The official video for Living In A Ghost Town by The Rolling Stones
Lyrics
I'M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
I'M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
YOU CAN LOOK FOR ME
BUT I CAN’T BE FOUND
YOU CAN SEARCH FOR ME
I HAD TO GO UNDERGROUND
LIFE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL
THEN WE ALL GOT LOCKED DOWN
FEEL A LIKE GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
ONCE THIS PLACE WAS HUMMING
AND THE AIR WAS FULL OF DRUMMING
THE SOUNDS OF CYMBALS CRASHING
GLASSES WERE ALL SMASHING
TRUMPETS WERE ALL SCREAMING
SAXOPHONES WERE BLARING
NOBODY WAS CARING
IF IT'S DAY OR NIGHT
I'M A GHOST LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
I'M GOING NOWHERE
SHUT UP ALL ALONE
SO MUCH TIME TO LOSE
JUST STARING AT MY PHONE
EVERY NIGHT I AM DREAMING
THAT YOU'LL COME AND CREEP IN MY BED
PLEASE LET THIS BE OVER
NOT STUCK IN A WORLD WITHOUT END
PREACHERS WERE ALL PREACHING
CHARITIES BESEECHING
POLITITIANS DEALING
THIEVES WERE HAPPY STEALING
WIDOWS WERE ALL WEEPING
THERES NO BEDS FOR US TO SLEEP IN
ALWAYS HAD THE FEELING
IT WOULD ALL COME TUMBLING DOWN
I’M A GHOST
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
YOU CAN LOOK FOR ME
BUT I CAN’T BE FOUND
WE’RE ALL LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN
WE WERE SO BEAUTIFUL
I WAS YOUR MAN ABOUT TOWN
LIVING IN THIS GHOST TOWN
IT ISN’T ANY FUN
IF I WANT A PARTY
IT’S A PARTY OF ONE

The fact that these guys are in their 70’s and still putting out music is iconic.
Chuck Berry was out touring until he died. So was James Brown.
I feel Jagger and Richards will be the same.
The Stone must be rolling
They are actually closer to their 80’s just sayin
And still putting out more relevant music than any of today's youngsters...
@@danielward7008 -That's 110% Correct. I remember back in the 90's or so, many were saying for The Stones,Dylan and McCartney to retire. They are too old Blah! Blah! Blah! Hell since the old guys are showing who is King. This new album by Dylan is supposed to be something special. Way beyond lyrically what anyone under 50 is doing. McCartney made 3 excellent albums in a row Chaos And Creation,Memory Almost Full and Electric Arguments that were as good as anything out at the time. Same thing with The Who latest album. It was as vital and powerful as anything out there.
Rest in piece, Charlie. RS music is living in every town.

The fact that a band from the 60’s is still putting out music 60 years later almost is unreal
Unreal a good or a bad way?
Tienan Pan-Wiener good
No it is not! All musicians who grew up and got influenced by Gospel, Blues and Jazz have it in them.
Prophet Snow: I read Mick’s biography, it’s an amazing story. For one thing, he wasn’t the druggie everybody thought he was. He runs 5 miles every day - backwards - so he can do it on stage. I’m so jealous! He’s 5 years older than I am and I can’t do that!
@@deborahjeanne2141 -Amazing. Also amazing is there is no fat on any of the Stones. So many people would still be here if they could control to some degree what they put in their body and got into a consistent exercise program. Yep..first time!! I remember as a kid playing 'Some girls' album first time..it still always sounds good... there is only one first time though.
Classic Rolling Stones, 'when times are really hard and everything is going bad', leave it to the Stones to create something beautiful and magical. Something that will lift the human spirit and get us up and grooving - amazing music! This is magic in what they are and always have been, "true bluesmen". Dear Stones, my wishes for good health to you and your families.
Why? They don't wish you good health in their 2019 production of a corona lock police state song predictive of 2020.
Allow me to tell you some of the next few steps in this future production, food shortages, the "second wave" which will likely be contamination of food supplies and then just the Bolshevik take over of Russia and the Ukrainians, grandma goes on the dinner table. Fido the next day maybe.

Me too! My first concert I saw & listened to them was in Europe, not long time ago, in 1967. Experiencing the Beatles, with Pete Best, in 1962 was one thing, but realizing the difference between "Pop" & "Blues", or how they called it, R&B, it was easy to open up my mind to the Blues Rock of the Stones, incl. Stu on the piano.

@@hsap2223 I know the Stones are kindergarten rock. I totally hear you - Zappa, King Crimson, Mahavishnu, Santana, Chic Corea, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Debussy, Mozart - there are countless artists that went so much further than the Stones in so many dimensions. But the Stones have a simplicity, purity, accessibility, and connection to Black music that I love. The Stones throb. It's sensual. Real. Raw. But, again, I'm with you, the Stones are really basic. As a guitarist, I will say Keith Richards is an underrated guitarist. He IS the THROB. And Mick and the others GET Richards. And to me that's what a rock band IS. Sensational, gritty guitar.
Zeppelin
@Joey Balas Right on Joey. Thanks for backing me up on this one!
I agree bout what was said, than Keith Richard is such a great tasteful guitarist. But he's multidimensional, not like a shredder who only knows how to shred. Keith is a connaisseur, I mean he can play, rock, 50's r'n'r, blues, soul, 50's r'n'b, reggae, funk and country. He's also a ballad specialist(he knows Judy Garland tunes. He's always interested by all kind of music. The guy spend a lot of time just listening. He's a master of the different ways of listening (marvelous 80's interwiew in Guitar Player about what and how to listen to music)
And he's a huuuge composer. What a fuck*** ARTIST!
And Jagger.
Here's Sir Jagger, a rich man
But he comes from street level school of singing. A spontaneous, natural voice, not trained like the voice athletes of today. So even if he tried he can't escape of that level. So this very rich man is connected to the street level of his youth. What a paradox
And he's a so good lyricist, a world class stage performer, he owned the stage
There's a lot of great rock musicians down on earth
But excuse me, everything bout the Stones is so special. I can't see who's so exciting this last 60 years
Long live the Stones!
It really upsets me when someone says ...the Stones need to hang it up ...There is not one band that even comes close to them ! After all these years the Stones still give their fans amazing music...it's called RESPECT

Sound like auto tune
Playlist Master it’s not overused. I don’t know about auto tune, but there’s probably a tad bit of it, if it’s not the slight vocal distortion

It's so weird that it was dropped only two years ago but I feel like I've known this song throughout all my life
I honestly wish these guys could go on FOREVER. Sadly, there just are not that many singers and bands putting out good quality music today. The Stones always have.
Well, I largely agree, but as someone who's been a fan of theirs since 1972, there have been a few albums that have fallen decidedly short, but they've been consistently good starting with 1989's Steel Wheels, with Voodoo Lounge, Bridges to Babylon and A Bigger Bang all being good, solid works. Undercover and Dirty Work from the mid 80's are pretty lacking, unfortunately, and probably their two worst albums. I can hardly wait until the new one comes out!

Awesome. Best tune i have heard this year. What a band!
This is why The Rolling Stones will always be greatest rock band ever! Just when they said Rock&Roll is Dead. And the world is Dead! These guys come along and give everyone a good kick!
It's dead because it won't chart on the mainstream charts and it hasn't for nearly 2 decades now.
This song will be a big hit guaranteed!!
@@ThelSuperlKing go away-it already has half a million views here
Well rock isn't exactly dead, its mostly just hiding
True. And not just a kick....they define what’s going on.
Ich bin ein Stones Fan der ersten Stunden und werde immer ein Fan bleiben bis zum Schluss.
Till the end !
Just caught this. I actually thought it was a cover of the 1981 track by The Specials but this has just blown my mind.
Salute to the stones who've been doing this for over 6 decades.
This is a surprisingly good song. I feel it reflects exactly what all of us are going through. Thank you Rolling Stones. This is the music the world needs right now.
Nick Fr Fr
@Nick That's what they are doing. This is a part of it, and while the album is not quite ready Mick and Keith decided now was the right time for this particular song. It was actually recorded in 2019, just a coincidence that it's so relevant right now. They did change some lyrics though
@ Mojomatrix - Why are you surprised it’s a good song? It’s the Stones!
Nick they said this was cut for their upcoming album
King Trance I know, I’ve never heard a bad song
Like a fine wine, the Stones just keep getting better with age.
They're obviously not getting better. They haven't released an album of brand new material for 15 years.
@@Revolver1981 this is brand new material
@@mitchblack4241 That's just your narrow minded opinion which thankfully I don't share.
@@alexo.4324 actually the sound is always the same. Never changed, never tried something new.
Indeed .
The band that keeps on giving.been listening for 55 years. Enjoyed it all the way.
God speed to the next level, Charlie Watts. 🙏🏼🥁😎
End Of the World........Rolling Stones release a banger!
You know what they say: go out with the bang!
The Greatest Rock and Roll band in the history of music.
Everyone else can fight for 2nd
A comment from Chuck Berry, don't forget your roots! Nowadays we would call it Blues Rock!
Genesis you mean.
@@michaelkatz4675 Who?
I agree with the sentiment. can't compare The Stones to The Beatles as Beatles are more pop. In any event The Who didn't sound anything like The Stones who didn't sound at all like The Beatles who sure didn't sound like The Kinks who damn well didn't sound like Van Morrison who doesn't sound like Pink Floyd who doesn't sound like Dylan who didn't sound like The Byrds. Now that we are through with the comparisons. Let's just call it Effin' Great!
Canadian truckers know that Life was so beautiful And then we all got locked down

Very cool song.
Mick & Keith had started it before Covid lockdowns, Jagger says it was originally about zombies but rewrote the lyrics, like he does!! 😄
It still is kinda about zombies
