I think the "wedge...the simplest of tools" line is my favorite of the season. Great work Mr. Colbert. Keep 'em coming. Gives me a moment of hope and joy. Ah, joy. Such a fleeting memory. I sincerely hope that one day, the US achieves its potential and becomes a full democracy, as defined by the EIU.
To do this, it must overcome the latest cutting edge thinking of the 18th century (the constitution) and employ the latest thinking of now.
Also, US voters must overcome their misplaced phobia of socialism, where some actually believe universal healthcare erodes human rights. The last time I looked , any structure of length made of vertical steel slats was called a "FENCE" not a wall. It must be weird for Stephen and the writers to watch this show - which they film on Thursday - in the context of how much had changed in that 24 hours.
