@@gilbertoblanco5215 Exactly. So many songs ('White Rabbit'??) are assumed to be about Vietnam because of games, movies and tv docs. 'Gimme Shelter' is a great example, Keith Richards wrote it because he was furious about the sex scenes between Jagger and his, then girlfriend, Anita Pallenberg being filmed for the 'Performance' movie.
This great song was playing 1975 when I fell in love with my husband. Still I am so sad, my great love passed away 10 years ago. This song brings back memories all the time.
That is hands down the most controversial thing ever said, but one of those things we can all agree on at the same time! Man, what are you trying to do? Create a portal to another universe or sometime? Uff, my head hurts now!
I never get tired of hearing this. An absolute masterpiece in every sense, the lyrics,a journey through time from the view of the Devil, who else could even come close today?
I love this song so much, for me it's a roundabout way of saying that evil is just inherent in people. Like a contradictorily happy celebration of humanity itself.
Humans killed Jesus, Humans organized the Holocaust, Humans invented the Nuke, Humans are responsible for most human deaths, and most non-human deaths.
"When god made man the devil was at his elbow. Make a machine. And a machine to make a machine. An evil that can be left for a thousand years. No need to tend to it." Cormac McCarthy
There's no devil (btw, there's no "Satan" or "Devil" in the Bible either - the snake is only called a snake, and so-called "Ha-Satan" (which means "the accuser, or the adversary") is an angel working FOR the god to tempt man when he's ordered to) and there are no gods or goddesses or jinn or demons - we do ALL this to ourselves. Hopefully we learn this fact faster than we let our base nature tear everything we've built apart with the very tools we've used to make things better. For the first time in history we truly have the technology to provide for each and every human at least enough food to not starve, enough clean water to not die of thirst, enough material to provide a roof. These are no longer the subject of far-off dreams, buy of everyday people motivating themselves into fighting for the allocation of resources to provide if nothing else these basic things. A person with 1,000,000,000 (a billion dollars) can revolutionize the lives - from a living hell to a prosperous chance at all good things - of tens or hundreds of thousands of people literally without the monetary cost having ANY impact on their daily lives. They can still have a dozen houses, two dozen cars, private jets, and everything else, and could make that earth-shaking change without having to give a single one of these things up. They choose not to, and the politicians they casually buy off enable it. The worst part of it might be that - at least in the USA - more than 74 MILLION living, breathing human beings actively - enthusiastically - almost rabidly - voted for MORE of this system with all their heart. I'll never understand it.
All I can say is, it's still electrifying. I was a Beatles fan, but I listened to the Stones' music as it came out new on the radio. "I rode a tank, held a general's rank, while the Blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank. "---that is surprisingly good poetry.

@@dontnerfmebro8052 Under the law of armed conflict (LOAC), the death of non-combatants is not necessarily a violation; there are many things to take into account. Civilians cannot be made the object of an attack, but the death/injury of civilians while conducting an attack on a military objective are governed under principles such as of proportionality and military necessity and can be permissible. Military necessity "permits the destruction of life of ... persons whose destruction is incidentally unavoidable by the armed conflicts of the war; ... it does not permit the killing of innocent inhabitants for purposes of revenge or the satisfaction of a lust to kill. The destruction of property to be lawful must be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war." For example, conducting an operation on an ammunition depot or a terrorist training camp would not be prohibited because a farmer is plowing a field in the area; the farmer is not the object of attack and the operations would adhere to proportionality and military necessity. On the other hand, an extraordinary military advantage would be necessary to justify an operation posing risks of collateral death or injury to thousands of civilians. In "grayer" cases the legal question of whether the expected incidental harm is excessive may be very subjective. For this reason, States have chosen to apply a "clearly excessive" standard for determining whether a criminal violation has occurred. When there is no justification for military action, such as civilians being made the object of attack, a proportionality analysis is unnecessary to conclude that the attack is unlawful. From Wiki

You cant just guess what the devil is. You either know or you dont know. The devil is lucifer who was the highest angel. He got jealous of Gods power so God threw him down to earth and made him ugly. However even if the devil didnt exist there would still be evil on earth due to our carnal nature in all of us. Our whole reason for fleshly existence is to fight the devil and our carnal nature and try to mimic Jesus as much as possible. When we die we sleep and wait for the great judgement where everyone who was ever alive gets judged. Some will get rewarded and some will receive a second death by being burned up in hellfire. There is no such thing as eternal hell, God is not a torturer.

Always been a fan of the Stones, my Mum used to listen to them everyday, that crackle of the LP as it hits the first song. Nostalgia of a Sunday morning laying in bed listening to my Mum hoover and sing away. I always have the Stones on at least once or 4 times a day. Just last month passing by my oldest son's bedroom and I could hear Gimme Shelter. At that moment I knew that my parenting is awesome and my old Mum is still around, leaving little messages that I could only understand.
Jagger and Richards were at their peak, writing incredible words and music from Beggers Banquet in 1968 through Exile On Main Street in 1972. Their creative output during that time is just mind blowing.
It wasn’t their talents at all actually. Mick Jaggar sold his soul to Satan while sitting in a prison cell and he channeled this song by Satan himself. It’s documented, check out The Good Fight Ministries on YT. That’s how most of these “artists” wrote music. Same with Zepplin and Stairway to Heaven. Channeled while becoming demon possessed. So sad. Praise Jesus! ❤️

Don’t come crawling and begging for water when you burn in hell. Have fun with the short time you have gaining the world and losing your soul you wicked money loving traitors. It will be very sad when you burn in hell knowing you can’t escape and trying to get someone to convince your families not to join you but knowing they all will burn appropriately with you.

I love this song so much, for me it's a roundabout way of saying that evil is just inherent in people. Like a contradictorily happy celebration of humanity itself.
Sadly yes
Humans killed Jesus, Humans organized the Holocaust, Humans invented the Nuke, Humans are responsible for most human deaths, and most non-human deaths.
"When god made man the devil was at his elbow. Make a machine. And a machine to make a machine. An evil that can be left for a thousand years. No need to tend to it."
Cormac McCarthy
He wrote that after he read the book "Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov.
There is none righteous. No not one. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Giving the devil credit for things we do ourselves. After all it was you and me.
I just think the beat is catchy. Never really read that much into it
there is no devil the angels killed him lol
Rip Charlie Watts. A true legend.

The destruction of property to be lawful must be imperatively demanded by the necessities of war."
For example, conducting an operation on an ammunition depot or a terrorist training camp would not be prohibited because a farmer is plowing a field in the area; the farmer is not the object of attack and the operations would adhere to proportionality and military necessity.
