I've experienced love bombing firsthand from a person with "Narcissistic" BEHAVIOR...so I know what it looks and feels like. As a young woman getting to know a wonderful "Nice guy" what Mr. Gaskins said 100% true. My unhealed teenage version would've been turned off by such a man because my father was toxic. But now that I've healed (To lord be the glory) I regonize REAL men from a mile away. Yes, sometimes I get that old trigger but knowing has helped me keep myself in check. He's so masculine in a gentle way. He's consistent and makes me feel like I can finally be a woman. That's a real man! Not a punk who has a huge ego and uses people for his pleasure.

I agree, as someone who experienced trauma and had an absent father, I choosed to stay with emotionally unavailable men. This felt familiar to me, I allowed narcissists in my dating life. The moment put everything together and encouraged my self to have self respect and self worth and put boundaries things changed.

He worked for 2 years to get me to love him - love bombed me I guess. I had vetted him, looking for his social media (he had none) and googled his job, etc. I knew he'd been married twice before but ignored those red flags...he said he'd been too young, etc. Thank Heaven I never would sleep with him - he was supposedly a Christian too.. could quote scripture like a preacher. I actually thought the Lord brought him to me. Then I discovered the real him under a different name - nasty social media contacts, cam girls and sex workers. When I confronted him he ghosted me. I will be single from now on!

So that man you dodged, he is divorced in people's eyes but not God's. He's still married to his first wife unless she is dead. You helped me a lot as I didn’t have a male ( father figure) in my life and being raised by a single mom was a lot. Also, my mother mom ( my grandmother) was a single parent. Sexual sin and mental health issues are real. I’ve battled them both for a very long time. Eventhough I didn't repeat the cycle of being a single mother, I was still heavily into sexual sin. I can't have children now, but I pray for those you who do. I know the person for me is out there and i will continue to watch these videos to motivate me and guide me through the vetting process. I recently met a guy and i really liked him, however about a month in to seeing each other i realized i was an option and he lacks empathy. It was sad, however i realized that he didnt give a care, and i want to be with someone who gives a care. Kind men are attractive, disciplined men are attractive, secure, respectful and confident men are attractive. Lacking empathy is a red flag and a deal-breaker.

As an African woman, I have struggled with identifying as "black" when every value, tradition and wisdom that my parents raised me with is completely up-side-down here in America. It hurts to see how black American men treat their own women. The family structure is non-existent, adults want to remain rebellious teens partying well into their early 50's. The only thing I can say is that we are living in an era in which we must reflect on the consequences of identifying with unhealthy ideologies or social patterns, in which for centuries individuals of one gender have been trampled underfoot, expecting unconditionality and submission; without taking into consideration that the consequences were bound to occur at some point. Assuming responsibility, healing childhood traumas and breaking with toxic family patterns (that we have been dragging from generations ago, and that the only thing they do is perpetuate the cycle of abuse and violence in interpersonal and couple relationships); will be a good starting point to begin to restore assertive and non-violent dialogues in the present and future generations.

As an African woman, I have struggled with identifying as "black" when every value, tradition and wisdom that my parents raised me with is completely up-side-down here in America. It hurts to see how black American men treat their own women. The family structure is non-existent, adults want to remain rebellious teens partying well into their early 50's. Women have no requirements/standards for access to their wombs - they churn out children with anything with a pe**s. Because of this free access, the men so no need to improve themselves first before approaching a woman or sticking aropund after the baby is born. he gets busy immediately with the next and the next........so sad! Women deride GOOD MEN but desperately seek them once they hit their 40's. Please tell them Tony, We can get anybody's respect if we continue in this stupid cycle.Look, Bill Gates, Zuckerbag, Mudroch, Buffet, us Presidents etc.....all of 'em were married. They had all the money ikn the world to run through women and make zillions of out-of-wedlock kids but chose to be married instead.............just think about that for a second.

I think the implications are worse for us because we adopt American culture and culturally we offer more deference to/do not challenge our men. What I believe Tony is referring to is a mentality/thought process spreading through music and social media like wildfire. It's in dating culture and friendship culture. Separately, I mean this with all kindness: It's possible that your circle is small. Widen it by meeting black professionals, developing deeper relationships and even attending HBCU on campus events. This reads as a gross generalization of the black family structure and bolsters mass media representation of the black experience.
