Thank you so much for sharing 🙏 i bought this pedal after watching your video, and its a game changer for my live performance. I play alone with my guitar and this pedal adds another musician to my playing. It also creates a soft baground for the vocals. Its like having an orchestra playing when you sing !
Man, sounds super good on acoustic. It’s like an ambient strings pad is playing in the background. Doesn’t sound connected to the acoustic at all (in a good way).
I use the cloudburst along with the String 9 with my acoustic. Together it makes the worship songs sound so beautiful! Before I bought the pedals, couldn’t find much of anything showcasing them with acoustic. Since I bought the two pedals, I only have used them with my acoustic. Haven’t even tried them with my electric yet. But I definitely will in the near future. I am worship leader, and these two pedals have changed everything for the better, making my acoustic sound heavenly, with strings accompanying me, sustaining richness! A must have for any guitar player playing worship!
@@westcountryblue6123 My pedal is at the church and I use it in conjunction with the EH String 9, running a dry signal and wet in stereo to mixer. If your using it alone I’m sure the settings you would like will differ from my setup. So just from memory I think I got the decay at around 11 o’clock, the mix 10 to 12, pre delay 10, tone 11, mod 9. Like I said I’m using both pedals together so the effect I’m getting will be way different from just using the cloudburst by itself. I no expert, I just play around with it until I get the effect I think sounds good. Have a great day!
I'm intrigued by the combo with the String 9. I always wanted one but never dropped the money. Bought a Cloudburst from my buddy for a good price and now I use it for acoustic at my church. The combo sounds like a fun and interesting way to mix it up.
@@sirnatanielson Personally I think they are great together. But it’s all a matter of taste and what style of music you’re looking to produce. I run them foh, so might not be the same through an amp? Pretty much on the slower worship songs I use both together, and for the faster praise songs I just have the cloudburst on.
For my set up this is now an “always on” pedal. That said, I recently got a EHX Mel 9 which I put through a Boss RV-6 in shimmer mode and that has some nice sounds, flute inparticular is nice.
I bought the mel9 first and thought it was awesome. Then I got the Cloudburst and also bought the Soft Focus pedal by Catalinbread. Talk about a match made in Heaven! I mostly use the Cloudburst with the Soft Focus pedal. I would say I'm 100 % satisfied with all 3.
That's a lot like I do. Cloudburst with expression pedal on one board, and Mel9 on the other, running through a Hall of Fame 2, usually on shimmer setting.
Hi guys, that also works wonderfully with a real piano! Just had a microphone in the grand piano today at the service, especially only for the cloudburst (a mic preamp is necessary). The cloudburst can be set wet, so that only the pads effect comes out. It was so powerful! And with the Strymon foot switch, I was able to reduce the effect for the verses and less broad song parts to just beautiful reverb
Nice Demo. I find the secret to the Cloudburst is the predelay. I need to try this on my Nylon for which I am using the Dynamic Plate on HX Stomp which sounds fantastic.
Anyone looking for really soft dreamlike vibes might want to look at what this peddle sounds like used with a Yamaha nylon silent guitar. I love what nylon strings can do for ambient sound creation and my Yamaha SGL200N is brilliant !!.
Great video! Can you use the expression input to switch between MP and Forte... it would be awkward to have to bend over to change that in the middle of a worship service. TY!
Nice sounds. I can see how this would get a bit tiresome after after a time though … just like shimmer which was great when it first appeared . Now it just sounds dated and annoying. And I love reverb but I find using a nice plate and playing with decay and tone can do almost everything you need.
Yeah, his guitar string balance is incredibly bad. I think it's the B string that much louder than anything else. Really noticeable during the fingerpicking.
I play acoustic with zero pedals and use a 1/4 cable to HI channel on the mixer. The only effects I use is the typical channel eq and reverb. I would like to expand my sound, but I'm not sure how to connect additional pedals. First, I'm setting approximately 8' from the mixer. Therefore, is a DI box even needed? If so, do I need a DI box with eq and gain? If so, would the eq settings on the mixer be at zero. Would the acoustic connect to the Cloudburst and then connect to the DI box, if it's needed. Any help would be appreciated.
To me, Every demo of this pedal acoustic or electric sounds like an instrument with a synth pad from an 80s keyboard added to it. Is that the goal of this pedal? Maybe it sounds better in the room?
Yes, you are - wrong. How come people seems to adopt this strange idea. Its a tool for c sake. What about keys playing strings, ever heard about that in all kinds of music 😂😂😂

Damon, I look forward to getting one of these! Your comment was validation that I'll need one of these beauties on my pedal board! Thanks!

Great sound. Thanks for the demo on acoustic!
Just bought it and thanks to this I'm gonna try it out on my Taylor now!

Hi, would you mind sharing your general base settings on the cloudburst for worship. Thank you

Beautiful acoustic tone, will try this in the future
So cool with the bass too🫵👍
Sounds great! Is that the stock pickup in the J45?
Yes - this J45 is from 2012 so it may be an older version of the pickup but it's the LR Baggs Element.

I absolutely love the Strymon Big Sky MX
Hello, thanks to your advice I bought the cloudburst pedal to play acoustic guitar. Very nice effect. Thank you for your help. 🎶😊
Great sound!
I have a J-45 and a Cloud burst. Never occurred to me to use them together.

Yea the predelay helps so much with dialing it in. I be it would be great on a nylon string.

You say that, but I recommend checking out the Anderton's review of this pedal. It's actually one of my favorite guitar videos period.
Awesome !!!
At first I was like, why the heck would he add a pad on the demo, cant hear the reverb. Realizing that is the reverb. l o l
😂
Plate reminiscent
Have you tried the walrus audio fable or lore?
No I haven't but they both seem really cool. I'd love to try them out at some point.
Does this have the momentary press feature where it sustains the sound like the big sky ?
Man, you need a Lr baggs anthem or lyric.

Non-expert opinion here: I see no reason to use a DI box at all.

What is that chord progression :) ?
Is the pedal powered, battery powered, or only powered?
You can't run it off of a battery. You have to use an external power supply.
Never mind the pedal! we need to know about your skin care regimen? your skin is flawless!!
I just don't see any use for this pedal other than worship music, but maybe that's what it was designed for. Maybe I'm wrong about that.
I am about as far away from being “religious” as you can get, and I think the Cloudburst is incredible!

It's awesome for anything ambient, regardless of your beliefs...
Doesn’t hurt that your playing a J45!! 😮😂 with $6k worth of equipment you can sound good too! Lol😂
Thank you for helping elect the christofacist Trump
In demo5 and demo6 what chords are you playing?
