Hi Gemily, My solution is to use my own test lenses, that duplicates the Optometrist measurement method. Let us say I read 20/60, both eyes open. Then I hold up a -0 5 Diopter lens. That clears 20/40. Then I use a -1 Diopter. That clears the 20/20 line. The lenses cost me $5 from Zennioptical. This saves me arguments with ODs about my exact Diopters. I like to make my vision recovery as low cost as possible.
I don't have a long enough area to put a 20 foot chart can I stand at the 10 foot mark. And when I test my eyes I do wear my glasses with both eyes right now closing one at a time. Thanks
Such a good vid... packed with that visual representation of how diopters change as you go higher. Thanks for the shoutout, I'll add this vid to the description and it's now a collab 🎩
The, "official requirement", is that you must read, or guess 1/2 the letters correctly on a line. I use a Bright Snellen, and TRUST MYSELF, objectively. Remember, the real requirement, is the DMV. That means, one eye at 20/70, the other eye at 20/40. Obviously, this will not work with the Big "E", or 20/200. This is where you need the Electronic Snellen that I provided to my Relatives. As always, Gemily, I am impressed by your intelligence, and motivation. Jake is truly great in his efforts.
When trying to figure out when I should reduce, a different topic, I think my head exploded. Hopefully, I just get there this summer and it makes sense. I think a good first step is when I no longer use 0.25 stronger glasses later in the day (about 5pm right now). Maybe I can try my first true reduction for both eyes soon after that because of actual improvement.
I know EM isn't big on print pushing but if I usually sit 2m from my screen just inside the edge of blur, I can just about read text at the default resolution but I usually turn it down for comfort. Does the smaller text of the higher resolution setting make that much more difference as to maybe how I stay aware of what is in focus? Or should I just use a lower resolution but stay back from the screen? Or is it all moot because print pushing sucks?
I think print pushing is valued in EM - just that it is not a replacement for distance vision. I think both ways you are suggesting have value - my intuition would suggest to me that sitting further away would be the better choice.
I use contact lenses with plus lens glasses over them as differentials, and sometimes - in the evenings - I use lower prescription glasses as differentials: can I just add the cm measurement diopters in both cases? I wonder, since contact lens diopters and glasses diopters are not the same... What do you think? BTW thank you for your amazing work, helps me a lot!!!
Depends. I think if your contacts are for less than -3.5, t is pretty similar. If your contact lens is stronger than that, then I would suspect it would be worth converting - but this is only a guess. Have a look here: endmyopia.org/convert-contact-lens-prescription-glasses-prescription/
Haha with use diferential on measurement cm, now im afraid with the results. Because it up🙏. But i will continue practise active focus. Its just two weeks. Haha. How long you down 0.50 diopter in first time?
Hi gem, what's your opinion on MIYOSMART myopia control glasses? Research has shown it works and that the theory of myopia progression is similar to endmyopia
How exciting! Here are a few videos that might help: One from me - ruclips.net/video/bqje2hJ7mhs/видео.html And one from Reannon - ruclips.net/video/7HM5oOAexww/видео.html
Try a little patching (not too much - Jake says 15 minutes a day is plenty), try Reanon's tagging in method ( ruclips.net/video/GSLpywu8goI/видео.html ), make sure you get plenty of outdoor time, print pushing helps too, and be really patient. That's the best I have so far ...
It might be a problem with how the lens has been cut - the centre of the lens may have been placed a little too low. OR it could just be that as you get toward the edges of the glasses, the lenses are thicker, so the magnification is stronger. It may be clearer, but it may make it overprescribed. I am not an optometrist and even if I were, I can't check your glasses to find out which it is, so, if it is bothering you, you might want to see an optometrist about new lenses.
CMs and snellen not adding up. Sounds like blur adaption to me. Blur adaption does fill in the gap some and the rest active focus. Too much blur is like trying to lift 500kg. Yes you can active focus the blur well but how are the gains coming?
Hey Gemily! In one of your vids you showed how to test eyesight with a computer. Why on earth you do not have yet iris or f lux on your computer to reduce blue light? :) I assume you are familiar with dr Jack Kruse knowledge about this subject? Great vids. Thanks.
I used to, but it actually gave me headaches. Maybe that would be a good trick for getting me off screens 😆 but I try only to be on screens when I actually need to be, so getting a headache from it wouldn't be all that helpful. I'd love to try yellow glasses, like swanies, and see whether I still got a headache if all my field of vision had the same warm tone.
hi, love your videos. recently started with EM, have a doubt. i read on the internet that if somebody’s 20/40, he needs a prescription of around 0.75 D but in the videos, you say that from our normalised prescription(which is 0.25D less than full correction),we should be able to see around 20/40 or 20/30 according to me it should be 20/25, not 20/40 as for 20/40, it should be 0.75 D less pls clarify:)
Wearing -1.75 on my right and -2 on my left. Got -2 for my right and -2.25 for my left, but that is definitely too strong. Considering trying -1.5 and -1.75 soon.

Took me a while - I think I started in September 2019, and didn't see progress until November 2019.

Hi Gemily after spherical reduction , I noticed a double vision on my close up without glasses It's normal or a astigmatism?
My right -5 to -4.25 but my left eye -5 to -5 . My left eye was not improving. What should i do?

Hey Gemily,
Is it okay to replicate Jake's calculator by printing out text with 12pt font?
Good,
Measure the lines this way;
20/60 line is 1 inch.
20/40 line is 1.8 cm
20/20 line is 0.9 cm
@@otiebrown9999 Thanks!
