Shelby is the true legendary period not the Viper. Newer Gt500 would beat this Viper. Not downing the Viper just speaking facts. Viper was born by Shelby. All and every Shelby vehicles are legendary. That is the 1 that is legendary the Shelby Viper not the regular Viper. All I am saying.
I’m 100% sure the Viper isn’t as easy to handle as Adam makes it look. So big props to him. And it has the only real color combination that should be allowed in this car, blue and white stripes.

The second gen viper in blue with thw white stripes has been my dream car since the first time I saw it. I had a poster of it on my wall and i had built 3 different model kits of it. A push fit one , the normal glue together one , and a huge one with working doors and wheels that turned qhen you moved the steering wheel. Building those was a big part of the quality time i spent with my dad. He got to share his love of classic cars with building those models with me. I miss you dad qnd there isnt a day that i dont think about you.
I totally agree. This video makes me like the Viper a lot more than I've done before. Also, it's easier for me to see how people can pay a lot of money for the Viper compared to how people are paying a lot for some brand new cars that seems a lot more boring and stupid.

Well, we can confirm that the Gran Turismo video game wasn't exaggerating the Viper's actual power. It dominated in-game, and can still, and impressively at that, dominate in real life. What a legendarily gorgeous car.
Loved it in NFS Hot Pursuit. Low top speed, but made it up by having the highest drifting speed (you can drift at top speed😅). It was a try hard car, but very fun nonetheless.

We used to use those Viper GTS’s in the Skip Barber racing school. Fantastic speed in a car that wasn’t at all forgiving. The viper is one of those cars you just knew would swap ends, at least once, before the end of your lapping session.
I own a 6-spd manual version of that Challenger and I'm happy to see that it did as well as it did. The Challenger is a big heavy beast (but it's the only sports/muscle car I fit in comfortably...I'm 6' 5").
That Viper... that design never gets old. It's beautiful. I was obsessed with this car as a kid because of Gran Turismo. Had two Bburago models. 1:18, red with white stripes and gold wheels and a 1:24 like Adams.
Honestly, I didn't expect the Viper to do that well with the launches. Adam's driving was definitely on point! That Challenger Widebody is such a good looking car... both cars are good looking.
I'll definitely take a wide-bodied Challenger over a regular Challenger. The wide-bodied Challenger looks so much more aggressive and has more stance. Also a shaker hood makes it look badass.

well lamborghini (if i’m not mistaken) was a help in reworking the block to be suited for the viper but the entire engine was based off an old Chrysler LA V8.
All I kept seeing/hearing is: THIS IS SPARTAAA. That Viper is a movie star. I remember in 96, the GTS hit 191mph flat out against a 993 Turbo S that hit 187mph in a Motortrend shootout. That Challenger had no chance on a roll to any speed.
@@m.m14433but the challenger weighs as much as a small house and has the aero of one too, plus these v10s do a very good job at making their power, and generally dyno close to 500 hp. It wouldn’t beat a cat but it would be quite close if the viper driver is good.

Ehhh the Viper might hold its ground the first 500ft., but after that the huge hp advantage the hellcat would have would beat the Viper over the quarter... and definitely the 1/2 mile.
I miss my 99 GTS. Mine was red with silver stripe and it was beautiful. Handled like a dream. You have to know how to manage them because no granny assists in Vipers. They weren't made for straight track drag racing but held their own in the quarter too. Their real strength shows in auto-cross or round track racing. They can be dangerous. The man I sold both my Vipers to killed himself and his friend one night, and he was a racecar driver..

The Viper has proven it self as a supercar and race car. Lots of success in GT. The Challenger has proven it self as a drag master and good law enforcement persuit car. Matt Watson new is batter PheVs and EVs.

@SH57578 A turbo gives more torque and Modern cars also have a dual clutch which shifts precisely at the right time and super fast. That combined with 4 wheel drive and launch control There are not many cars that can leave me behind at a set of traffic lights 😁 I only lost from a modern bmw M3 with over 600hp it also had 4 wheel drive

Viper's are pretty easy to launch. That GTS came with 335 rear tires from factory lol. The newer ACR's came with 355's!

@@m.m14433but the challenger weighs as much as a small house and has the aero of one too, plus these v10s do a very good job at making their power, and generally dyno close to 500 hp. It wouldn’t beat a cat but it would be quite close if the viper driver is good.
@@defyyourlogic487definitely. Although this viper and the scatpack are close in power numbers. The hellcat having an extra 200-300 hp would make up for the lack of aero and the weight. Unlike the 392 hemi.
Ehhh the Viper might hold its ground the first 500ft., but after that the huge hp advantage the hellcat would have would beat the Viper over the quarter... and definitely the 1/2 mile.

I miss my 99 GTS. Mine was red with silver stripe and it was beautiful. Handled like a dream. You have to know how to manage them because no granny assists in Vipers. They weren't made for straight track drag racing but held their own in the quarter too. Their real strength shows in auto-cross or round track racing. They can be dangerous. The man I sold both my Vipers to killed himself and his friend one night, and he was a racecar driver..

The Viper has proven it self as a supercar and race car. Lots of success in GT. The Challenger has proven it self as a drag master and good law enforcement persuit car. Matt Watson new is batter PheVs and EVs.

A turbo gives more torque and Modern cars also have a dual clutch which shifts precisely at the right time and super fast. That combined with 4 wheel drive and launch control There are not many cars that can leave me behind at a set of traffic lights 😁
I only lost from a modern bmw M3 with over 600hp it also had 4 wheel drive
