throttle body, deleted mid muffs, and replaced the rear muffs with Dynomax Racing Bullets. Working on getting a CAI next.

Love my V6 Challenger. Added a K&N CAI, and that's it. Fast enough, sounds great, and 27mpg all day. As much fun as my old "68" Coronet RT and my "69" Charger 440 6 pack. Mopar to ya!
Wow super nice very intelligent informative person sounds like you know what you are talking about an doing best video of GT V6. Keep up the good news, MrMike
For the time being, I got myself a '21 Charger SXT, I would've loved to get a V8 but funds right now only allowed for this, but at the same time I've seen the colour of this charger and I love it, paint is called "smoke show" and I feel it's so unique compared to most who get black or white, or traditional silver
A balanced vehicle is a happy vehicle, best of both worlds.
It's always cooler seeing someone who mods a V6 get the most out of it, rather than pulling up on a bonestock R/T or SRT. If I had the money right now I'd mod my 16 Mustang until I'm pushing 500hp and rocking a minimalist Darth Vader aesthetic.
I hear you man. Building up a car is fun & makes you enjoy it that much more
Great video man. I think those were some solid mod suggestions for the Pintastar V6. The chop of that cam was pretty sick!

My 2014 Chrysler S 200 3.6 needs some of these mods. Mopar 4 life this thing pushes close to 300 HP stock

Again great diverse content on this channel. Love all of the Mopar models and engines available out there . The V6 is a very good choice over many cars on the market and very customizable not mentioning it's aggressive looks!
Good job on keeping the Mopar community informed and united as a family. 💯🏁

@@RTLife We are 1 community! Mopar should be a family and a way of life, never about who's better or diminishing others.

Don't go with a ghost tune. They are terrible for the motor.
Best just buy a Challenget R/T or the ScatPack.
you missed the ghost cam part and ripp super chargers are 6,000 and you can make close to or more than 500 hp with the ripp kit
faster than any stock scat pack
