My late brother in law (Gary) got me into Floyd when I was about 13 (around 1983) and I've been a fan ever since.
Every time I play an album or hear a tune by pink floyd, I think of him.
Thank you Gary Chadwick, you are missed by all of us.
    And thank you for this.

I was in college on a spring day in 1983 in a business class with the windows open and this song playing. Our teacher appreciated it and wove it into what he was talking about. As he was finishing, he said his lesson was about to reach a crescendo, just as the song was. We all cracked up. A great memory. Ironic we had a cool teacher, unlike the one in the song.

Years ago I had a mate with a drum kit, I had a guitar, and was giving some lessons to the young guy down the road. None of us had ever played on a stage before. The 3 of us started playing this song, loud. We didn't have any vocals setup, but we had a kind of "Everyone just walks into my house" type house. When we got up to the vocals in part 2, all these people started singing. I looked up, and there were about 15 people in my loungeroom, who had all drifted in when they heard us playing. Sounded so much like the second chorus. Bought a tear to my eye.

Everyone who was around back then remembers part 2 being at number 1 for Christmas. The winter of discontent, as it was called. The first winter of the new Thatcher government. I was 10 and the images in the video were stunning- the marching hammers, the obscene monstrous teacher, and most of all, that tyre on a rope in the playground twisting very slowly against Dave Gilmore’s guitar solo. And all at Christmas!

    [Part 1]
    Daddy's flown across the ocean
    Leaving just a memory
A snapshot in the family album
Daddy, what else did ya leave for me?
Daddy, whatcha leave behind for me?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
"You! Yes, you behind the bikesheds, stand still lady!"
When we grew up and went to school
There were certain teachers who would
Hurt the children in any way they could
    (oof!)
    By pouring their derision
    Upon anything we did
    And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids
But in the town it was well known
When they got home at night, their fat and
    Psychopathic wives would thrash them
    Within inches of their lives.
    [Part 2]
    We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey, Teachers, leave those kids alone
All in all its just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
    We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers, leave them kids alone
Hey, Teachers, leave those kids alone
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
    [Guitar]
    [Part 3]
I don't need no arms around me
I don't need no drugs to calm me
I have seen the writing on the wall
Don't think I need anything at all
No, don't think I need anything at all
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall

Ah, man, you missed the part where the ad was place, right in the middle of "The Happiest Days of Our Lives."
(fyi, I know you had nothing to do with that, and you likely didn't have that experience with the video/song, but many, many others, myself included, have. But your chapters listing just seemed like a good place to comment on this blasphemous RUclips practice.)

I keep coning back to my favorite album of all time because it personally resonates with me...
Ive built such a thick, impending fortress of a wall to deal with my ptsd since childhood...idk if ill ever find a way out.
Ive almost completely isolated myself from everyone.
