I have the OnePlus 8 Pro and feel that the performance advantages of the 888 SoC vs 865 SoC are not worth the upgrade - also not convinced by the venture with Hasselblad. Plan on keeping it until possibly when the OP 10 appears. The real 'value' of having a top-of-the-range phone is plateauing out now (it seems) - other than battery efficiency and useful "tweaks" to the s/w to make the screen adaptable in terms of the refresh rate - I can't really see any significant game-changers in the next 3/5 years. Obviously, manufacturers are starting to commit to up to 3 years of software upgrades (Oppo, Vivo etc) which makes upgrading a necessity to take advantage of this. However, I'll be retaining my OP8 Pro for the foreseeable future. . . .
Stop the benchmark test, because they have nothing Todo with real life, many test have shown that the Snapdragon 865 is better than the 888 and it overheats. You are welcome
The display point for Oneplus 9 pro doesn't make sense just for the variable refresh rate. It's just supposed to save battery life and isn't a feature that makes the display look better. But u said that the battery life was about the same, so 8 pro should just get the point in general for being cheaper!
