Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Ray DeSantis He sounds pretty decent on Kashmir, but most songs he can no longer sing in the original key and are a tuned down (some songs it works for but others lose their mojo). Heck, by 1973 he could no longer hit the high notes on most nights for Stairway, Rock and Roll, Black Dog, Immigrant Song, Over The Hills etc. No warm ups, constant touring, smoking and drugs all killed his top range. I think the no warm ups was the worst, as it may be why he had nodes on his vocal chords. Smoking usually seems to be more gradual in it's damage.

I'm 65, grew up in Montreal, (CHOM FM), ZEP was BIG!! 1980, had tickets to see them, front row....John passed away. my heart dropped and hit the ground..I will never forget the loss of him, and of the band..BUT! Nice to see OLD Zep boys rocken. And to see Jason on the skins! I only wish, they would for the hell of it, get back together! No new stuff required, just the memories of that time! Young people today would never feel or understand the power of this song, when it would hit the air waves! Can't be explained, you will (new people) will, never, ever, understand the power and feelings behind this classic tune! Man, it was a classic back in the day!!!
