The Stones releasing new old music... doesn't get any better for me!
And it's a heck of a song, too. Truly doesn't get any better than this!
And of course the fact that Jimmy Page is playing on it.

Great!!!! kkkkk
it's nice to be good with a sound of zepp & stones
"Scarlet" was a mythic song for the Stones fans: everybody talked about it but nobody had ever listened to it !
So HAPPY to eventually hear it as a Goat Head Soup outtake (even if it was in fact recorded a year after the album was released).
How would someone have gotten there hands on a recording before the release? Never understood. Like would someone at the studion release some copies? Idk lol
I was Scarlet. Not a groupie. I stepped into a world beyond my ability to cope. Had a media degree which has been plowed under years of complications of mythical proportions. The life of Scarlet became a humiliation, private joke in Hollywood Northeast.

Unbelievable - 'lost songs' aren't usually much worth listening to... there are reasons they were lost. But this one is actually really good! Once again, Stones don't disappoint.

Good stuff! Jimmy Page said that he remembers this session very well because it was special for him. I think he was extremely happy to be playing with Keith Richards.
na I think he said that about the 'Dirty works' session in the 80s
No, it was about this one. It was an interview for the BBC radio at the time this song was released. @@edenshaw9004

jimmy page! this is legendary...
@@williamvonschenk2273 that song is awful 😂
@@swirlingfudge who asked?
@@swirlingfudgeNot awful but far to be a great Stones song.
Hearing Jimmy Page play with _this_ band is a dream come true.
It's like the potential of "Can't you hear me knocking" where the stones are a little zepplinish meeting "Tangerine" where zeppelin was a little stone-ish fulfilled.
I've literally dreamed of this.
Ther,e's a super cool song by Blur on their album 13. I don't know the name of the song just that it's no. on the cd. The lyrics say "I lost my girl to the Rolling Stones..." The the riff at the end is SO Keith.

@@blessingtx7285 whats the song?
On the Stones song “One Hit“ Jimmy Page does the second guitar solo (at the end of the song) and it's a very impressive one!!!
It's on the “Dirty Work“ album (1986)
Richards and Page two iconic musicians who always give very insightful and interesting interviews about their art, life and ride to fame
Encore! Encore!
Who holds onto a song with Jimmy Page?
The Rolling Stones: Oh by the way here is a song we did with Jimmy Page. 47 YEARS AGO!
Right? I wonder if there was some sort of issue one of the band members might have had with it or something. Mick claimed he forgot all about it somehow but makes me wonder. Especially if it was written about page’s daughter, makes sense why Page would remember it as special but why’d Mick put it on the back burner?! It sound like a pretty catchy/poppy tune, very completed as if made for radio play. Very interesting they never released it ..lots of questions
Probably recorded for fun, but then legal complications on performance rights across too many management companies got in the way.
Yeah, that pretty well sums him up ...look how long he held back Rock`n` roll circus made in 68 released in 96 around there and that had Lennon, Clapton and Richards playing together ....oh and Yoko eh that's why that dam Yoko again. lol

This groove is sick, I freakin love this!!
Stones and Page together. Wow, this is what the world badly needs right now.
Page's guitars are so evident. Layered guitar sounds.
And this combination of stones and page is just a classic rock rememberance we need right now
Absolutely brilliant! Listened to Jimmy and Mick on Radio 2 this morning as they introduced the song for the first time via the phone. There will never be rock legends such as these ever again - MUSIC HEAVEN!

Facts
PATRIOTIC RockaRoller round that time anyway both bands were switching up the sounds
@@samedgar2283 yeah. Zeppelin's sound wasn't like their early sound, with fat guitar tones and bluesy riffs and melodies. And Stones kind of were the same way when mick taylor left the band.
@@cs-7 they were both going through an experimental period. Zeppelin with the more old pop and classical influences and the stones with the funk and gospel
@@samedgar2283 Yeah I really don't go for that. I liked their early stuff so that's really all I listen to by Zeppelin. With the Stones though, the Brian Jones era isn't as a good as the Mick Taylor era, they were more rockin with him so that's what I listen to with them. But really AC/DC is the only band where I can listen to almost their entire catalog. From the first album to the newest album, it follows the same format, I know what I'm gonna get and I know it's gonna be a great rock n roll song. I don't like when bands abandon their roots. I don't like change or nothing like that. Just stick to what got you going in the first place.
Love this tune. It's so great to hear new Stones stuff even if it's 47 years old. Rock on boys.
Wow. That's great - loose and groovy, with some classic Mick/ Keith vocal refrains going on there. Love it. Can't wait to cruise with the window down to this one this summer! If only we could get a new stones song every month indefinitely. Cool - just purchased it off I-tunes - looks like I'll be cruising to it with window down TODAY!
I just don't understand how some people, on this planet, ignore The Rolling Stones. Totally awesome.
They should have stopped after Tattoo You in 1981
this is the best mix.
Worth the long wait!!!

You can't deny that they're the coolest band ever.
@@axl4767 try to remain cool for 60 years.
@@axl4767 There exists objectively more difficult music, perhaps, but "objectively better" neglects the acknowledgment of taste and style. Remember (or be informed, if you are only a casual Stones fan) as much as The Stones have heavy handed works, they have inimitable numbers that can only be written and performed by fervid disciples of early American music - Sweet Black Angel, Let It Loose, hell, mostly everything off Exile and Beggars Banquet. Then there's the occult magic of GHS, and ballads like Moonlight Mile and Time Waits for No One. They might deserve more credit than being labeled "simple rock/pop." I agree there's more technically difficult music, but that isn't to say it's necessarily more satisfying, nor should it all be compared in that sense.
@@axl4767 You got me, I have no counter. Cheers.
I’d have to go with Van Halen or LED Zeppelin on that one
It's 2020 and still releasing more great music, GOAT!!!

The Stones and Page = Match made in heaven
page plays just the solo's on this track and they truly suck
Dude, your comment is quoted in the New York Post!
@@jaredbratten1062 I didn't know that. Thanks for the info, man.
@@joddeurter2448 I disagree, The Stones are fantastic and they were a solid band up until "Tattoo You". By the way, Page also plays the solo in "One Hit To The Body", I'd rank that solo as one of his best.
Good melody. This is better than anything currently on the rock charts, if such a thing still exists.
If you count bands like “Imagine Dragons” and “Twenty One Pilots,” this so-called rock music is very much alive. But in serious news, we have Greta Van Fleet. They might just sound like a copy of Zeppelin, but no one can deny they’re bringing classic rock back to mainstream idea. Being in a band of 16 year olds covering Zeppelin and playing originals myself, I can say it’s very inspiring to see you can still make it big playing rock and roll
There are no rock charts today. People today thinks The 1975 is a rock band lol
Harry Rag I remember a friend of mine saying, “there’s this really cool rock band called the 1975. You’d like them since you listen to classic rock.” I listened to them, and they’re not rock at all. They need to rename the rock charts because it’s an embarrassment to have Zeppelin be classified as the same as Panic! At the Disco

there's plenty of real non-copy rock bands playing good music today. Greta van fleet is a mediocre led zeppelin rip off. If you wanna hear some real modern rock and roll in the spirit of Floyd, Stones and Zep, quit listening to the radio and start searching for music online

Why's nobody talking about Charlie Watts's excellent groove he lays down. The man's been doing it for 58 years!!!
Not Charlie in this one.
General Patzer Charlie wasn’t at the session for this. The only Stones on it are Mick and Keith. It was cut at Ronnie Wood’s basement studio. Not sure if Wood is on it but Jimmy Page is.

Love this! An old song with a new twist as only the RS Kings of Rock could do! Beautiful 💕🌸
Jimmy’s leads are beautiful on this song! His playing his so unique to him and instantly recognizable, even if I didn’t know he featured on this song, I’d think to myself “that lead playing sounds an awful lot like Jimmy Page.”
definitely not a Les Paul either, I don't think, anyway. I'd say the telecaster? ANYONE?
@Jiří z Lipé The more I listen, the less certain I am... Jimmy has always played to the song/band, like he did as a session player, what I mean is, he's played the style of the band. I'd bet Jimmy could play Keith's style and nobody would know the difference.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!
