But do keep in mind that most of these people donate a ton of money to national disasters across the country, most recently to disaster relief for North Carolina and Tennessee. Also important to remember that there are many many people living in these areas that are not affluent at all. I have no home to go back to and only had about 10 minutes to pack yesterday when the Eaton Fire started close by. There wasn't even time for us to receive any warning before it was nearly on top of us. Half of Altadena is already gone, much is still burning, very few resources are in the area, and it looks like a warzone. People of all political and religious beliefs have lost their homes in the last 24 hours and it hurts so deeply to see crass comments online about what Californians "deserve." "Love thy neighbor" is literally the only way many of us have anywhere to go right now and it will be how we pull through whatever the next few days, weeks, and months have in store.

Concerning Greenland The heraldic was already changed/updated. So no story here, just a funny coincident. Greenland was discovered, named and settled first by vikings. Since then, Greenland has been part of Denmark. This first population died out in the 1500s and Inuit moved in. Denmark resettled in the 1700s, and did what it could to develop Greenland (without slavery and ethnic cleansing). Today Greenland has had self government for years (and is a part of the Kingdom), and Denmark performs all major tasks Greenland is unable to do, including military ones. The US has its bases on Greenland, and has always been allowed to guard that flank against Russia with their presence. No issue here. We are allies. The Greenlandic people are most anxious about mining and exploiting natural resources, as they are very concerned about the impact on nature. They want prosperity and self government; not a new master. I am an economist and surveyor, and have worked with Greenlandic issues, both in Denmark and in Greenland.

My house has been leveled by this fire. I have no home to go back to and only had about 10 minutes to pack yesterday when the Eaton Fire started close by. There wasn't even time for us to receive any warning before it was nearly on top of us.
Half of Altadena is already gone, much is still burning, very few resources are in the area, and it looks like a warzone. People of all political and religious beliefs have lost their homes in the last 24 hours and it hurts so deeply to see crass comments online about what Californians "deserve."
"Love thy neighbor" is literally the only way many of us have anywhere to go right now and it will be how we pull through whatever the next few days, weeks, and months have in store.
I am thankful for the fire fighters and paramedics battling these devastating fires. 🙏

Concerning Greenland
The heraldic was already changed/updated. So no story here, just a funny coincident.
Greenland was discovered, named and settled first by vikings. Since then, Greenland has been part of Denmark. This first population died out in the 1500s and Inuit moved in. Denmark resettled in the 1700s, and did what it could to develop Greenland (without slavery and ethnic cleansing).
Today Greenland has had self government for years (and is a part of the Kingdom), and Denmark performs all major tasks Greenland is unable to do, including military ones. The US has its bases on Greenland, and has always been allowed to guard that flank against Russia with their presence. No issue here. We are allies.
The Greenlandic people are most anxious about mining and exploiting natural resources, as they are very concerned about the impact on nature. They want prosperity and self government; not a new master.
I am an economist and surveyor, and have worked with Greenlandic issues, both in Denmark and in Greenland.

Appreciate the well wishes, Stephen. It's scary as hell right now. My mother's house is in danger right now. it was built in the 40s by her father and grandfather. She was gonna pass it down to my sister and me once she passes. She's staying with a friend right now since her area has a mandatory evacuation order. The place my fiance and I work is also in danger. With 0% containment, hope is dwindling. I'm anxious as hell.

@M_SC indeed. My mother and sister are safe, which is all I care about. But my mother is panicking about her house. She hasn't slept much. She stayed up all night last night watching her ring camera footage until it went offline at 4:30AM. I'm hoping she's getting much needed rest right now.

@Happy-uy5wc I hope so. My fiance and I live on the other side of the freeway, which is massive. The chances of the fire jumping over it are slim, thankfully. My mother and sister don't need assistance yet. If we end up in a bad way, I'll be sure to reach out to a shelter, though I'm sure they're overcrowded at this point.
