They can let the great guitar players have a diddle. And let the salesmen explain how cool it is. But nobody gives you the tour like Pete. - Sounds amazing. Love the tech talk, it's useful to know. Are there going to be a line of the smaller pedals? - Maybe an Oil Can Delay?
I loved Pete’s explanation videos of the original V1 Flint and El Cap. Understanding what is in the sounds helps you to appreciate the intricacies of each sound they create.
Pete is like the master chef stepping out from behind the curtain at a 5 Michelin starred restaurant explaining in great loving detail the amazing 20 course meal you are about to experience with great joy
Wow!! Strymon is genius as always . industry standard! This pedal is a game changer. Just moved the bar up. Also so cool the edge is explaining how it works 😊 strymon rocks. I need this pedal now. Take my money
Got mine and it is super useful and lots of varying tones can be had out of this. Have had the BluSky since its release and the Cloudburst does what that does and even more. The Ensemble effect has just got to be heard in person. Again well done Strymon! Well done indeed!
I saw the Andertons video 2 weeks ago, ordered just 15 min into the video. Got it direct from Strymon. I simply love love this Cloudburst. Inspring and versatile.
Just bought it and I'm learning the beauty of this pedal my first pedal... everyday I'm loving it!! It helps my vocal to be cool and control accompanied by the sound effects...I loved the total mixed of the sound ...adjust as you will to your liking...
Beautiful dynamic pedal. Just ordered direct from Strymon through my Reverb account. Will be quite a pleasure to use on current recording project, future projects. Cheers for creating such a wonderful delay reverb effect pedal. 💯
I've been using my Strymon BlueSky for the past 8 years now. I bought it primarily for it's Shimmer tones. But now with the 'Cloudburst' it seems it'll be a noble upgrade. Thanks Strymon, I'm getting the Cloudburst soon! ♥ 👌🙌
Honestly I love my Cloudburst! To say it is anything short of amazing would be a lie. This pedal has breathed new life into my playing. Even playing just solo, its like you have a whole string ensemble with you. What I love most about this pedal is everyone else can now hear the harmonies that I hear. Seriously this pedal is 100% worth and every player should have this pedal in their kits.
This pedal has been a dream with my lap steel, wih and without using a volume pedal. Really great variety of tones on the pedal using humbucker vs tele pickup and guitar tone control ..
I've been desiring this pedal since I heard it used by Danish Pete on Anderson's Music demo show. I have a Yamaha SFTA transacoustic that would work well because of louder sound at my guitar and a bit lower from my amp across a small room. So I purchased the Cloudburst two days ago and have had a glorious time fiddling with it. I need a volume pedal next. This pedal has endless possibilities in conjunction with my keyboard with voice notes like choir sounds or brass horns or violins. It should sound bigger than my small room could hold. An orchestra in a blue box. Thanks for the best pedal I've ever needed, Fellas ! YaY !
Really good overview. I have BigSky, Flint & Deco and now I have a feeling I need this one - the response of Ensemble to pick-up selection towards the end is what chinches it for me . . . superb!
Excellent reverb sound. Very natural and wide. Very useful in most situations. But I expected nothing less from such a great company like strymon. And a convincing demonstration too.
Excellent pedal!:) I usually rock two reverbs and use them before a delay kinda weird but this is getting what normally takes me two reverbs to get with the ensemble!:)
The Bluesky was the first time I messed with the shimmer effect. I never really liked the shimmer on the Bluesky as well as many non-strymon pedals such as the Ventris. I expected the same from this. Pleasantly surprised. This is has an amazing clean room sound in addition to the ambient settings. The real surprise is the variations of everything in between. A clean sounding and unique pedal and the simplest of controls for such a variety of effects. Kudos Strymon. I predict this pedal will have a long distinguished future on it's way to being a classic. Dumping the Ventris for this!. Cheers!
I’ve got 7 Strymon pedals and love them all but Cloudburst is a real winner. BTW, you can use a MIDI switcher to get the same trails effect demonstrated at the end of the video. It’s a rock solid addition to the Strymon lineup. I’ve got 2 presets combining BlueSky and Cloudburst….OMG, the effect is amazing.
Love Pete’s demos! Can’t wait to get this pedal. My one suggestion with all reverb pedals is that people always play these very ethereal types of riffs, whereas many people buying pedals are playing rock. so how does it sound in a more rock setting with drums bass etc…?
@strymon OMG, IT ARRIVED TODAY AND SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! After only strumming a few chords, a tear actually rolled down my cheek. I can't believe how wonderful and heavenly this little box sounds. I'm beyond pleased. I really love it! Thanks so much!!!
Superb. Just one thing regarding the modulation. While I was watching my hand was instinctively reaching out to slow that modulation rate (Modulation) Rate. Perhaps it would be possible with a future update, via some secondary function to include this possibility? Namely to change that default rate (which may be a bit too high for some ambient needs). Otherwise. Very well done.
Awesome demo. Just wish Strymon would let buyers know it does NOT ship with a power supply and let players know what precise 9V power they need to purchase to power it. As a an archtop jazz guitarist w both Line6 and Boss 9V power supplies- neither of which would power up the Cloudburst- be good to know what is needed to power it up. Txs
Hey there - sorry you missed the bit about the power supply - we've certainly made efforts to make sure folks knew it didn't come with one. Most pedals conform to the 2.1mm 9VDC center negative standard, as do we. If you have a Line 6 supply intended for an HX Stomp that wouldn't work, as well as a Boss version intended for one of their synths or something. So you just need a normal, 2.1mm (VDC power supply with a negative center pin, and it needs to have some juice for hungry DSP, so count on something like a minimum of 250ma. The best thing would be one of our own power supplies, as each tap can handle 500ma without breaking a sweat, but anything meant for that standard should work. Enjoy your Cloudburst!
People you got to get this pedal,,This pedal is alsome A friend of mine has bought this paddle I have to have it for Studio 67 another great piece of work by strymon❤
Beautiful. Definitely figure out a way to acquire this. I should pay some credit cards down for a bit though because I have a problem Lol. This will be mine soon. Oh yes.
Strymon team just got my Cloudburst. It does everything as advertised and does it well. The one thing I wish you would have added is a trails switch, so when the pedal is turned off the effect is too abrupt. A trails switch would allow the reverb trail when the pedal is disengaged.
Hey there Jack - check out page 9 of the manual on "Spillover" that's the feature you're looking to turn on for Trails. I hope that helps! www.strymon.net/manuals/cloudburst_UserManual_RevC.pdf
Q: Since the electronics in the Cloudburst are SO much better, I'm wondering, if I buy a NEW Big Sky, are the electronics updated, also, to the newer electronics of the Cloudburst or are they still the electronics from 11 years ago? NICE demo. Sounds prefect!
BigSky MX has all updated analog electronics - it has our killer discrete JFET input preamps and utilizes all of the analog circuit lessons we've learned along the way. Hope that helps!
Ordered mine for my board. I’m the only guitar in a three piece rock band. Maybe an odd request but I also do solo acoustic gigs and run through a Bose L2. I think this could sound good in the background to fill up space on many songs. Any chance of a video with acoustic.
Thanks for the presentation, it was a very informative trip, thank you. Have you ever considered making a unit dedicated more to travelling mixing engineers than to musicians? I own Big Sky and I am quite happy with it, but a device more capable of pro audio levels and maybe slightly different interface/controllers/switches might be a dream come true. Quality on-board mixing console reverbs are a rarity and such unit would be really helpful in mixing. Thanks in advance ;o)
I've got this pedal, but never delved into it too much, this is helpful, the only criticism is the switch to move to use the freeze pedal could be on the oitside, i seemed to get it it the wrong way round, so back off again..
I have just moved you on from 666 views, now 667, bad number. Anyway i cannot wait to get my hands on one of these. Hands down one of the best effects pedal manufacturers on the planet.
I hope that Strymon will do a Mellotron-Pedal one day! Most of the Mellotron-type pedals on the market sound artificial. I'm sure, that Strymon can do it better 🙂
I like my iridium; but most of their pedals are way too overpriced. This ensemble setting is the selling point; and everyone is going to use it for five minutes before they realize it doesn’t work in a band setting. Sounds cool, but way too overpriced for me.
Would love an in depth explanation into how MIDI works with this pedal. Are there several presets you can have with this pedal using MIDI? I am using a Boss ES-8 so this would be a huge pedal if I can have more than one preset with the tap of a switch.
@@Warriorstreetpreachers did you end up buying this? I have an ES-5 and thinking to do the same thing but can’t find a lot of sample/video showing this capability.
I'm a big fan of singular or dual purpose pedals. Multi do everything pedals with 10000000 choices is very paralyzing to me, I'm really loving your pedals so far. Keep it simple! I have started with Flint and this pedal and I LOVE them!
This sounds amazing! The ensemble switch definitely takes to a place the Bigsky doesn't cover. It would be awesome if you could use an expression pedal to sweep from the short room verbs Pete demos with the switch off to an expansive pad with the switch on forte. I checked out the manual and you can sweep between various knob settings like other strymon pedals, but it doesn't mention the switch. To clarify: can you sweep between off and forte in an interpolated manner (ppp->pp->p->mp->mf->f)?
