My grandfather is very old. He is 91yrs now. I don't know why but this song suddenly reminded me of him. He is a big prem nazir fan and used to sing all his songs in almost all functions he went. This was one of his favorite songs. At present, my grandpa is at my native place and I'm away in another city bcoz of work. His health is deteriorating day by day. He is no longer the healthy and active Appupan he was. Seeing the once active Appupan in this condition now really breaks my heart (believe it or not, till the age of 89 he was very active and was even more active than his grandkids). This song suddenly reminded me of him. It reminded me of the days he used to take us kids to temples, functions and the other memories we had with him. My dearest grandpa... Interesting... I have never heard this particular stanza before... I had this song on LP and CD and it is not there in either. Even in this rendition it feels bolted on... there is a difference in the sound quality and cadence when these particular lines are sung. I wonder what is the history here.
