    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
    I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
    At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
    My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
    I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
    I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
    I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

    I'm sorry, but while you were talking in your video (on my phone) I kept looking away and staring out of the window. Is this the opposite of phubbing ? I'm not sure what to call it :-)

    What do I do with an astigmatism only correction? I read some articles on endmyopia and apparently I can't reverse an astigmatism only correction?

    Hey gemily 😀
    I'm here to ask you that I have myopia of RE: -3.75 and LE:-5 and I am not wearing glasses when I'm reading and when I'm working with my computer.... Does this effect my eyes??

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад +1

      It could cause you some strain, especially since you would need to be quite close to the computer or book to see. That would also affect how turned in you need your eyes to be to focus. The Endamyopia method recommends differential glasses for close up work, which means you don't have to be so close to things to see them.

      Can you suggest the differentials that I have to wear for my close up work.. please

    Hi, I have a question, should i do AF with normalized or not, I am 1.5 and 1.75 diopter on each eyes. i mean i can do it with or without glasses, but with glasses, my eyes get strain and dry more fast, and it was difficult to find focus challenge, I need to see so far for challenge my eyes.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      More blur does not equal more improvement, but if you are finding do AF with your glasses uncomfortable... If it were me, I would probably do a bit of both.

    Ma'am I m having a problem. Last year I started endmyopia wearing a lower prescription glasses with different numbers and different glasses thinking it will be helpful but after wearing for a year my myopia increased.Then I started wearing my newly prescribed glasses for almost 5 months still i am unable to adjust to those new glasses what is the reason and what should I do??. Please help me

    • @jamesberg2226
      @jamesberg2226 2 года назад

      What do you mean by unable to adjust to those glasses? You are getting headache? Wearing lower prescription glasses isn't enough, you should do active focus while wearing them and remove them while doing close activities like reading, phone if you can see them clearly.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      That could be so many things, since I don't know what doing Endamyopia looks like for you. Do you have Differential glasses got close up and Normalised glasses for distance? How much time do you spend on your phone? Have you worked out active focus? How much distance time do you get?

  • @mika-gv4xi

    hey gemily is it true that wearing too much time for differentials can develop presbyopia??

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      No, presbyopia is a different thing. It is the hardening of the lens as you age, which makes it harder for the ciliary muscle to push into shape for close up. If you wear differentials too much, you may get some eye strain (tired eyes, maybe a headache), but not presbyopia. (I should add, I am not a medical professional, and this is not medical advice)

      @@GemilyMez oh i see that means teenagers dont develop it, right?
      also i wanted to know one thing- can hyperopia people also increase their power like people myopians over the year, i am actually asking this for my father as i am also worried about him, he has been wearing glasses for about 10 years and when we last time went for a check up- it was something +1.75, +1.75 in 10 years, so just wanted to ask about it
      also thank you so much for you reply, i really dont have anyone to ask these types of questions to anyone and discuss with them.

    • @kkevinj1
      @kkevinj1 2 года назад

      Last thing you want is weak ciliary muscles behind diffs that do all the work but maybe somehow active focus in closeup for myopia helps prevent it Jake says everyone that has done endmyopia for some time and made improvments have no signs of presbyopia. But it is quite easy for even me, I have presbyopia im 50, to read with 20 25 vison let alone 20 50 in normalized glasses. The true test for presbyopia is read with true distance glasses like an emmetrope not in normalize. Those are mini readers.

    • @kkevinj1
      @kkevinj1 2 года назад

      @@GemilyMez I think you may be looking at it at your age lol Presbyopia = weak ciliary and stiff lens. I could see diffs possibly weakening the ciliary. Once you get 45 readers will take presbyopia to a crazy level. Yet most ppl are not active focusing for myopia either while reading with readers. I had to quite readers and diffs are essentially readers but I battle hyperopia mostly that is why I may be wrong lol
