This was actually the only helpful video I came across regarding this product with the cloudburst. This pedal (cloudburst) was my first Strymon pedal I’ve bought and I got it when it had just come out. This would really allow the possibilities to come out for this great pedal. It would be nice if you could go between infinite mode and favorite without having to take off the back, but maybe I am missing something. Any info on that would be great and this video was great thank you!
Thank you for explaining this. I was thinking about getting the Cloudburst and mini switch but now I need to rethink it. I’m not keen on the idea of having to open it up and move jumpers around. I’m subscribing
Pedal sounds great, but this video demonstrates it's not ready for prime time, ie, who on a gig would want to be taking a pedal apart, powering on and off and so on, it's ridiculous. If they make a pedal for people who want access to all its functions but actually play gigs in front of live audiences, I'd be willing to get one.
Great video! Really helpful to see how to set this up. I picked up the Cloudburst a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it. I'm just using for home studio use so not sure I need the switch but cool to see how it all works. Cheers!
Very helpful. I'm still trying to figure out why Strymon didn't just put a small slider switch on the side of the footswitch to toggle between tap and favorite mode. Love their products, but this gets negative points for user-friendliness.
Great video! I wish the freeze and infinite mode were switchable with the Miniswitch on the Bigsky as well. I suggested that some years ago, but no luck sadly.
Great video! Thanks! I ordered the Cloudburst today. I'm going to see if the original Strymon Multiswitch will work with the Cloudburst. As you mentioned, it would be nice to have 3 presets. I'll also experiment with the Helix to see if I can setup footswitches to turn on and select presets.
@@elchacon6304 It did not, sadly. But instead of getting the multi-switch plus, I used midi to control the Cloudburst. I'm now using it with a Quad Cortex. It's the only outboard pedal I'm using.
At 6:19 there’s no carry over between the longer reverb. It just kills it dead when switching between the favourite and the current setting. Can that be changed?
Kinda weird the mini switch wouldn’t have a toggle switch to make it easier to change the pedal’s modes, but whatever. Can you use an a-b-y pedal with two mini switches to use both different mini switch settings?
Hi. Very informative. Thank you. Do you know if you use the strymon 3 button multiswitch, can you save any combination of the 3 options you shared today with the three buttons foot switch (i.e. two favorites and a freeze)? Also, if I purchased a controller like the disaster area micro pro, can all three of the options be used on that as you are saving commands? Thanks
Do you know if the Strymon multi switch (3 buttons) allows for a combination of settings: like a favorite; freeze; and infinite? OR three just three favorites? As an aside, it is rumored the multi switch may only save one favorite for Cloudburst but I haven't been able to verify. thanks
@@sundaytone it would be great if you do a video using a Morningstar MC6 or similar midi controller on a Cloudburst and have all these settings saved on dedicated buttons. Also if this is possible, would the settings be saved on the midi controllers or the Cloudburst? I assume the MIDI controllers will not reset when unplugged.
Hi , very helpful , thanks for posting and demonstrating , a couple questions are you running your Cloudburst in Analog mode for Worship usage, and when you set up mini switch , do you have to re set it up everytime you turn your board off ?
I'm running it in the digital mode and haven't played with the analog or kill dry mode. For the Miniswitch - no you don't have to set it up every time it remembers how you have it configured.
thanks , I like the pedal , and do find it's hard to be subtle , for example there is just a little playroom on the mix knob of pure dry prior to hitting more intense reverbs and then the full on effect moving clockwise
good Demo - but I bought the CB with miniswitch and did it like you demonstrat as a favorite switch. But then the Bypass doesnt work anymore. So that you have allways only two options. Wether only the CB on or off (wet/dry), or with the miniswitsch than "on" ore "on with favorit" (wet/wet) with favorit. Do i something wrong? If not, is this not good, cause in the case with favorit switch you have no Bypasssignal if you turn the CB off!!!! - Then there is no signal! sorry for my English
Can this pedal be set up to use both expression pedal and mini switch? It would be nice to use the mini switch to call up your favorite setting and then use the expression pedal to control the amount of ambient effects. Is this doable?
Question, if you don't change the settings of the mini switch (leave at factory) and you use the infinity mode, do you turn it on by pressing once and turn it off by pressing it a second time?
Thanks so much for the sharing. I’m playing essentially with an electro acoustic guitar. How are the "cloudburst" effects with this kind of guitar ? Are the effects interesting ?Thanks from France🙂
I’m guessing if using the mini switch as a favorite., the cloudburst must be on in order to activate the favorite setting? You can’t activate the favorite, without first activating the main switch on the cloudburst? Thanks!
I love this channel and all the information I have to play in church and I'm having a problem with the mini switch I have done your instructions multiple times and I can't seem to get it right I want the the infinite setting❤ and as soon as I hit the pedal switch it goes into infinite and will not shut off without touching the mini in the red light on the mini does not light up light?
Yea that sounds weird. Are you using a TRS cable? Also, I would check to make sure you set the jumper on the inside of the mini switch to the left 2 pins (tap mode).
Thank you for your reply. I finally did find some instructions on a Strymon FAQ. The setup involved using three knobs on the Cloudburst to connect it to the multiswitch plus.
I just bought the Cloudburst added it to my Helix unit via EFX loop. Instead of using a mini switch, can I control the Cloudburst via the Helix MIDI controls? (I use the Helix Snapshots to change my settings.) Don’t want to add another switch if I don’t have to.
Does it have that slight ‘pause’ when you switch between fav-normal like the bluesky? I hate it how the bluesky does this.. it doesn’t bleed nicely when switch between 2 settings
Can't they just make it so we could deactivate the power switch and have that double as the mini switch? The appeal of this pedal is it's small form factor all the add-ons are not a welcomed feature. 🫤
Solid demo👍
Thanks for helping out with a simple set-up that Strymon's pdf's made a struggle.
In this price range, and especially to reduce space, they could have at least introduced a knob to save two or three presets.
Great job again. Nice extension of the first video and helpful information.
Very helpful > fantastic demo!! 🤜🤛

I'm wondering if any external tap tempo single button pedal works with the Strymon pedals or if you have to use the Strymon Mini switch
Thanks so much!

If I have the main switch off => Does the favourite switch toggle the effect on and off ?

Yea! Just heard about the update. I'll have to give it a try.
What are the changes?
For such a progressive company this is very convoluted. Having to switch jumpers within the pedal is rediculas.
Considering the size of the pedal & everything it’s capable of it’s justified.
Could buy a second mini switch, or adding a tiny sliding switch is relatively easy. Or use MIDI.
