This is the best live song I have ever heard. Probably better than the recorded one. The fact that the drummer is the lead vocalist and sings just like in the recorded version or probably better, blows my mind. Mad respect!
Drummer in this instance--they had to change the key of the song because Don Henley's voice is so high.

This is the reason I started playing guitar in the 70’s when I was 12 years old.
Turning 60 soon, 6 kids 8 grandkids later, still playing guitar, teaching three generations after me guitar and it all began with this song on this album many moons ago. Thank you Don and Joe.

I’m 71. I loved the Eagles when they hit the airwaves. I wasn’t even 20 at the time. I just watched this video and appreciated the magnitude of this composition more than ever before. It truly is a classic piece of music.❤❤❤❤

Not many bands sound as good live as they do in the studio, but Eagles were able to take an already perfect song like Hotel California and make it sound even better live. This is one of the best live performances ever and I'm not sure if any band will ever come close to how great Eagles were again.

There is a great documentary of Eagles, and in it Glenn Frye explained that he was the original lead singer, but Don Henley had the best voice in the band. So Don sang.

The word "masterpiece" is a huge understatement for this song. Almost 50 years since it was released and we still love the quailty of the music, lyrics, etc.

This was in 1977, we're in 2023 now and yet it's so hard to find artists who can sing live that well! I'm a guy who is into almost all genres of music. Blues, jazz, rock, dance, hip-hop, raggae, trap, rnb, you name it, if it sounds good, i like it, but this piece right here is special. Defenitely holds a spot in my top 10 songs of all time. There is a reason anytime a poll is taken of the greatest rock songs of all time, this masterpiece composition is at least in the top 3 if not #1 itself. Like a fine wine, it only gets better with age. And in my humble opinion, this version, when the Eagles were at their pinnacle, is the best version ever recorded.
