Starship Simulator NEWS: Kickstarter Goal Smashed

- Starship Simulator went to Kickstarter early last week looking to raise enough money to push the project forward and take it into Early Access on Steam.
Just 72 Hours later and the project had sailed through its initial goal of £65,000 and was charging toward the first of its stretch goals.

Looks great. I tried the demo and did the cold startup mission. I was impressed that the game actually made it seem like playing an engineer could be fun and engaging.
I love the cold start demo. I signed up immediately for the kickstarter. Can't wait to see where this goes.
This game has potential. It uses Unreal Engine, I assume version 5, which has the tools necessary to dynamically generate real planetary terrain including water, flora and fauna, etc., so perhaps this game will include planetary landings at some point. This game has an exciting goal. Thanks CMDR Buur. o7!
I'm Commander Redacted and I support this is my favorite project on the Kickstarter Citadel.
As of now its actually passed that stretch goal (vr support) and is on its way towards the next one (alien station derelict shuttle away missions iirc) over 156K raised so far.

But yes, my negativity aside, interesting. Space games do capture the imagination, and the Kickstarter going so quick illustrates this. If only this interest was reflected and acted on in other existing games? Yes that's you Devs of those games.
This looks cool. Is it similar to a Star Trek. There seems to be some resemblance.

if only they'd add a more Serenity like ship, where you feel more in the pilot seat than the command chair.
The Magellan class ship in the demo is the big daddy massive cruiser, they are going to be doing smaller 5/10 man crewed ships eventually.

hm, I do wonder how this will fit in really. we have elite and sc is just getting better and better
And Starship Simulator will probably let us walk around inside our ship in VR before both of them. *8')
I think the crew aspect of Starship Simulator is where it's gonna shine. Being part of a big crew on a starship is definitelly something most Star Trek fans would love
I think that Starship Simulator will be sufficiently different in implementation and in the gameplay, for me anyway.
I already own Elite and Star Citizen, and have backed this too. 🙂
