This is actually weird. The OP8 Pro starts at $1400 CAD plus tax. It’ll be $1550 by the time everything is said and done. Equivalent of 85,000rs... How is that price difference fair, when considered globally? Ridiculous pricing strategy. The iPhone SE is 50% more expensive than the US prices here as well, even though our dollar is only 40% weaker- so agreed that the SE price is weird as well, but OP needs to figure out its prices in Canada/US/Europe. Obviously, they CAN afford to sell it at that lower price in India. And I don’t blame a company for trying to turn a profit, but when your phone is going to be so terribly priced, why not just buy an apple or a Samsung, there’s no longer a price advantage

At the site of ip ratings and in small letters at the end of rating list says that the water must be tap water and not water from sea cause particles in water may destroy the phone afterwards. A nice detail about the water resistan thing ( never waterproof )
I learned this the hard way. I used to have Sony Xperia Z which the company had claimed has an IP rating water resistance. I went on a coastal picnic, dunked it underwater and killed it almost instantly.

They see ads that they sink phones to capture photos , or they see spots advertising "water-resistan" phones but most of them they don't even know the difference between water resistant and waterproof. At least in my country like 90% of people think that phones with IP ratings can withstand any humidity situation

Me being a Samsung guy I must say One Plus made a great phone. It's nice to see them on Verizon wireless. Take care and stay safe brother. The S20 ultra would have been a beast but Samsung didn't take their time and perfect the camera.

Well for me personally I think oneplus is good for casual user or teenagers since they game a lot and doesn't care much about works, but for adults there's ton of feature that is made for productivity and multitasking. My girlfriend has an IPhone 11 pro max, which I had always heard had a better camera from RUclips reviewers. But I took a camera test yesterday and my OnePlus 7 pro was surprisingly better.

Hunter Tran Great point, Hunter Tran. I suppose OnePlus did so to achieve the waterproof capability for the 8 Pro. Longevity wise, I believe the punch hole display will do better but the motorized camera gives the screen a more immersive experience.
@Matthew Henry i think that in terms of design and practical use as well as water proofing, an in display selfie camera could potentially be the end all be all for smartphones. It wouldn't cause any water proofing issues and would be the most aesthetically pleasing. Of course I can imagine it would hinder photo quality.

I've been commenting on every reviewers video asking why they don't mention face unlock when they talk about how "they changed it from a pop up to a punch hole camera" face unlock has always been ultra fast and the pop up camera was either relatively slower or got the usual "it is advised you do not use the pop up camera for face unlock because it could cause issues with the motor" guys I'm someone who REALLY uses face unlock and not just someone who is pinpointing small things

Yeah seriously it makes no sense. You can get the s20+ for $1000 in the US from Samsung's website (yes the snapdragon version) so they are closer competitors.

Hey HowToMen. i have a problem with my oneplus 8 pro. when watching on streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon prime or games and maney other apps. there's a black bar where the pinhole camera i.With my OnePlus 7 pro you could putt all the apps in full screen . The OnePlus 8 pro however doesn't notch just a tiny pinhole. Why else we need a big screen if you can't change the that. On my screen settings I cannot put any app in full screen mode. Bro, imma tell ya right now, OnePlus did not include a red battery. It was a thing done by JerryRigEverything in a collab with DBrand. Jerry missed the red battery in OnePlus phones since the I believe the OnePlus 3.
Let me tell you the truth. I'm using oneplus 7pro it's been a year and I bought 8 pro on 5th May I have been using 8 pro for week also. I don't understand that why 7 pro has more faster fingerprint scanner then 8 pro. And 120 hz same as 90 hz. I didn't feel faster on 8 pro.

alright here is the @ tip you can use that @ to @, just open that camera & go to the last filter, boom now you can see through, its not that prominent & doesn't work on all objects but some less dense plastic remote controllers, game controllers, set-top box, even less dense cloths also.

Hey HowToMen. i have a problem with my oneplus 8 pro. when watching on streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon prime or games and maney other apps. there's a black bar where the pinhole camera i.With my OnePlus 7 pro you could putt all the apps in full screen . The OnePlus 8 pro however doesn't notch just a tiny pinhole. Why else we need a big screen if you can't change the that. On my screen settings I cannot put any app in full screen mode. Do you Now why is that.

Bro, imma tell ya right now, OnePlus did not include a red battery. It was a thing done by JerryRigEverything in a collab with DBrand. Jerry missed the red battery in OnePlus phones since the I believe the OnePlus 3.

Let me tell you the truth. I'm using oneplus 7pro it's been a year and I bought 8 pro on 5th May I have been using 8 pro for week also. I don't understand that why 7 pro has more faster fingerprint scanner then 8 pro. And 120 hz same as 90 hz. I didn't feel faster on 8 pro.
Weird. With my snapdragon s20 ultra I get 8 hours SOT with 120hz.
Depends on the usage.
Not 1440p though

What about display? I heard OP 8 pro has the display problems like green tint, image retention and screen burn in etc.

I am done with Oneplus. They are suppose to be the flagship killer. Now they are part of the flagship. And yet the Cameras are still not that great.
Very good and detailed review. But fact is even if the One Plus was a tad better than the S20 phones, I'd still go for the S20 solely because of the expandable storage.

just open that camera & go to the last filter,
boom now you can see through, its not that prominent & doesn't work on all objects but some less dense plastic remote controllers, game controllers, set-top box, even less dense cloths also.
It actually has a black battery, credits go to @jerryrigeverything for the red themed battery.
