Flamme really taught Frieren all the warfare techniques she had.
It's funny to realize that while each of the current party members is an analogue to someone in the Hero Party, the one person who was a member of both parties is not an analogue of herself. Sein is the corrupt priest, like Heiter, Stark is the warrior, like Eisen, Fern is the wizard, like Frieren, and Frieren herself is the Himmel analogue, the one driving the journey.

I found it funny in this episode that Fern doesn't view a priest drinking as a bad thing.

The flying kiss scene make me fall to the floor in laugh. Brilliant.
Also, more and more hints of Himmel's love to Frieren. Last week the ring and now this.
Thing is, we knew Himmel had a thing for Frieren. And we're gradually finding out that his feelings were reciprocated, though Frieren herself didn't really realize it at the time, being the aloof, detached elf that she was. The real question is what situation came along that made Frieren want to use the "seduction techniques" Flamme taught her on Himmel?

she used it as a last resort on sein to convince him to join her party. i think a similar scenario occurred in the past too, where frieren really wants to do something that himmel is against. @@quigonkenny
Fun thing i noticed: the order of how the original and current parties formed are the same. Himmel and Heiter knew each other as kids and partied up immediately. Somewhere along the way, they picked up eisen before meeting frieren. Frieren (himmel's "apprentice) knew fern (heiter's daughter) since she was a child and partied up immediately. Somewhere along the way, they meet stark (eisen's apprentice) before meeting sein (a reflection of frieren in the past)
The fact that Frieren took time to think about helping our new priest from sinking.

This was the funniest episode by a long shot. There was still the philosophy and the general melancholy, but this was like... "The Comedy Episode" more than anything. And I'm a sucker for deadpan humour, so give me that right in my veins.
The reason Himmel, Fern, and Stark are vulnerable to Frieren’s air kiss is simple. Himmel was down bad. Completely head over heels, so he didn’t stand a chance. The kids, on the other hand, view her as a mentor/little sister figure, so they’re vulnerable to anything she does that is cute.
This episode was basically why you need a cleric in your party lol. And them trying to get one to join them. As Frierern is basically a wizard so she has no healing spells. I also love at the start how Frieren is like “You hand is dirty so I will not save you” when he is neck deep in some quicksand. So thank god that mom Fern is here to give Frieren a talking on how to behave. Then the priest being pretty corrupt with how he is both gambling, smoking, and drinking was not something that I expected. Fern saying that alcohol is the best medicine is understandable seeing how her father Heiter was basically an alcoholic.
And let not forget that an elf even if she is a lot older then you. Doesn’t count as a older women seeing how they stay young for so very long

I also like that there is depth added to Heiter from, of all things, the gag that he’s an alcoholic. Like, the entire show it’s been used as a gag, but then you learn that Heiter actually gave up drinking so that he can live long enough to see Fern become self sufficient 😭
Glad to hear Nakamura Yuuichi voicing in this and actually being part of the party. Another reason to look forward to this series each week. It's amusing how Fern does not hold back against Sein even though they just met and he's a priest like Heiter. I thought she'd have a bit more respect for him lol. Well at least Stark won't be taking all the hits from Fern, and he'll have an ally to share the pain lol.
well what she can do once see someone like sein who is a priest that like gambling and flirt with older women. it makes hieter still better lol
The party is 2 best boys and 2 best girls. Also Sein has the best introduction nearly dying in quick sand. Also funny how Stark nearly dies. The flashbacks help add to the story. And interesting to see Frieren was at the point Sein was. Also I thought Sein would win against Stark and not the fact they would both lose everything gambling. I kind of hope Sein’s friend is still alive but he will stay in the party. I also see Stark and Fern getting much closer now. Also if Fern was older, she could have won Sein over

Best boy sein is finally here, I'm so excited. Him and Frieren had some of my favorite moments in the manga and I can't wait to see it here.

SEIN the only well written adult I've seen in a long ass time bro always have the right and positive words to say and gives the best advice you'll love him. Seems Goju VA have join the cast and we love to see it
Last episode, I thought we were going to get a cleric, but was surprised how that ended. I'm sure it's not going to be without reason, but It felt right to round out the party! So when this one started with a preist, I was like yup, he's joining! LOL! I like the similarities each has to the original party, while still maintaining their own individuality. She's retracing her steps, but taking more care with this party. I love it! I'm just waiting for them to get to "heaven" only to find another book from her master telling her that the journey is what she needed to face her grief, to learn, and to grow. Not spoilers, unless I'm right, but this is just a total guess, lol! I'm loving this series! I'm so glad there are still more episodes! Yay!
Sein is the kind of light corrupting influence they needed.
He will give Stark that caution to temper his childish naivete by getting him entangled in dicey situation and Fern's scoldings.
He will likely help Fern unwind, especially if "the best of medicines" is involved (Heiter... damn). That's going to be interesting, or moving, or both.
He will get under Frieren's skin because he reminds her of herself before Himmel came around (and will make the memory of Himmel ever stronger for her).
And who knows! Maybe he will succeed in getting both Stark and Frieren caught up in his mischief and Fern will spend the night scolding them, because the type of mischief those three can get into is bound to be wild. And then all three will likely laugh it off as another experience, to Fern's chagrin.
So yes. A welcome addition to the party.
Yet another great episode of Frieren this week imho. I think it's good to have Sein join the party both to give him the chance to use his gift and also to add a healer / priest for the party dynamic. Frieren blowing a heart-shaped kiss to Sein was hilarious--it's clear to me that Sein likes his women a bit more stacked. Anyways, I'm looking forward to the next episode.
I just hope Sein does not corrupt Stark too much >_
The group dynamic is really coming together ! I wonder if there's gonna be more people joining the party besides the spiritual successors of the original group. Sein and Fern might bond over the stories Heiter told to both of them.
Sein is a damn amazing character. In a way he's even more corrupt than Heiter was. Not only does he drink, he smokes tobacco and wants a milf on his adventure.
But leave it to our girl Fern to say alcohol is actually medicine.
Heiter raised her to not judge anyone it seems lol.
But I love how we start this episode with Sein literally sinking and begging her to save her while Frieren was like, "mmm... Let me think about that."
We're lucky Fern is there to keep things grounded because by now this party would've been a comedy show.
Without Sein Stark would've died. And in quite an awful way. His brain would've melted because Frieren and Fern didn't bring him to the priest soon enough.
Luckily Sein is a genius and did it so seamleesly that it was like nothing to him.
But I got to say, it was sad that he never went on this grand adventure with his friend when they were dreaming on going. His friend promised to come back but he never did and the logical outcome of that is that he is dead.
I am curious if he is gonna run into him on the journey or meet him in heaven but either way, I'm happy with him coming along with the party.
And now it's like the past. The only thing that is missing is a Himmel type character. A strong swordsman but it ain't easy finding someone like that.
All of the episodes are nonstop quality and I'm so happy we got another 15 episodes to go... Which is insane that next episode we'll be officially half way through it's run.

Sein is unnecessarily hilarious, this whole episode was hella funny but that overlayed „I’m talking about the present“ with Himmel and Frieren at the same time and the brother’s connection still managed to be one of the most hard hitting things in this

I personally feel like he's too close to the original priest. I felt like this was the weakest episode so far.
