ok i have a question, why are the dialogue choices only one simple word for the player? the reason why i ask this is because the NPC you are speaking to seems to assume you added more things to say and yet you only said one word through that text that is provided, will the base mod fill in these gaps with full sentences during these dialogue situations or will they just be this odd choice in one word limited dialogue? also i thought that every NPC was going to use volunteer voices and not the vanilla Oblivion voices, is this still the case? or did bethesda allow you guys to use the oblivion voices?
i will say this, i may not have much faith in the gaming industry as a whole anymore, but i do have faith in the modding community at large as they never seem to fail to keep their promises and they aren't greedy either. and i understand that much of that is due to people who love to game and love to share amazing experiences all because they are passionate about these projects, the main stream industry is only interested in money and exploiting people for political gains. i find myself not wanting to play any new games much anymore these days, because the kinds of games i want are in these passion projects via the modding community's in the bethesda modding community, both skyrim and FO4, i can't run starfield on my machine but these mods provide me with more than enough for my needs most of the time, i have not purchased a game in nearly 5 years because it's gotten so bad in the AAA gaming space, i know there are indy games but those rarely get my attention as much as the modding scene gets my attention for a game i already own.

the graphics and textures look soft. with such vibrant colours it has an almost cartoony aestetic, and i LOVE it! it looks absolutely incredible. very Oblivion, and a stark contrast to the gritty washed out Skyrim
The fact that you remade Chilrend even though there's already a version of the sword in Skyrim really shows how much love and craft was put into this project.
@@DorgpoopI grew up on Oblivion as my first ES game too. But let’s be real and honest here the Chillrend in Vanilla Oblvi’ is also just the glass short sword colored blue with a slightly longer blade. But still agree all weapons in Skyrim are paddles compared to Oblivion or Morrowind
I remember doing this quest 18 years ago, I was so hyped to have a powerful spell lol. I was a sophmore in high school playing on my xbox 360. My sister took me to Circuit City the week before so I could get this game for my bday. Oblivion will always be my number one game of all time. Im very excited for this. I want my lady to play so she will finally understand why I say Oblivion is the greatest game ever made. Thank you guys!
Oblivion will always have a special place in my heart. It's hard for people today to understand how good Oblivion looked to us all when it was brand new, but a remaster like this helps us get a taste of it.
Oblivion was my first Bethesda game. I never played a game like it back then. Certainly has a special place in my heart as well. The music also brings back memories. To me Jeremy Soule helped make those games become what they are.
I have a distinct memory of myself thinking "this is it, graphics can't possibly get better than this" lol. It looked amazing to my 14 year old mind when it first released, my first system being PS1
You know that a "remastered" is right, when you look at it and say: - Is just like i remember it. You guys have added the "nostalgia filter" and made it real. Good job! I can't wait to play it.
How Skyrim got an official remaster and Oblivion didn't I will never know. Oblivion and Morrowind both need full remasters - Morrowind probably needs a remake, with full voice acting - people need to experience these amazing games and they simply are not going to get the love they deserve unless they are updated for new gamers. Glad you guys are doing this
If they remade Morrowind they would get nonstop complaints. It's a lose-lose situation for Bethesda. If they don't change the gameplay systems people will complain that they were lazy and didn't modernize it. Casual Audiences will wonder why there's no Compass & Quest tracker, hate that attacking is based on skill level, and that there's so much reading. If they do modernize it, then Morrowinds fanbase will complain that it's tainting the games original vision. Morrowind was made with late 90's RPG gameplay systems in mind. It doesn't need a remake; some games just belong to a certain time. You can download OpenMW and play it that way & it's essentially a remaster. Oblivion however is more like Skyrim and should get one.
@@cyluk358 good point - perhaps a remaster done a long time ago, before the world went UbiSOFT. Just before Skyrim was released perhaps. I just love Morrowind, but I entered these games at Oblivion, so even I would love a Morrowind with voice acting and a bit more smoothness, keeping everything else
We kinda have know for a while that an Oblivion remake has been in the works ever since the court documents. My best guess would be they are holding back on it to have this release first as it is officially endorsed by Bethesda.
The audio is so refined and mastered it must've took so much time. Bravo, truly professional work I know this project will carry you guys to new heights. Hard work like this doesn't go unnoticed in the eyes of players especially if this is there favorite game of all time like this is for me. And to see it get this sort of attention just shows how much love really surrounds this game and how ambitious these folks are to go to such lengths to modernize this wonderful world for everyone to enjoy again or for the first time. This was an excellent showcase y'all your work is beautiful.
You know, like 99% of all of these fanmade remasters, it will likely never finish, and every time they claim to have a release window, it gets delayed another year, and they just leave us with a short demo and disappear into obscurity. So just saying don't get your hopes up, two remastered side quests is not much to go on.
@@Folcock Bethesda relies on the modding community to fix their games and keeping players engaged for years. Yet Bethesda doesn't always treat their fanbase well and gets a lot of well-deserved criticism. Often feels like the fanbase has a lot more love for the games than Bethesda does, as they're more focused on income. If they deserve their skillful community doesn't matter. @@Folcock stop putting words in my mouth. I never implied that. No one would care or love Bethesda games if not for modders. All thanks to them, however BGS doesn't appreciate the community and always tries to monetize what was always free and has been made from the players for the players.

In the original game the Killing Fields was one of the most annoying quests. If you levelled too much before doing the quest it was practically impossible to get the full reward, as the goblins were scaled to your level, but the NPC's were not. This meant that one or two hits would kill each of the brothers.

This is one of the few games I'm looking forward to. I swear more work has been put into this passion project than has been put into any triple A game in at least the last 10 years.
This comment wins Best in Show. This "passion project" had more talent put into it than the hundreds of millions of dollars thrown at projects like Starfield could pull off. The people working at AAA studios now don't care about games. There is no passion. They are either just there for the paycheck, or they have some agenda they want to shoehorn into the project.

Bethesda the week before Skyblivion releases: We're releasing a brand new very important and absolutely necessary update for Skyrim, see below on what is coming with the update: New idle animation when reading a book A new survival mode that doesn't affect difficulty but will make it so your character have to use the bathroom regularly A new dialogue option were you can talk with NPC's about the weather Updated textures for mud crabs so that they come in a slightly darker shade of grey Decreasing the time for the shout cooldown by .00000001 seconds And most importantly and update to the mod workshop that will come with a brand new high quality mod that adds top hats to all NPC's for the low price of 15 dollars
@@K_1_T_S_U_N_EWhile this is true, it is also true that a not-insignificant reason why Bethesda 1st party games have such a long tail on PC (compared to console) is the modding community. This is nuts! Incredible work. I always thought Oblivion's story and quests were superior to Skyrim, but Skyrim's gameplay (and mods) kept me interested in Skyrim for far longer. The voices and the music from Oblivion sure take me back. I am very excited to see this completed!
the graphics and textures look soft. with such vibrant colours it has an almost cartoony aestetic, and i LOVE it! it looks absolutely incredible. very Oblivion, and a stark contrast to the gritty washed out Skyrim

It looks very true to the original game. However, there's a strange blur effect on anything rendered in the distance. I hope we can turn that off.
The fact that you remade Chilrend even though there's already a version of the sword in Skyrim really shows how much love and craft was put into this project.

Oblivion will always have a special place in my heart. It's hard for people today to understand how good Oblivion looked to us all when it was brand new, but a remaster like this helps us get a taste of it.
exactly - this is just how oblivion is in my memories
Oblivion was my first Bethesda game. I never played a game like it back then. Certainly has a special place in my heart as well. The music also brings back memories. To me Jeremy Soule helped make those games become what they are.
I have a distinct memory of myself thinking "this is it, graphics can't possibly get better than this" lol. It looked amazing to my 14 year old mind when it first released, my first system being PS1
You know that a "remastered" is right, when you look at it and say:
- Is just like i remember it.
Glad you guys are doing this
Remasters aren't really my cup of tea but I'd buy a remastered Morrowind in a heartbeat!
A Morrowind remake would break the gaming industry. If they did it beat for beat (but fixing the various game breaking bugs and nerfing levitate).
