    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
    I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
    At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
    My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
    I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
    I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
    I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

    Don't underestimate the effect of stress and generally mood. Not just in habits, which you also recognized, but also on generally how it affects your body. I don't have much experience about this Endmyopia related, but in other health-areas I know first-hand the effects of the stress and also saw several examples of how bad it can generally be for your health.
    You cannot combat stress by trying to create a stress-free environment, that's impossible for multiple reasons. But I would highly recommend doing some mindfulness based practice. Sitting meditation is an obvious choice (be that secular or spiritual), but not everyone's cup of tea. Moving meditation (qigong or yoga) is much easier to get into. At least when they are taught correctly, because many times they are just taught and practiced as physical exercises. And generally there are a lot of other form of mindfulness practice if those three alternatives are still not sounds good for you.

      Thanks, David. Your advice is spot on, of course. I have started meditating in the evenings again. And I have taken more time outside without any podcasts in my ears so I can let my mind rest too. I am enjoying it. It's so interesting to me to feel the equilibrium (emotional? mental?) shifting. From being in quite a stressed state with the move, to finding a more neutral place, and now to returning to my happy state, which is how I think of myself, it is nice to find myself back here. And with it comes the desire to do these things that take care of me. So hard to convince myself to do when I am stressed or sad. I was doing badminton as a form of movement - endorphins and health, etc, and, well.... with the torn calf/achillies... that didn't go so well. Yoga sounds good. I have been wanting to reconnect with my body lately. I should do it rather than just think about how nice it would be if I did do it. XD

    Hooray! Glad to hear your cm measurements are back up.
    I don't use my phone much, but I have to be honest and say that I'm a bit addicted to playing Toon Blast in the evenings as a way to unwind.
    As for eye exercises, palming and massaging around the eyes feels relaxing, but I was put off all other eye exercises when I noticed my vision deteriorated after I did some roll the eyes in circles exercises every day for about 1-2 weeks. Maybe I was doing it incorrectly and putting too much strain on my eyes, but I decided not to do them anymore after that. Luckily things returned back to normal after a couple of weeks of stopping.

      Ugh, that evening phone time... Very dangerous, in my experience. That is not only when you have artificial light, but when you are most likely to be fatigued, eyes tired, will power low, have decision fatigue... and just making the worst choices in general. Take care, and if you find you are not progressing, take note of that evening phone time.

    Hi Gem,
    You have great fortitude.
    As you know, I use a Snellen for confirming going from 20/60, to 20/30.
    But I like Jake's CM system also.
    At 50 cm, you are at -2 Diopters.
    Is that approximately correct.

    Non-EM exercise wise, I find Bates-style palming for a few minutes can relax the ciliary spasm after protracted phone use.

    Hey Gem, just wondering, what is a clear indicator that I can drop my normalised correction? I watched a video of yours and I got the vague idea that when I wear my normalised and look at the snellen chart, I should be able to see the 20/30 with no problem and no active focusing?

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад +2

      Jake says you drop your normalised correction when there is nothing left to active focus on. I like to look at what cm to blur measurements are for each diopter e.g if I am consistently measuring between 38cm - 42.5 cms, I would wear -2.5 diopters. Once I start consistently measuring between 42.5 and 47 cms I wear -2 diopter glasses. This is one way I know I am not kidding myself with what I am seeing and jump too far ahead. (I worked out these measurements by inputting cm measurements into this calculator - endmyopia.org/focal-calculator/calc.html - and seeing when the diopter changed. But diopters are just -100/number of cms. So, 50cm is -100/50=-2. So, you could also play with that equation to work it out).

    Any one help me double vision reslove or not any suggestion pls 🙏🙏

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      If you have double vision suddenly for no reason, see a doctor. If you have double vision because you have been following a natural vision improvement method, then it is a pretty normal part of the process. It goes blur --> double vision --> clear. So, to get rid of double vision, just keep going, keep doing active focus, and keep away from your phone screen as much as possible. If it still doesn't resolve after a month or two, then you may have reduced too soon and may want to consider bumping your glasses correction up a little bit. Make sure you are not having too many focual plane changes (make sure you only have 2 pairs of glasses - differentials and normalised, or maximum 3 if you need a full correction for night driving), and make sure you aren't messing about with plus lenses - these things can induce double vision. In the mean time, these articles from Jake may help:
      endmyopia.org/reminder-tip-recognize-double-vision/
      endmyopia.org/the-giant-double-vision-thread/
      Also, some people say trataka candle gazing helps, but it isn't part of the EndMyopia method, and I cannot vouch for it. Just don't do it for too long - take care of your eyes. When we really want better vision, we can think doing something like active focus or candle gazing for hours is better than doing it for 15 minutes, but often it is little things more often that help in the long run (and that are less likely to make other things go wrong).
      Jake does talk about a couple of things for improving night vision which may also be helpful for Double Vision:
      endmyopia.org/how-to-improve-night-vision-advanced-topic/
      endmyopia.org/pro-tip-neon-signs-for-night-time-double-vision-calibration/
      All the best with your journey!

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      @@srisareekuchulu How many months depends on what you are doing. It depends how much you are on your phone; it depends on how much double vision you have; it depends on how much active focus you are getting; it depends on why you got double vision. If it is really bad, then consider stepping your correction up a step again. If it is mentally disturbing you, then maybe you should ask yourself whether it is worth going through in the quest for better vision, or if maybe your mental health is more important. It is up to you. If you want to keep going and get THROUGH the double vision though and out the other side, then the very best thing you can do is not be on screens and to get distance vision. Get off your phone or computer and go for a walk. Stop looking for answers on line, and start doing something good for your eyes instead. The problem isn't complicated to fix, but it does take time and good habits.

    Hi, Gem
    i wish you can make a video talk about more detail about AF.
    i am in the stage that i look something far away(blur), i clear up and then before next blink, i could see everything clear, i mean not just the object that i looked at. it like i got temporarily "contact lenses".
    do you have some same experience?
    also after wear normalized(maybe an hour), i got more small double vison, it is like thing clear but with double image
