it would probably feel a lot smoother as well as you dont have to drag your whole body to one side for each lever and switch. you could literally sit down and just swivel at the controls like the character would.

If they're warships and around the level of technology as this cannon, all their fuel and munitions probably went up when hit. Fragments when dealing with larger ships and, indeed, a lingering trail would be quite good additions.
Likely not due to them using Godot as an engine. A friend of mine is building a recreation of it in Resonite VR though, hope he makes that world accessible to the public at some point

I love games were you actually have to set the console and gadgets , like a Sim, and not just a simple click´n´shoot game. There´s is a game dev by the HIstory Polish Dep named "Aviators" were has historical education and you actually have to configure the bomber Halifax (Gas, Electrical, Radio Configuraction, Tires pressure, Engine Fuel, etc....)
This got me nostalgic AF. i don't know if any of you randonmly saw the short movie MEMORIES, the Cannon Fodder chapter years ago. Was just a kid and barely understood a thing but still, it marked my spirit for sure. This has the exact same vibe and I am truely hyped.
For the missile they should've had something cinematic like Missile plopping out of a ground silo, then suddenly igniting while coming back down and then suddenly hyper accelerating towards the craft.
If you watched Katsuhiro Otomo's animated movie "Memories" one of the stories called "Cannon Fodder" has a similar plot to this, totalitarian countries fighting each other with enormous cannons where everyday life is centered on them.
I genuinely love how defending the area from spies with a massive cannon, something that should be action packed, has been presented as a casual menial desk job. This is probably the single most accurate depiction of what this kind of thing is actually like, after a while the novelty wears of and the urgency is lost on you, and this crazy high stakes task becomes monotonous just like any other job.
The game seems really cool, but it lacks a powerful recoil animation on the cannon when it is firing, to give this extra powerful feeling and satisfaction! Can't wait to try it!
