March, 2022. I purchased a pdp compact 4inch last week. It's the best all around polymer gun I own. I own a glock 19x, sig p320xc, sig p365, m&p 2.0 all 9mms . The walther has the best trigger, ergonomics, grip texture, and it comes stanard with optic cut slide. All this with a 30day money back guarantee for $ 648.00 or less . SO fucking glad that I waited to get the PDP. I had a feeling they were gonna come out with some upgraded version of the PDP soon enough. I cannot wait to get one of those. This will make a great full size option to go with my PPQ SC. I hope they do a PDP subcompact soon.
Walther has no plans to do a sub compact especially since subcompact guns are no longer the thing that sells i think they may do a pps but with more mag capacity
Did you get the FS or compact? Idk which one I want yet? The compact also comes woth 18 plus 1 so idk.
It's nice to see someone who knows how to grip the pistol for a change. Everyone else does it wrong and says, "Waaaaa PDP too flippy!"

I hope other people have a much better luck if they get a PDP PRO than I did. Mine came from the factory with a broken Striker / Firing pin. The gun was dead out of the box.

@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 Nothing yet, I just got it a few days ago. Went to the range pumped up because I have the PDP and love it. It went click no bag, thought I had a dud round cycled click nothing. Got home and took out the Striker / Firing pin and the tip was broken off. Of course I tried to contact Walther it was late Friday so no go. I did send them a Nasty Gram email. I will call ASAP and see if they will just send my a Striker. They most likely will want me to send the gun in. I could take the one of the other and put it in the PRO but will still be down and out of a gun. I asked them in the email if they even test fire their guns before sending them out. It came with a Trijicon and I got a good price on it, not that helps any.
Great review! I am on the list at my local shop. I am Stoked! I have been daily carrying a PDP compact for a year now. I love it. I just got home from the range and I get excited every time I know I get to shoot my PDP. can't wait.

Is the magwell removable? Cause I'd like to carry this, and want the extended barrel, new trigger and optics cuts, but want to be able to remove magwell for printing reasons.

Awww man, that PDP looks and sounds beautiful. That threaded barrel is sweet! Walther has really stepped up their game when it comes to ergonomics and personalization of the gun for the owner. Now we need a review with that gun with a suppressor on it. The ultimate 007 gun lol
Ive always been a Glock guy. Spent a fortune modding a Glock 19. Got my hands on my brothers Sig P320 Xcompact with Icarus grip and fell in love. I tried to buy it from him. He said "man I'd like to sell it to you, but I'd be screwing you". He then told me about this gun. Maybe he isn't so bad? I can't wait to get my hands on this!

This really bums me out I just bought the PDP and the enhanced trigger group a month ago. 800 bucks total. This gun is only 30 bucks more comes with it pre-installed, a better slide cut, extra upgraded mags, and a magwell. Fml.

Did the Walther guy say you only use the new aluminum base pad magazines on this SD PRO? Can you use regular PDP magazines? Also, does that aluminum magwell come off, so I can use my regular PDP magazines to do edc? Glad they "changed" the optic cut, but I wasn't really concerned too much with that. Cool video, love the Walther!
Yes you need the metal basepads to use the Magwell, and it can be taken off.
Walther is top notch they took an already pretty much perfect pistol and made it better. That's a solid company right there, listening to the feedback and actually acting on it.

This company is very underrated man.
Walther is not underrated at all. People who know pistols know Walter is and has been a top tier manufacture for years. One of the best stock triggers out of the box when you buy their pistols.

Do you feel the Pro SD trigger would be too light for a carry pistol?
No I don’t l, but that also comes with a caveat. That being I wouldn’t recommend it for a new shooter or someone new to carrying. The trigger wall and break is very distinctive. I think it’s geared towards a more experienced shooter in my humble opinion. It’s not much lighter if at all
Then the standard PDP trigger, just less take up, flat faced, 90 degree break and shorter reset.
I am normally not a big fan of flared magwells but that mag well is very pretty on that particular pistol
It’s a really nice addition on this pistol and not a super sized competition one.

There are some close ups, this is not a detailed review or anything close to it. It was a range day where we got a couple min literally to check it out. You will see a detailed review of these PDP pro SD pistols when they become available

Agreed. I'm honestly surprised they fixed it so quickly without any mishaps happening yet. Now let's hope they listen to the consumers some more and give us a PPS M3 🙏

Yes please. With how low cut the optics are, if the sights were slightly larger you could cowitness out of the box with many optics.
I swapped my sights for some suppressor height sights to co witness with my optic. I like it

@@HuntFishShootChannel Years ago I purchased a CCP and put some new Tru Glo Pro sights and it's still one of my favorite carry pistols, it's get great egonomics and a great weight with gas tube ,It's an accurate pistol.

My only real complaint with my PDP i bought was the Plate request system sucked. I think you can just buy them now which is good. I wonder if they will come out with a 45 like the PPQ, I have a friend who absolutely loves my gun but he only shoots 45 in his pistols and would buy it in a second. I might be interested in a Pro version for a .45 if it got made, I am looking to eventually get a silenced .45 Pistol but the only game in town really is a FNX Tactical or a USP Tactical at the moment and those are kinda pricey.
I would agree they just ship with three, let’s say for the RMR footprint, Acro and Deltapoint. But it’s a cost saving and I thinks it’s actually passed down to the consumer.

I bought this gun well the previous generation about 5 months ago full size four and a half inch barrel and I've never had such a good day at the range I'm and intermediate shooter at best back 40 years ago when I started I could hit anything but older eyes and a slight tremor in my right hand has kind of killed that off but this gun was like stepping back 40 years in time dead center shoots out of the box hardly any felt recoil I felt like I was shooting a 22lr kind of wished I waited a little longer to get the pro but I'm not into optics I would rather rely on old eyes than a gadget but the threaded barrel would have been nice as far as the trigger goes I'm sure there is a big difference but I probably would teally notice the difference and I have 4 walthers and never had a complaint about any of there triggers I'm sure in time they will come out with a 45acp I have a ppq tac 45 and it's the smoothest 45 I've ever fired so who know if I'm still around in a few years maybe there will be a pdp 45 tactical around and that would be wild thank you gentlemen for the introduction I actually saw it when it came out and after a few more I bought it.

@@HuntFishShootChannel ok. Thanks. I have a spare set of tritium Glock sights. If the are capable of co-witness with the red dot, the PDP might become my next favorite handgun (currently it’s the VP9 tactical, without an optics cut unfortunately).

Was thinking the same thing. They obviously noticed there COULD be the potential and changed design.
They would’ve if that was the reasons sighted for not selling the gun as much as expected.

Compared to my G26, a subcompact, it feels very nice in terms of snappiness. So it's a nice upgrade for me.

@@HuntFishShootChannel just bought a PDP last week and the main reason I won't return it and wait for the new optic cut slide version is that if I ever have an issue with it, I know Walther will address it

We all have full time jobs outside of RUclips. Actually REALLY good jobs. People generally enjoy our content, but hey we can’t please everyone. Soon we will have an ACTUAL review for this Walther PDP Pro SD where our viewers will be able to see in depth and close up details of the gun.
Since they copied the FN LS EDGE they could also make a similar optic system instead of cutting even deeper in the slide............. half the slide's scalp has been cut off !
The deeper slide cut for optics mounting is better and since the Edge cost nearly $1400 so nearly 600 more than this. Additionally, the edge has a terrible trigger at its price point and a smaller magwell. The two don’t equate, one is an excellent value and the other is grossly overpriced (FN LS Edge).

It’s a quick shot shooting the gun which you get like 5 min with max. Let alone it’s like every other PDP but with a threaded barrel, trigger and Magwell.
why on all these gun videos, all they do is show the guys that are talking. Who cares. At least show the gun and it's features when your talking about nothing.
