ENDMYOPIA MOTIVATIONAL PEP TALK | When EndMyopia Isn't Work For You | How to Get Better Results

  • While I see mainly people either progressing along this method, or learning about this method, I have come across one or two comments (mainly on RUclips videos, not in the forum or facebook group) where someone has said "It didn't work for me".
    On the (rare) occasions I have seen this, I have been disappointed in such an attitude.
    Yes, EndMyopia won't cure you from cataracts or heal a broken leg, so I can't say this will work for everyone - the treatment has to match your ailment.
    But assuming you are trying to fix lens-induced myopia (which is most myopia) with some astigmatism too perhaps, then this is indeed what you are looking for.
    There are plenty of ways to try the EndMyopia method and not gain better eyesight, but those are things that depend on you, the student. Are you willing to change your habits? Are you willing to reduce screen time? Are you willing to commit to this daily? Do you have the patience for this method? Are you willing to read the blog (endmyopia.org) and watch Jake's videos and learn?
    If not, then you may not get results. But that is not EndMyopia not working, my friend; that is you not working.
    **You need to change your habits if you want better results. What you do daily is what matters.**
    The amazing thing about EndMyopia is that it doesn't involve Bates-style eye exercises to maintain for years. It doesn't even have to be hard. It is a reduced lens method. If you adjust your correction, lower you screen time and incorporate more distance vision, you'll get there. Simple! And so doable.
    So here is my response to those occasional (okay, so two) comments saying "it didn't work for me".
    And if you are just starting out: you absolutely can recover from myopia, shortsightedness, nearsightedness, blurry distance vision).
    And remember to like and subscribe if you enjoyed the video. Thanks! 🥰
    Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, and nothing I say in my videos should be taken as medical advice.
    I am not affiliated with EndMyopia. All my videos are based on my own experience using Jake Steiner's EndMyopia method.

    🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
    I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
    At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia and had to wear glasses full-time.
    My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
    I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
    I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.25 in my left eye -2.00 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
    I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

    Thanks for the shoutouts, it will be duly returned at some point 👀👀
    This was a hit IMO! All of the technical info is all out there, the only reason people struggle is perhaps a lack of committment. Nobody needs to give me five million dollars for good vision habits, good eyesight is the result at least in my books. I want this way too badly 🤣
    But yes, it is a growing process that enriches your life in many ways, and it's a load of fun. The podcasts and daily walks (of which I don't think I've missed a day for a month now?) are a really fun escape from whatever I'm doing, and I get to notice the daily gradual shifts in my vision.
    Loved it 🤩

      Look, I'm not going to say no to a return shout out, but also not necessary. You were just genuinely relevant to my content today. 😆
      "This was a hit IMO!" Aww, thanks so much! 😊
      And I'm not surprised to hear that you want it so badly, considering your motivation had a big motivating effect on me.
      Haven't missed one in a month? That is excellent! Look at you being EM Inspo. I'm loving how being outside for 3 hours really is like a tipping point that has me feeling like I am actually living some of my life outside (not just that I took a break for a walk).

      I will have a think about double vision and see if I can find enough to make a video about it.
      In the mean time, double vision is very normal. It means your eyes have adjusted to clear up the blur, so your eyes are each seeing pretty clearly, but your visual cortex in your brain is still sorting it out. Just give it more time at your current correction. It will clear up.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 года назад +2

      @@alexbean5876 Yeah, that's right! Get some differentials for reading and computer use so you aren't using your full correction for close up work. Exactly! Using full correction for close up work is the main thing that makes myopia get worse.

    • @alexbean5876
      @alexbean5876 4 года назад +1

      Gemily Mez should I use full correction for distance work ? Sorry for asking though
      I know i should be reading on the website but Im still lost

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 года назад

      @@alexbean5876 That's okay.
      To begin with yes. You keep using your full correction for distance/normal/around the house stuff for now. Get some differentials for close up (about -1.5 diopters below your full prescription, but you might have to see what feels right for you). Wear them for about 6 weeks while you let your eyes and visual cortex adjust to not being overcorrected for close up.
      And then, after that, you drop down your glasses for distance/normal/around the house vision (how much depends very much on your own vision at the beginning - could be 0.25 diopters, could be as much as 0.75! But you'll be able to work that out when the time comes).
      So, step one - get differentials to wear for close up work. That's all you have to think about to begin with. :)

    But in the end, you must pass the 20/60 line, objectively, under your control, and by your long term measurements. There is no need for medical involvement.

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 года назад

      Hi there. I have two questions for you: 1) do you have any astigmatism ('cyl' in your prescription) and 2) did you get "differentials" - that is glasses to use just for close up work? These are about 1.5 diopters below your full correction, and you use them when on a computer or reading etc. In endmyopia you are meant to use these "differential" glasses for about 6 weeks before lowering the correction in your normal glasses. Doing it this way helps reduce risks of headaches.

    • @afreenunnisa3464

      @@GemilyMez thank you for replying me. No I don't have astigmatism and I didn't use any differentials before reducing my prescription. • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 года назад +2

      Good suggestion, Khalil - especially because in the morning your ciliary muscle is more likely to be relaxed.
      If you don't find it, it may be because your ciliary muscle is locked up. A few weeks with differentials may help with that, as the ciliary won't have to contract too hard to do close up all the time.
      So glad you have found EndMyopia!

  • @ik6882

    Can you improve eyesight without differentials? I have around -4 in both eyes.

    • @khalilcool7507
      @khalilcool7507 4 года назад +1

      Nope...

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  4 года назад +1

      The main thing that causes increasing myopia is wearing full correction (correction that lets you see clearly at a distance) for close up work.
      To not only start fixing you vision, but also simply to stop making it worse, you need lower correction for close up work (like phones, books, computers).
      So I'm afraid Khalil is right - differentials are an important part of the process.
      Are you able to get some differentials (about 1.5 diopters weaker than your normal glasses)?

    • @Kevin.L_
      @Kevin.L_ 4 года назад

      I'm at a similar diopter level as you, currently normalized of -2.25 which gives me 20/40 in good lighting. Differentials of -1.5 is pushing it for me.
      Are you really using 1.5 less than normalized?
