"Hotel California" is a song by the Eagles from the album of the same name, released by the group as a single in February 1977. It is one of the most famous songs of the rock-oriented album genre. . The writers of this song are members Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey. The original version of the song by the Eagles features Henley (singing the opening verse) and an electric guitar line by Felder and Joe Walsh.
A rendition of the song appeared on the group's 1980 live album, Eagles Live, and an acoustic version was included on Hell Freezes Over (1994). The Hell Freezes Over version is performed with a total of eight guitars, with a Spanish influence as Don Felder plays a flamenco interlude. During the Farewell 1 Tour-Live from Melbourne, the song was performed almost identically to the original, but with added horns in the opening.

This is the best live acoustic performance I've ever seen. What a great group of talented musicians.
What a wonderfully accomplished guitarist is Don Felder. He is forever unsurpassed as a member of the Eagles. Irreplaceable, even though Henley & Frey tried to overcome this, they never could - and never will!

Joe Walsh and Don Felder were absolute MAGIC together. An incomparable duo. Two virtuoso guitarists who knew how to bring out the best of each other. The pure joy they both had when playing together and making musical perfection is truly epic.

This is the first English song I listened to from my childhood. Back in the days when my father was still a young man, he played the song loud in the room. Nothing he knew about the lyrics, nothing I knew about life. Days were filled with hopes and expected tomorrows. I grew up, went to college in the US, traveled to Cali, got back to China. My dad getting old, and I'm listening to this again. Gosh.

I obviously don't know all the stuff behind the scenes, but Don Henley and Glenn Frey appear to have just not liked Don Felder, which is strange because he's a likable guy. He also gave them their biggest hit, and many riffs that made Eagles' songs so memorable. Henley and Frey wrote amazing lyrics that were the foundation of their success, but Felder was also a primary influence, which those two seem to fail to acknowledge.
Because Frey and Henley didn't like people more talented than themselves they way I see it. But that's not taking anything away from them.

I remember this tour in 1994, it was the Hell Freezes Over tour and when the Eagles were supposedly retiring and last tours ever. Yeah right that happened but so thankful that they didn’t retire. Such a great band to listen to
