Will be keeping a close eye on Starship Simulator! You can tell tons of love have gone into this game!
I'll give you a job on my ship @CMDREagle131 👍
I forsee a variation on Distant Worlds 2
@@MrBwian You're playing it too?
@@CMDREagle131 Hell yeah, backed on kickstarter at Commodore level
@@CMDREagle131 or we can just chill in the bar, have a drink and let the staff run the ship and reminisce about DW2
This does look very promising - I hope the sole developer doesn't burn them selves out with the stress of building the game. I've seen other single developer projects collapse when the pressure becomes to much. Make sure you look after yourself Dan!
They’re going to be hiring more developers with the money from the kickstarter
Too ambitious.
@@Solivex True, that's being said on an interview of THIS channel :)
@@Kiwi_Dave I dont know, No Man's Sky was initially developed by a team of 5-10 people who had to build the engine from scratch, these guys have the advantage of UE5 and tons of pre-made tools. With a few extra talented people I'm pretty sure they can at least pull off most of their vision with a couple more years of development.
I am 52 years old, and this excites me more than fishing naked.😝
One thing I love from the dev is the WIP sticky notes everywhere where things aren't finished
This game is the single most exciting game I've seen in years. I love Elite but this feels like what the explorers in us have been begging for. Elite is beautiful, and I see commander Meek exploring the ED galaxy for the foreseeable future. I have been playing with Starship Simulator since the demo was placed on Steam. The potential is clear and I'm incredibly excited for this game. Like Elite, this has amazing potential. I'm 100% on board with this game. o7
I'm excited about the future of this game
Definitely one to watch, backed at Captain level, have managed to get to Sag A* in the demo and that super massive black hole is very impressive, took just over 4 days game time to reach. Debating whether to return to Sol (no teleporting) or to carry on towards where Beagle Point is. But really looking forward to whats to come.
"In the Starship Show this week..." Looking forward to that continuing!!!
So excited to be part of the Starship Simulator launch.
Goosebumps!

Definitely on the journey for this one, and totally get where Dan is coming from and going. guilty as charged for building a 1-1 full interior enterprise in minecraft over a couple of years which I bunged up on youtube a sobering 10 years or so ago, and guiltier as charged for building something way madder than a jar of tribbles over the last 8 years or so that I may even finish someday. Dan takes my dreams of walking the enterprise and runs to beagle point with them, so can't wait to see and play more, and really pleased it busted it's kick starter and beyond :D
increased my pledge from Captin to Commodore last week, cannot wait to see how this develops and might just see a few old ED faces in the game 👍
Yes same here! Can't wait to help design an Alien Race as well as a star system.
I see Rheeney's already sussed out the external camera 😊👍
As you know, been to Sag A and impressively they already put the black hole in the game.
Looks very interesting, but a long way to go. I look forward to more development vids.
Me: Found this marble of a game.
Also me: saw it is pre-alpha and works already very intriguing and promising.
Also me: Set course to the core of the Galaxy and saw an ETA of 3.77 days (which is awesome !!!)
That's a great project and they've got many things already done, so there is substance. I'm looking forward to an awesome game we needed since a decade! Like Pokemon MMOs this one fills a huge gap!
Woo! This is wonderful to see! Was incredibly psyched to see you had a new video about Starsim - beyond BEYOND excited for Friday!
Hope this doesn't turn out to be a 2nd day job sim.
Have this on my steam wishlist since I first heard about it. Myself and some friends are looking forward to playing this. Could be my first reason to get VR.
So excited to see where this all goes post kickstarter!
Character model diversity before people start calling the dev out.
Talking about space games that you have featured before, Jump Ship (earlier called Hyperspace) landed on Steam (not for sale yet, and no ETA on opening for EA).
Yeah we saw. It's picking up huge traction on wishlists as well.
Fingers crossed for this one!
how do you get the updates will that work using steam or do i have to do any thing?
Any updates are delivered via steam
If they put my favorite star trek ship, the NSEA Protector, then ill be all in
Never give up.... Never surrender!
@@TheBuurPit This fine ship, this fine crew!
What to expect, I expect he worse. Husband and Wife team is high risk, especially since only one is a developer who has little to no real programming experience. Funds raised will go towards their living expenses plus development. They'll realise the promises and scope will never have any chance of being implemented, way too ambitious. Progress will slow down to a crawl and then stop completely before ever reaching EA.
Too many alarm bells and red flags on this one, biggest being it's a husband and wife team.
Speaking as 50% of a husband and wife team that have done indie game development together and are now RUclipsrs ...I KNOW that the marriage element is actually their greatest strength.
@@TheBuurPit This started as something to do during COVID lockdowns. For a family priorities can change in an instance especially with kids and this will be abandoned. KS isn't even a promise to deliver something. Project is way too ambitious for a AAA team let alone one person.
@@TheBuurPit what a lovely sentiment!
I thought the point of a Kickstarter was to hire new staff. It was my impression he is aware it is going to take a bigger team.
@@freudianslip19 They've already stated KS funds plan to get this to EA - After that with ship sales and game sales etc they will have funds to hire devs.
I’m not up to speed to all of this, but is Paramount(tm) going to have issues with concept and costumes?
No. It's not star trek. And paramount don't own all spaceships and all uniforms.
No one can copyright an idea. he has color uniforms but it is different then star trek's
