@XxDotApRoxX69 Just one then. More options when someone surrenders isn't new mechanics. Being flogged isn't a new mechanic either, that's called a cutscene... cutscenes aren't gameplay mechanics
Only thing I can suggest if it's possible is have the NPCs react to others in combat. I can't imagine IRL if you chopped a guy through the skull his two companions wouldn't react with some sort of horror and anger. Would be amazing to have some sort of combat de-escalation too; fist fight, pull your sword, guy wants to go back to talking instead of taking out his own sword :L
They do? Sometimes. I agree it's not realistic enough for a couple of dice throwers in a tavern to stake their lives for a bow, but just about every game out there is much worse -- typically every fight is to the death in an RPG. The alchemist surrendered almost as soon as his thugs weren't coming to help. This was also in the first game.

That’s not the point, they can make good looking trailers but at least they are cinemáticas running in the actual game engine. Most companies use CGI outside of the game and don’t even bother showing some gameplay before release.
@@theonlyD The gameplay was not scripted, you can see that miles away, he was missing the crossbow shot and doing some mistakes. And that is actually the game engine so even if it is not rendered in real time like some cinematics from kcd 1 is still the game engine.
Exactly, it has completely different vibe if you know how similar Czech and Polish are, especially in how they sound. I bet they were even more similar a few hundred years ago. The sentence from a Polish guy "why do you speak to me as if I'm an idiot" (loose translation) is very weird since he keeps talking in his own language, foreign for Henry. First sequel in a long time that doesn't look like a crazy redesign that changed everything from the first game that made it good. It looks like all they did was just build upon what was already there, and truly made a sequel instead of entirely different game. Also crazy that it got delayed and it looks this good already, so that has to say something.
Im a bit glad they delayed it. You can still see a lot of quirks with how the characters move that is a bit un natural. Theres also some pretty noticeable stuttering. I think if they released it like this it would be in a state similar to the first. Which is to say a bit buggy but story and world good enough to keep you hooked.
What are you talking about.. 99% of sequels are like that - new location and story with mostly same gameplay, with some additional weapons and gameplay options.
That's a good point. I complained about the graphics, but the 1st one was so immersive, the graphics didn't matter. More of the same actually sounds great to me
This is basically the finished product, you wont see any major changes from now until release. Majority is just polishing up on bug fixes/performance maybe even slight UI changes. @@caligero3000not a all. You were already able to do that in the first game. You probably would be surprised by how colorful the late medieval period was. The bunnies for example are so medieval and a nod to the many bunnies in medieval manuscripts. Game will have more depth in many respects.
I’m no game dev, but there are two things you could do to make conversations feel VASTLY more realistic. Have the characters make eye contact, and have NPCs frown slightly. Just slightly. At the moment, their eyes seem too wide like they’re staring into a void. Set the frown animation to like.. 5-10% and I bet they’d look way more human. That way, they won’t look angry, they’ll just look focused.
There's a lot of subtle things that can be done. But a lot of not so subtle things too that absolutely may be in the pipeline for the devs. I hope it is. Things like leaning in when angry or leaning back when scared. I think they may have automated some of the work by analyzing audio cues, to get sample data until they get to it, or something of the sort. With the slight increase in visual fidelity they are heading into uncanny valley territory with their cinematics/animation system. I hope they plan to address it! But I can tell the overall art direction is better!
I agree, but I wonder if this is feasible in their game engine. The world and overall fidelity absolutely seem miles better than KCD1 (which was not that bad to begin with). But then again, I am a layman when it comes to developing games, so I don't know. I don't think it's horrible, and I would get used to it - my hype remains sky high! But improvements here and there, even just minor improvements, would be much appreciated

I have a tiny suggestion that will improve the immersion: 9:22 12:19 When Henry whistles people react literally instantly while Henry is still whistling and it breaks the immersion. So, to fix that people should react after ~1-2 seconds.
Another thing with the whistle, I hope there’s more than two lines for when someone is searching. Would be really cool to take out all but one guy in a bandit camp, and then while he’s looking for you, he hears a whistle.. “is that you Dave?? Stop messing around come out” Or other immersion building voice lines like that. Hearing “what was that” a million times during stealth gets old.

@@nicechock Agreed. The first game was an amazing experience, except for the combat, which was awful. There was a 'pull move' that enemies often performed on the player, pulling you towards them from range, making the camera spin, while the enemies can land free hits on you. The only thing I ask you guys is to be careful with optimization. We had serious problems in KCD1, even with high end pcs, some areas couldn't keep stable FPS.
My favorite gaming moment ever was after getting involved in a melee on the road to Ledetchko during a rainstorm, finally hitting the pub and sitting outside playing farkle and getting drunk whilst watching the flashes of lighting across the river over Rattay. In my headphones I could hear all the hilarious conversations coming from the bathhouse next door. Total 100% immersion. Visit the batthouse for a slap and a tickle, getting dark, back to fleece more peons at farkle by the light of the fire, then off to bed. And KCD2 is going to be even better ? Not sure I can handle all the awesomeness.
So many little moments like that across all of my playthroughs set this game in stone as my favorite of all time. I’ve played oblivion, Skyrim, Witchers 2 and 3, and countless others, and none of them came as close to dropping me in a world that I wanted to stay in more than KCD. Other than when I was achievement hunting, I never fast traveled in that game because it’s so beautiful to just ride along the roads and witness the beauty of the Czech countryside, and the score, my God the soundtrack really goes a long way of immersing you and making you feel like you’re in a dream, even though it’s more based in reality than most other rpg titles. I don’t care if I’m the last fan on earth, I will always be a fan of this beautiful saga. ❤️
@Lolien medieval manuscripts are, in fact, full of weird armed bunnies. It's the rest of the UI that seems somewhat more cartoonish when compared to KCD1- it's probably more about colors than anything else, as the design seems pretty much the same as in the first game...
5:05 One thing I hope they fix that was also an issue in the first game; NPCs giving you dialogue either way too early or too late. It'll be my birthday a week later, so maybe I'll get it beforehand as a pre-birthday gift for myself 😬
@@Joostvb1989 thanks, and i also want to congratulate you on your upcoming birthday
First sequel in a long time that doesn't look like a crazy redesign that changed everything from the first game that made it good. It looks like all they did was just build upon what was already there, and truly made a sequel instead of entirely different game. Also crazy that it got delayed and it looks this good already, so that has to say something.
It bodes really well, they didn’t overhaul which means all the time has when into refining and hopefully bug fixing too
Im a bit glad they delayed it.
Im also pretty sure they delayed to possibly get a chance at GOTY as the game doesnt stand a chance to get it this year.
Bought the collector's edition. I can NOT wait for this game!
When they said "henry can cause a little mischief in town" i wasnt expecting them to show him mass slaughtering all the towns folk xD
@@reposter6434 That's because vavra dropped the grounded realistic feel the first game had and went for the casual arcadey marvel slop feel this time around.
@@caligero3000No, there is choices that you can make. It's pretty obvious
They know gamers.
Too much realism can ruin some fun game design, so they wanna make the game a pseudo Oblivion style open world.
Instead of magic, being able to use tools as secondary weapons would be nice, like throwing a knife from a pocket/holster mind swing.
@@caligero3000not a all. You were already able to do that in the first game. You probably would be surprised by how colorful the late medieval period was. The bunnies for example are so medieval and a nod to the many bunnies in medieval manuscripts. Game will have more depth in many respects.

@@SkyCapitanCZgame will be more impressive in many other respects.
But I can tell the overall art direction is better!
you mean like an improved version of Oblivion's radiant AI?
Yeah there’s definitely a little something that could be done with the eyes. Everything else looks good enough to be not distracting
Yeah, they sort of remind me of Thunderbird puppets.

@@FormOverFlair We watched it indeed, Lord Edge.
that is peak KCD. I'd be disappointed if they changed that into the typical "music matches the mood" type of thing. I want my peaceful medieval music while breaking into some npc's house, stealing their belongings and stealth killing guards in the way.

Im only at 8:00 but i have to describe this game... and ONLY one word fits; "BRILLIANT" (Im 67 years old, been playing PC Games since the Commodore Era, which is pre-windows 3.1) I truly hope this is a SMASHING SUCCESS and you all reap the rewards at Warhorse Studios for such well done work!
This looks amazing. My only criticism is that I preferred KCD1's more painterly looking icons and "reputation faces" than the new 3D ones
Nothing that mods can't fix.
Dan Vávra said that some icons like Henry's 3D figure on map is already changed. Maybe they change others too.
@@FordzyS I for one prefer no icon on the map :)
To me they look like engravings or wax stamps, still fitting for a medieval game in my opinion
1. Who made a script for this showcase is fucking genius with heart in the right place
2. Game looks absolutely amazing - faces and interiors are huge leap. Not sure about that UI and HUD tho. Icons in the inventory are looking like some Minecraft resource pack, health bar is also too much "cartoony" for me. But that is small detail, I already preordered.
did you get the gold edition? I don't really like to pre-order but I do love kcd1 enough to want to pre-order kcd2 haha.
Most of the UI is probably a placeholder for this early build
I don’t understand how people rationalize pre ordering over waiting like one day for reviews. Setting yourself up for disaster if the game is bad tbh
@@Chadius_ThundercockSupporting this company with preorders so they can deliver better product. First game was already good and got lot of fixes, people still trust this company.
This isnt made by Ea kind of shit.
You can still refund it in steam after release, if it turns out garbage.
@@Chadius_Thundercock I generally do not pre-order games, but I tend to make exceptions for labors of love from smaller studios like Warhorse. I've gotten so much enjoyment from KCD that Warhorse can basically just take my money, at this point.
I have a tiny suggestion that will improve the immersion:
9:22
12:19
When Henry whistles people react literally instantly while Henry is still whistling and it breaks the immersion. So, to fix that people should react after ~1-2 seconds.
They just need to slow down the reaction time of the NPCs slightly and its perfect
Oh wow you are right. Such a minor detail but actually not so minor
I hope if you have high charisma and whistle at old women they get bashful
Another thing with the whistle, I hope there’s more than two lines for when someone is searching. Would be really cool to take out all but one guy in a bandit camp, and then while he’s looking for you, he hears a whistle.. “is that you Dave?? Stop messing around come out”
Or other immersion building voice lines like that. Hearing “what was that” a million times during stealth gets old.
I just hope they fix their eyes being closed before they get their finishing blow.
From a kickstarter to having this awesome sequel, I'm so happy for this studio.
Soon. I can almost taste the Saviour Schnapps.
i hope they dont make that a feature again, id rather just have a save when ever i want.

How crazy is it that less then a week ago I finally decided to give the game a true try. I’ve been scared thinking it would be too hard or complex even though I’ve had it in my library for years. And it’s been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Now I’m hearing all this KCD2 talk and I’m even more excited
Same. Played it a few years ago now, I was also hesitant because of the supposed realism. Now it's one of my favorite games of all time and I can't wait for part 2.
I played the first game this year and instantly fell in love. I was so sad when I finished it, couldn't get enough of it. And then lo and behold, we're getting a sequel. I can't wait, especially after this video.
I was hoping they had fully modern and fluid freecombat. The 1st one it was horrible. This is almost as bad lock on target combat i dont think even mods will save.
@@nicechock Agreed. The first game was an amazing experience, except for the combat, which was awful. There was a 'pull move' that enemies often performed on the player, pulling you towards them from range, making the camera spin, while the enemies can land free hits on you. Hopefully, KCD2 is more polished than that.
14:55 - You can now have loadouts! 👍
Also the items in the inventory are now categorized where as in the first it didn't, you could accidentally sell valuable items if you're not paying attention, I'm happy they changed it. ❤Warhorse!
You could do that in the first game by sell based on valuable weight what you were wearing and others

optimization is a funny thing. i had no problems with an i7 2600 and a 1060. yet, buddies with top tier rigs said they struggled.

It's cute indeed and helpful and all, just don't find the design of it very old Czech accurate..it feels a tad too cartoonish for me
@Lolien medieval manuscripts are, in fact, full of weird armed bunnies. It's the rest of the UI that seems somewhat more cartoonish when compared to KCD1- it's probably more about colors than anything else, as the design seems pretty much the same as in the first game...

One thing I hope they fix that was also an issue in the first game; NPCs giving you dialogue either way too early or too late. The first guy's telling you to fish his body out when you already have it, and the second guy speaks as if you're running away when you're only taking two steps to put the body down. It's a bit immersion breaking.
Also... the corporal movement and Face animations are quite horrible tbh... they should improve that side of the game, it looks like a 2012 rpg

@@happybunnywabbit yeah! The thing is that... it's sad because graphically it seems quite nice but then you look at the faces and some aspects of gameplay and it looks like an old game
If you have not played kcd 1 I can confirm that because the game has too many simulations working in tandem and best immersion possible, the stiff animations will just fade away. To be fair, No one can explain the game and do it justice. You need to experience it to understand. Thank you Warhorse.

This was quite difficult to explain lol. I hope I managed to get what I mean across.
My only nitpick and it's a very little one is the black screen going into conversation, I wish it'd be seamless but overall this is looking like everything I wanted from a sequel
