Is the title for shock and awe or isit really not that bad of a movie ?
It’s a bad movie..
Nah, I love every movie/series Marvel puts out regardless of controversy or popular opinion, even She-Hulk but this movie sucked major donkey butt.
I don't think it's the car accident it's widely seen as. But it's not good either. The black-and-white sequence is a stand-out set-piece, and I genuinely enjoy the ending. But I do agree overall the comedy was overkill. There was a lot of it Ragnarok, but the jokes there were actually funny. No so much here. I still feel there are worse MCU movies out there, but this is still bottom tier for me. I genuinely enjoyed all of Phase 4 to varying degrees, but this movie was probably my least favorite project overall.
The only marvel movie I have not watched more then once, and never will. Sorry but for me this director is going downhill like M. Night
There trying to mix comedy and seriousness into one movie like ragnorock
I love the fact that Chris Hemsworth's family is in this. His son plays young Thor in the beginning where Thor is growing in a montage running thru the woods, his wife is the Wolf woman where he is seen hoomignnup on a giant wolf, his daughter is Love, Gor's daughter. Even his brother Luke plays stage Thor! The one brother Liam hasn't been in the Thor movies even though he was originally runner up being cast as Thor from the beginning lol
I never know that was his daughter
@@ElKamaleon777 Hitler was a bad guy.
@@fluffylittlebear Wrong
It’s actually Taika’s daughter playing Love
@@frazzyblue1384 No it's actually the daughter of the director.
Man that transition to black and white was awesome
That scene where Gorr is trying to make Thor call the axe, while choking Jane and making it tighter and tighter, is soo much more impactful when you remember he had to watch his brother die the exact same way. So when he does call the axe and caused a massive lighting explosion, was pretty damn epic.
Thanks for noticing that🥲😭
Christian Bale literally carried this whole movie. It's a shame Gorr doesn't have a lot of screen time.
exactly dude.. God Butcher.. and killed gods off screen T_T
Right Christian bale was showing so much depth and carried this movie to even be pleasing to watch honestly 😅❤
@@PrimeDimeTV agree.. he was actually intimidating on some scenes.. he could have been a recurring villain for the thor movies..
He wasnt even a GOD butcher. Which plethora of GODS did they show us of him killing? I would say he is a fake and only killed one.
From what I read they had actually fully filmed scenes of him killing several other gods, but then decided that those would make the movie like too dark or something so left them out of the final cut. Maybe they will be in some extended edition at some point...
The director, writers, producers, and staff all together asked their children to draw what they’re most afraid of. That’s why they involved their own children in the movie to get kidnapped after they helped draw Gorr’s shadow monsters.
Whatt😂😂😂😂😂
I love that. It's so adorable.
I love that they don't see the opinion in the net glad I'm not the only who actually enjoyed the movie
you not the only one i enjoyed the movie a lot I saw it 5 times in theaters lol
Give it time. I thought that too. After my 3rd watch I started seeing the flaws
Maybe you don't like good movies in which people there is actual hardwork
Wait, so you REALLY think that the MILLIONS of people who watched the movie and said it was average were just copying other's opinions and NOT their own analysis?
Not as high as millions, maybe thousands? Hundreds? Tens? Give me a number, how much percentage of people do you think just trolled and spammed online "this movie sucks".
You are just running on adrenaline, call down, watch the movie couple of times more and then come back. You'll start to like it less and less. When MAJORITY of the die hard and hardcore nerd fans of Thor themselves say it's a bad movie, it IS bad movie. That's why it's called POPULAR OPINION.
Even if you go by reviews from critics, they don't support your original statement. Don't casually dismiss other's criticism by saying generic bullshit like "I'm glad they don't see the opinion in the net", the"net" that you are talking about has MILLIONS of people who didn't like the movie, are they all wrong? Are they all haters? Every single one of them? Give me a number.
@@ramteja1550 Calm the fuck down and let this person have their fun. Christ it's just a movie. I let the internet taint my desire to see this and I regret it. I love this movie. Still do after multiple rewatches cause that's MY personal opinion. It's all subjective opinions. If someone enjoys something you don't, just let them. And just because die-hard Thor nerds say it's a bad movie DOES NOT make it a bad movie. I don't give a fuck if high class critics and art house film directors who know the movie-making process call it a bad movie. Why is that important? So long as the individual viewer has fun, that's all that matters. Unless you watch movies strictly for the entertainment of others. But that's just stupid.
My take from this movie is that its mostly told from the perspective of Korg. You hear him at the start of the movie telling it, but for me it just continued without his narration being heard. That's why it seems so fantastical. Was it my favourite Thor movie with that knowledge? No. Ragnorok will take some beating. I'd probably put it above 1 and defo above 2. I never really had them 2 movies that high anyway.
I like that take. Definitely seems to make a lot sense
Stolen take
2 of my friends also came to a similar conclusion after watching it when it came out. Sounds like others did too. I remember posting this on Badd Medicine 6 months ago and getting shit on for having this take. So maybe you think Im stealing it from myself?
It's not theft. It's common sense
yea thats fact he is narrator and not only on start but middle and end too
I loved when u guys did the Asgardian handshake 😂🌚
I think the storytelling style of this film is kind of like an old norse epic. I believe they tended to be very quick and to the point and with a lot of focus on personality.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
As for me, I thought it was good during the few serious moments, but too much of the film was overly jokey. And as someone who's read the comics that this film was based on, I was hugely disappointed that they strayed too far from the source material. I probably wouldn't have minded the comic deviations as much if we got to see "The God Butcher" actually butchering Gods. In the comics, he is EXTREMELY difficult to defeat. It actually takes 3 Thor's to stop him. He was nowhere near as intimidating as he should've been. And those damned yelling goats.... They are so annoying every time I see them. 😖
Having not read the comics for a VERY long time, and accepting that the MCU is its own thing now, I just don't care anymore. They never accurately adapted the comics anyways, so it's best to just not have any comic-based expectations, I feel.
As for the goats, the thing that gets me is how people complain about the goats screaming every second and I'm just like, after Thor calls them good for meat, they shut up except for four very understandable times. I understand if people find them annoying, but they really aren't there as much as people say. But I also don't find them very annoying either. They're a punchline twice and a war cry twice.
@@infinityfilms3535
Yeah because those are clearly normal goats 🙄
technically Thor has goats in the Norse mythology too and they are annoying as well
There’s a theory that Thor will get 6 solo movies in total, where the first two were more about “Prince Thor learning what it might take to be king of Asgard, while dealing with the darker aspects of the universe (infinity stones, learning responsibility)”
Then the second two movies cover Thor’s journey through grief and recovery, having lost a lot of his friends and family (Odin, Frigga, Loki, Sif and Warriors Three, Heimdall, Tony, Steve, Natasha). Thor’s goofier character in Ragnarok and especially Love and Thunder probably might be his way of coping with grief.
There’s a theorized “third trilogy” for Thor where he will be an old “King Thor” that is wise and very powerful. May be more serious again.
So in this way, unlike the other characters who get 3 solo movies as their trilogy, Thor may be getting a trilogy of duologies (three sets of two movies each).
He kinda has to get another one since hercules is after him
this is a great theory ngl
Hope fcken not mate, I'm gonna be very honest with ya, I walked out of Thor 2 and 4, I thought Thor 1 was average and the rest is Yada Yada Yada. I hope they just drop Thor movies in general.

Go cry somewhere else dctard.

It is interesting to note that Loved was portrayed by India Rose Hemsworth, the daughter of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky, the sister of Tristan Hemsworth and Sasha Hemsworth, and the niece of Luke Hemsworth. Since 1986, I have been a fan of Thor. There is a lot of '80s influence in this movie, which I enjoyed. I liked Thor: Love and Thunder. The movie reminded me of Conan the Barbarian (1982), Flash Gordon (1980), The Beastmaster (1982), Krull(1983), Neverending Story (1984), Heavy Metal (1981), Red Sonja (1985), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), Legend (1985), Masters of the Universe (1987), The Princess Bride (1987) and Willow (1988). I also enjoyed the nod to Jean-Claude Van Damme's mid-air split.
Excited for She hulk, wakanda forever & Antman quantumania
And the Holiday specials!
The opening with Gorr and the last 30ish minutes of this movie I think is great.
Honestly, I loved how whack the movie is while still telling a story to empower children (as Thor literally did in the end). I agree it's not the best marvel film, but I love how Jane's cancer and Gorr was featured gracefully without undermining what they are from the comics. Gorr is oustanding even if he was a bit far from his comic counterpart, but to give him a simple motivation that will lead to him killing all gods is great character writing.
And I relate to Monica crying when it came to children. I cried when Thor enchanted the children's weapons and he gave them courage. I really felt that.
Thor is now a father. Not just to Love but to all children of Asgard. Legit Thor is the All-Father now.
It wasn't comic accurate
Strombreaker is most funny character in whole Thor love and thunder movie 😂😂
some fun fact for this movie:
-the 2 goats are reference to actual North mythology: Tanngrisnir(teeth grinder) and Tanngnjóstr(teeth thin) were 2 goats pull the chariot of the god Thor in Norse mythology.
- the girl who played "Love", daughter of Gorr, actually India Rose Hemsworth, the daughter of Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth :)
That title shocked me
I think this movie is the MCU movie with the most kids in it, because of this it may have changed a lot of things in the movie. They seem to have taken the kids into account with the story and the humor. If you notice when they story gets too dark, something silly happens to lighten the mood. All of those jokes that fell flat, kids think those are hilarious. It's like Marvel remembered that kids like superheroes and they are going to be in the audience.
I found it refreshing. Somehow they made a heavy topic feel light, it's what I needed after endgame. I couldn't handle another Endgame right now, this was the plette cleanser I needed.
Also I'd like to point out that each of the Thor movie has their tone set by whoever is narrating them.
The first movie is Narrated by Odin, and it's very serious and dramatic.
The second movie is narrated by Loki disguised as Odin, and it twists and turns. Even though it has another villain, Loki is in the spotlight.
The third is narrated by Thor, we get to see his sense of humor as he tries to put on a brave face while he tells the tale of how he lost everything.
The fourth movie is Narrated by Korg, a weird alien guy telling a story to a bunch of kids.
Just my take on the Thor franchise.
An interesting comment, especially the run down of the narrators. I hated the movie, but your comment made me realize one possible reason why. When the original Star Wars trilogy came out, I think Lucas told the story he wanted to see. Later, when he made the prequels, he was thinking of what the audience wanted, and gave them Jar Jar Binks. Now that I'm thinking of it, most of the flaws in the Star Wars movies come from attempts to pander to the audience. I'm wondering if writing for an audience is the primary factor that ruins movies: when you sublimate your own creativity away from the needs of the story and instead substitute what you think the audience wants.
I think the most successful movies that stand the test of time are the ones that set and follow their own rules.
"Let's make a superhero movie for kids!"
"Yeah! Great idea!"
"We'll include all the things kids love, like dying of cancer, and talking about orgies, and homosexuality, and lots of death!"
"Wait, what?"
"Perfect for kids!"
@@PhilBagels Your comment would be good if you didn't add "homosexuality" in it. What's wrong with talking about homosexuality with kids bruh.
The tone of the opening was what I wish the rest of the movie was. I hadn't seen any trailers so I thought the movie was going to be a somber film about loss of faith and purpose :(
Also if you both didn’t know the Gorr’s daughter is actually Chris Hemsworths real life daughter
Fun fact:
I believe the first time we've heard Eternity mentioned was in Guardians 2. When Peter's Celestial power awakens, he looks up and says, "I see it. Eternity."

I liked a lot of things about this movie. There were some things that didn't hit for me. Even in the MCU's lower rated films there's several things l can pick out and enjoy and l can't say that for most franchises
Right? I don't care much for Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Avengers 2, or either Black Panther films (although the BP films are great films, I just don't care much for a couple characters and story beats), and I REALLY hate MoM, but even those have tobs of excellent moments, characters plot points, set pieces, and ideas that are awesome. Although in this film, I loved everything. Only P4 film better was Shang-Chi in my opinion.
@@grandpagohan1 putting this crap film along with Shang chi 🤦
It was fine. I think it got more hate than it deserves. It helped me when half way through I realized it was this story as told by Korg... so that was a lot of the silliness.
Yooooo keep em reactions coming G. ❤❤
A decade ago I never imagined they would implement the screaming goat meme into a comic book film, but here we are. They don't mention their names out loud, but they're called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder.
Gorr's daughter Love was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter India Rose. In fact, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi had their kids join as some of New Asgard's children.
Imagine if the Guardians knew about Eternity. If they stuck around long enough, either Nebula or Peter would have wished to revive Gamora whereas Drax would bring back his wife and daughter.
I didn't expect for them to be around for much of the movie, but I was hoping to at least get a teaser about where they're headed next. At least we don’t have to wait long to find out. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is about a month away.
Also, if Jane and Heimdall managed to arrive to Valhalla, I wonder if original Loki also made it in. He did try to stop Thanos himself. Maybe that alone qualifies as a warrior's death to grant him entry. At least we still have his analyst double who's no different than the original. He's still our one and the same Loki.
I'm not gonna lie: I was hoping for a cameo from Analyst Loki, but I guess it isn't time for the brothers to reunite just yet. Hopefully we see them together in one of the upcoming Avengers films. One's gonna be called the Kang Dynasty, and the other Secret Wars. We still have a ways to go, but the Avengers will reassemble.
Loki did not gold ash away ad Thor lay on his dead body as the ship was exploding after Thanos powerstoned it.

If I find any critics with the same opinion you have, does it mean you don't have your own opinions?
I loved the MCU and I don't have anything against Lady Thor. The only problem I had with this movie was there was too many jokes. Even on scenes where it should be like serious, like for instance where the kids were kidnapped, Thor was still taking it as a joke. Like it feels that the stakes are not too high because of the jokes. Also, I feel they wasted Gorr. They made him like Gorr the kidnapper instead of Gorr the god butcher. Killing gods off-screen.
@@OshiiBass I didn't mind the jokes as my much but ya my main issue is they didn't do enough with Gorr the storyline he is from in the comics is soooooooooo much better that I can understand while some people might of been majorly disappointed In the movie

I watch thor movies differently than others because Thor movies are usually the Bridge to all the other movies. So personally I think this movie will be better after it gets deeper in the future then you rewatch it. Like how Thor the Dark world resurfaced.

I was initially slightly taken aback how pretty much EVERYTHING was turned up to eleven; both the amount of humor and jokes, the grim moments and space-viking-gods-marvel-cosmology wonder and it left me a bit overwhelmed walking out of the theater. Then now revisiting it again I think I see the point to a lot of it, it makes the mood whiplashes hit even harder and there's actually quite a bit of rewatchability here (especially after seeing futher films in this phase) so I recommend you guys to revisit it too after a bit of time. Also, I was surprised how much I liked the kids here and you make a good point of looking forward to what they cook up will be fun. First watch, enjoyed it but with caution, second least fave Thor film, repeat watches, appreciate it more, second favorite Thor film.

I feel like an idiot cause it wasn’t until someone told me *today* that Jane telling Thor that she’s sick is actually the first time the word “cancer” is used in the movie.
That’s my favorite scene in the film and the impact of that line gets me every time.
Just to pre-game a bit. The negative discourse around the film kept me away during it's theatre run, so I didn't catch it until it was on D+ and even then it was on a whim. But once I did I instantly fell in love with this movie. I love almost everything about it from it's character to it's story to it's jokes. I deeply regret not seeing it in theaters. Never let the internet decide your taste for you.
56:40 Monica: I have something to tell you.
Hercules is in the Marvel comics as well. He and Thor are sort of rivals / frenemies. 🙃
Some fun Thor mythology.
Thor is actually dumb. Just strong and dumb.
Theres a myth where Thor cross dresses in order to steal his hammer back.
Thor also has a chariot thats pulled by flying goats. (Santa thor?)
Bonus, zues is actually kind of an evil and selfish prick in his mythology.
And Mjiolner is named after miller. Thats why the handle is so short, some believe before the myth evolved it eas never a hammer but a tool for milling wheat and flour, so the fact that thor is cooling pancakes at the end may be a pretty clever and hidden nod to some pretty obscure knowledge on Norse mythology.
I can see why some people wouldnt like it but i love the fact that so much effort was put into stuff that most people would never catch.
Myth is nothing more than stories told over thousands of years. People wont like it but this was weirdly the most accurate depiction of Thor in marvel.
Also, the greek/roman gods weren't made Italian. They were Italian to begin with lol
The sword at the end of the eternals is actually another cursed blade in the comics although I don't think it's nearly as powerful.
Hmm. That's a good question. I know the Ebony Blade is seriously formidable, but I'm not sure how it stacks up against the Necrosword.
@@dansdiscourse4957 I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the Necrosword is much more powerful than the Ebony Blade.

I Like That Movie 🍿🍿🍿.
I like to think that this movie was just Korg telling the story. I almost wish the title was called Thor Love and Thunder (as told by Korg.) That way some of the sillier details could just be explained away as having been through Korg's filter of perception. It improves the movie in my head that way. Lol
I love Thor Love and Thunder
I wanna watch movie with Monica😭❤
I give this movie a 6/10 Gorr wasn’t done anywhere near as big a threat as he was in the Comics. I didn’t like the look of him. They should have made him look closer to his comic book look! I mean a alien from space that gives off Freddy Krueger vibe was awesome. Next was how they tried to add more comedy then Ragnarok failed. I did enjoy the story evolution for Thor taking up his Odin like role in the universe as well as Mighty Thor or Lady Thor with Jane
I thought this movie was avenge but GODAMN I fucking love Thor using his magic to empower the kids ⚡️
This is a crazy movie but I never expected it to be anything else and the actress of 'Love' is Chris's real life daughter which is interesting and honostly the best things about this movie was Jane,Vlakrie and Gorr. Gor scared me a lot and I though Christian did it so very well. Jane dying happened because the actress asked that to happen because she has no interest in acting in more movies but she liked the fact that in this one Jane was vonrible and yet strong as well. Tess and Natalie are actually real life friends so they let that show on screen as well which is cool in my opinion.

This guy rocking a turtle neck...😋 lookin like Archer if Archer had a different hue to their skin. You look good in it, bro! I just bring jokes. All love towards you, sir!
I'm just about at the end of the movie portion, right as Jane passes. I'm glad you guys have enjoyed the movie. It's my fave out of the Thor series. Ragnorak is second but it can't compete with such heart that is in this film.

It was certainly not my favorite MCU movie, but it's a fun one and the good parts are really good! The comedy doesn't always hit, but it's ok
I really have a lot of issues with this movie and it's sad cause the core plot is actually really good. It's just so far over the top that I feel like I'm dying of an overdose of cheese.
I actually really enjoyed this movie, it was so all over the place that I could just sit back and enjoy it, didn't have to be like super invested or worried, but then because of that, I was super caught off guard by how serious the last piece of the movie was with Jane legit being bed ridden and then dying in battle.
There were some jokes that def didn't hit though, but a lot of it was so good. You should check out some other Taika Waititi movies, he has this insane style he brings to all his projects. I'd start with a movie called Jojo Rabbit for something light to introduce yourselves to Taika.
Top 3 MCU imo
Definitely most underrated and overhated in my opinion. I don’t understand the hate.
Thor The Dark World is a much better experience after Endgame and having witnessed Loki's growth.
I didn't mind the humor, the funniest single one liner for me was Nebula yelling "HURRY UP!" at Peter.
They literally killed Thor in this movie 😂
Better than what I remember actually. Could be a really good movie if they made it more serious
That's because you didn't have to watch the whole thing this time 😂
That's taika's huge flaw. He leans too much into the comedy part of it all. I wish he continued with the infinity war thor and leaned more into that rage and seriousness
Best movie ever? Pass the blunt rico
Oh wow, am i allow to like this movie? I thought i have to hate it cause the internet told me too. Its not a masterpiece but i genuninely had a great time with this movie. People love to complain as always
This is the first time I don’t skip through the sponsor explanation. Your voice is so calming lol anyways I feel the cheesiness in the beginning makes sense since Thor got his ass kicked the last time we saw him so I think he’s being over the top to make up for it. Plus he’s still super depressed. But it makes me love the ending that much more because he looks happy again. 💜

The girl who played thors daughter is his daughter in real life
The emotional core really worked for me. It was the best MCU for me in that regard. The themes really came together at the end and everything reinforced the idea of choosing what you love over fear and death. I also believe that how someone watched the film is important to whether they enjoyed it or not. Many comics fans saw the villain's name and decided it was the Gorr run from the comic, but it was always promoted as a romantic comedy, and it wasn't named after any comic run. It was its own thing, a sort of _Princess Bride_ fairytale set in the MCU with Korg as the narrator. Once I got what they were doing, I liked it quite a lot

I have a theory that Taika Watiti is a genius but even they have limits and he HEAVILY overexerted himself with all his movies and tv shows he hass going on and it's starting to show...dude needs to take a step back cause while this film has some great moments he is dragging the rest of it HARD.
Didn’t dislike this movie as much as most but the comedy did not hit whatsoever. When the movie was serious, it was really good.
