  • A customer brought in his Husqvarna 372XPG chainsaw and complained that the cord wouldn't pull and he thought he seized the engine but swears he mixes his fuel properly. Lets take a closer look. #smallenginerepair

    I wish my chainsaw problems were that easy to fix. As always, good video and keep'em coming.

    Glad for him. Great info. I do two things, the first putting a slight chamfer or break edge on the outer rails. Second take the sharp edge from the oil holes to help it flow better. Take care.

    Pretty nice saw, low top x-torq judging by the de- comp on top.

    Another great video, can you tell me what this tool is for? A buddy just gave it to me, I know I've seen it before. Thanks

    So, when are you getting your own shop?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag

      Never. At the end of the day when I lay my head on the pillow I'm not worried about making payroll, paying bills etc.

      @@TheGreasyShopRag I'm a painter. I work for myself, no employees. It's the most free I've ever felt.
      My dad was a mechanic for 40 years. When he retired he started taking on small engine repair jobs. He's doing this out of its shed basically no over head. When you work for yourself you can work less an still make the same money.

      @@ginoroy9952 Well working less for the same money does sound appealing.

    Do you have a link to that flexible flashlight you use?

    I'd rather be embarrassed than pay a big repair bill. That's a pretty big saw and would probably be pretty expensive to replace! Nice job on the fix and also not job on not putting down the customer. I know so many mechanics that talk like the customer is stupid because they aren't repairing the car themselves. I'm not doing my own dental work because I'm not a dentist. Everyone has things they're good at and no one is better than anyone else because of what they do. That's what makes free market capitalism work. We're all just cogs on the same wheel

    That was a pretty long bar on that saw…was it originally?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  Год назад

      Its an Oregon bar so I assume that bar didn't come with the saw new but it should easily handle it.

    Both times you started this saw it resisted pulling through on the first try. Can you explain what is happening?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  Год назад +1

      I didn't catch that during the video editing or the repair. Both starts its smoking heavy. Maybe we have some fuel leaking into the cylinder while it sits? Maybe its just set too rich? Maybe the operator just wasn't prepared for that kind of compression? The saw never came back and its been quite a while.

    I guy could feel pretty stupid for doing something like that. Ask me how I know. I appreciate that you don't dump on the guy for being stupid or anything. There's a customer for life, in my book.
