    You're the reason I picked one up today.
    Several months back I handled one at my local shop, and I was kinda interested... came back after lunch and it was gone.
    Today I went in hoping for the compact, and I'd just figure out the thread barrel later since I do use a suppressor.
    Ended up being my golden day:
    A single, PDP Pro SD Compact was in stock!!!
    So I followed the local requirements, and brought her home with me today.

    Great review. Love the enthusiasm! I'm a Walther fan, too. I only have 3 so far. May be targeting the WMR next. At 13:42 he says, "Walther doesn't know I exist." LOL - That MAY have been true before this review, but I found this video because Walther shared it on Facebook about 10 hours ago! Here is the text of their post:
    "Now… understand… we know that there are a LOT of you who LOVE Walther handguns. But here is the thing… we have to acknowledge one person specifically. He might be the most enthusiastic lover of Walther we’ve ever seen. This review of the new Walther PDP Pro SD is one of the most watchable and fun video reviews this year. He may be a bit biased in his love of Walther but know this… he bought this gun, we didn’t compensate him. The name of his channel is even super pro Walther.
    We hope you enjoy this as much as we did."
    That's some pretty cool recognition.

    This is why people should do there homework before wasting their hard earned money on a Glock. For me it’s CZ, Walther and HK. I like products that come out the box ready wo need for customization yet are modular. But after watching WaltherLover I’m falling in love with Walther! Great stuff, thank you.

    My first option out of a list of around 12 pistols - is the WALTHER PDP PRO SD with 9mm 18+1, Holosun 508T-RD-X2; and the Streamlight TLR-1HL. I spend several months and many hours on RUclips listening to what others have to say about performance and reliability. Went to the range and test fired it. All I kept saying was "HOLY SHIT.....WOW" and I was very impressed with my shot group (no not the side of a barn). I say around 25 feet and paper targets. As all the commentators and firearms' enthusiast - The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol (in my opinion) stands out as a pinnacle of modularity and versatility in the world of duty pistols. With an array of features catering to customization and adaptability, this firearm exemplifies innovation in design. I love how it fits in my hands and the esthetics. Here's what I think about it's Performance: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol delivers on its promise (watch the many videos - yes! on RUclips) of being a duty-ready firearm. The combination of these features translates into a reliable and user-friendly shooting experience. The modularity not only enhances performance but also accommodates individual shooter preferences. Durability: Walther has a history of producing durable and reliable firearms, and the PDP PRO SD appears to continue this tradition. Quality materials and precision engineering contribute to the pistol's longevity, making it a reliable companion in various duty scenarios. Conclusion: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol stands as a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and user-centric design. Its modular features, including the Picatinny rail, optics-ready capability, reversible mag release, and various customization options, make it an excellent choice for those seeking a duty pistol that adapts to their unique needs. Walther has successfully combined versatility with performance, resulting in a firearm that meets the high standards expected of a duty pistol. LASTLY: I say to always check for the latest reviews and user feedback (RUclips) to ensure you get the latest up-to-date information on any weapon ....you paying for it. Might as well do your homework. - G😝🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪😜🤑🤑🤑

    I am a Walther-fan. I own the Walther PDP full size 5" 18+1 and the compact 4" 15+1 LE Edition. Both are superb modern handguns. I bought the PDP Pro SD last Saturday. Aside from the redesigned optic cut lug nut secured for a sturdier, stronger attachment.

    Two years ago I bought my full size 4.5 inch barrel awsome pistol now the pro comes out and I am kicking myself but I put suppressor sights and changed my barrel to a threaded one I love the way this gun shoots and suppressed it's amazing but I might be a little bias I also have a ppq 45acp tactical and one of the nicest guns walther ever made the p99 as I also got a threaded barrel for that it's got to be one of the few double single action striker fired guns I've ever seen strange it came out in the mid 90s and though walther has discontinued it lately this year they are issuing a limited run of the pistol I never understood why all of Europe's police where carrying them and alot of there armed forces I think the trigger guard mag release killed it here I happened to prefer it Americans don't like change but if it was good enough for two different James bonds it was more than good enough for me and of course this brings me back almost 40 years I still have my interarms walther ppk 380 I must of put 4000 rounds through that one and it still looks brand new today I carried concealed with hollow silver tips until I got the p99 about the same weight and not to much bigger but 16 rounds of today's self defense ammunition is hard to beat hope I never have to use it but I train as often as I can thank you for your great video.

    It’s truly an awesome gun. Not much to dislike here. Some people say that it is “snappy”, but I don’t really agree. There may be a slight bit more felt/perceived recoil compared to some other manufacturers, but Walther claims that this is due to them utilizing a stepped chamber. Some people have tested the stepped chamber theory and it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference depending on the ammo used, but it is still cool. My only real complaint is that if you carry it concealed and are in a self defense scenario that is very close-quarters, and the slide happens to be pushed against an attacker it will kill the trigger and will not fire. Easy remedy for this is to put a light on it that extends beyond the barrel.

    “What more could you want?”
    How about optic plates that come with an “optic ready” pistol?! How can an “optic ready” pistol be “optic ready” when you purchase it, have an optic in hand, but can’t mount it because Walther thought it was good idea not to include ANY plates!!!!!
    Don’t get me wrong, I love the PDP. Have zero complaints with the PDP Compact itself. But Walther? My god! When most new “optic ready” pistols in 2022 come with multiple plates (sometimes 5) in the box, Walther decides to send their customers with ZERO! You have to get in touch with Walther just to have them send you a plate specific to your optic! And if you decide to change or upgrade optics? You’ll have to get in touch with them again!!!!! And maybe for a price. 🤦🏻‍♂️
    Whoever came up with the genius idea not to include plates with an “optic ready” pistol at Walther needs to be demoted! A Walther PDP “optic ready” straight out of the box at your LGS is not optic ready at all! It is only optic capable. You can buy the PDP and your favorite optic at your LGS and will have to sit on your ass waiting for the plate before you can mount it. Great job marketing team! It’s a perfectly designed pistol that’s handicapped by the clueless suits pushing bad business practices.

      Homie i know this will be shocking to hear, but some of us couldn't care less about mounting an optic to a firearm. It makes more sense to sell it aftermarket and charge people who want it, rather then charging people for something they don't want.

    • @princevalencia8816
      @princevalencia8816 2 года назад +1

      @@andog6092 Lmao. Homie, most people buy optic ready pistols specifically to put optics on them! If you don’t plan on putting optics on your OR pistol, that’s ok. But you’re in the minority! Manufacturers typically cater to the majority of their customers not the minority, otherwise they’ll go out of business. Do you even know why these manufacturers started coming out with optic ready models? It’s because people were having their non OR pistols milled. So manufacturers decided to upcharge for OR models but some decided to half ass it and leave their customers looking for plates that are compatible. Some have decided to go all the way and included multiple plates. Some listen to their customers and some don’t.
      And no, it doesn’t make more sense to sell it aftermarket. Which is why more and more of the manufacturers who want to take a bigger piece of the market are INCLUDING multiple optic plates in the box for their OR models. THAT MAKES MORE SENSE! And those models aren’t even as expensive as the Walthers. There’s also other manufacturers with pistols that are optic ready and no plates required for specific red dots. You need to get updated with what’s going on.
      This isn’t something new or just some wishful thinking. This is happening with other manufacturers. Walther is just behind. I’m a big Walther fan and I have a PDP. I’ve tried to convince friends to get a PDP of their own, but they went with pistols that already come with plates. You gain customers by having an edge over the competition. That’s the point of the PDP in the first place.

    I want one of these sooo bad..but I can't find one anywhere still...most shops I've asked about it, didn't even know it existed. I prefer to handle one before buying, so ordering from somewhere is outta the question. But, if I ever see one somewhere it'll be in serious danger of comin home with me.

    Great review!!! Both my Walthers rattle. Nothing wrong, it is what it is. I also noted in the first shooting, the slide did not lock back after 6th and final round. Did I miss something? As always you rock. And for Walther to acknowledge, well, that is awesome!!

    • @WaltherLover

      Why are you saying that the rattle is ok? Why are you allowing the bar to be set that low because you are a fan boy. Demand better.

  • @CubaLou1

    The threaded barrel 4.6” (b/c I need the compact) is $250 all day long. That alone is a huge savings. Throw in the DPT Dynamic Performance Trigger and the aluminum Mag Well and it’s practically “free” because my PDP-F 4” is steady at $650 and I just bought the PDP Pro SD 4” compact for $799. (need to pick it up tomorrow) So that’s $150 difference where again just the barrel alone is $100 over this difference. Not a lot to ponder on this one.

    Were there actually any issues with the PDP 1 optics cut, or was it an "internet" problem. According to their website there have been zero failures. I ask because I have a Gen 1 and have not actually seen it. I would buy the Pro in an instant if I did not already own a gun like it. I have a Sig P320 Legion with this style of set up with seems to be pretty common now. I love it, but am considering a trade in so my home defense and carry have some commonality.

  • @6spdkeg
    @6spdkeg Год назад

    My problem with their PDP lineup is their lack of magazine compatibility. The regular full size and both 18 round pro compact and full size mags will not work properly in the regular compact version. Mainly need properly built base plates to use an 18 rounder in the compact. bummer but I'm sure someone will start making something that will work.

    Hard for me to definitely put the PDP ahead of the classic PPQ. For me, the PPQ grip feels like an extension of my hand in every way. That said, I have a PDP Pro SD (FS) on order...because why not? Although it sounds like this will force me to track down DP triggers for my PPQs now. Excellent review BTW!!!
