    Hi Gem,
    For me, it is ZERO SCREEN TIME, because I wear a plus lens for all my near work.
    At 20/50, nothing for far.
    A +2 for all my close work.
    Yes, this is a life time commitment.

    I had some rlly good habits last few days but i have into my screen addiction and watched some anime IN A DARK ROOM and my measurements went down again.. honestly you are such a good role model

  •  2 года назад +2

    Could have not said it better :) Especially like the "(what you tell yourself) didn't count adds up" part. I many time see people with office jobs or students self-report only 8-10 hours of close-up... that's practically impossible to be true for the average modern person having smart phone and personal computer.
    This video should be part of the official Endmyopia guides :)

    I've 6 hours of screen work I also don't use screen for entertainment can I improve my vision 6 hours of screen time

  • @Ben-pk4cv
    @Ben-pk4cv 2 года назад +1

    Yup. I started with managing screens better even though I was watching hours at night. I would take breaks and sit further back. I would look off to the side when I was fine just listening. Then I noticed after weeks of this I was sitting closer, not taking breaks, and not looking off to the side. I was doing these until I wasn't doing them at all. It's just easier to watch less or not watch at all at night than to keep up all the habits to get away with more screen time. If it's video that I am fine only listening to then I can actually get away with it. It's shows and other things that keep my gaze on the screens that I can't be doing much of.

    Pretty much the first thing jake says on the Intro emails is less screen time more distance. I think most people find this difficult what with the lockdown restrictions and just winter if you live in the North. It's easy to over complicate things.

    is looking at the phone and doing homework the same? because i guess it has almost the same distance

    • @GemilyMez
      @GemilyMez  2 года назад

      Not exactly no. The difference with the phone is that it is very small, and you get sucked into the stuff on it, so you lose awareness of how close you are holding your phone and it creeps close and closer. As well as this, all the colours, sounds and notifications on phones are designed to be addictive. Homework is not. ;) Having said that, try to keep a good, comfortable distance for homework too. It may not be good for improving your vision, but if it needs doing, it needs doing, and it doesn't have to make eyesight worse if you are using differentials (or no glasses if your vision is good enough).

Clear flashes are sudden and unexplained and effortless and uncontrollable, and it honestly feels like you don't need glasses at all for a moment.
